yup!
me, remember that vibe back then when I was a decade younger... still baging!
Yes!👍
Gets better as wine
jesus what a specific vibe. it's 2014. jamie xx playing stormzy instrumentals on a rooftop. summer night. was anything wrong in the world back then?
Yeah, we just weren’t as aware as we are now. Or maybe we peaked too soon
Nope was all fine and dandy.
Yea I mean world hunger, war, and slavery is basically still legal here in the US.
Stormzy instrumentals? I think you mean DJ XTC's Functions On The Low.
amen haha
Anyone in 2020 listening.
yesssss forever
of course

I just love the fact that Jamie is also a junglist.
this looks like such a chill evening. dance with your friends, drink a beer, watch the sun set, and listen to great tunes by jamie.
+Michael Mattheakis And you lost : still eating some good pills !
Jamie is awesome.
That's my point... ! Like enjoy the afternoon or early evening with beer, good food, and great sounds with friends.
2:06 The law of superposition of USB drives at work...
Boiler Room, love you to bits and more BUT.....
You really need to employ someone to get the track lists together for each set and give the people what they want ?
Ps if it pays well, please count me in
Thanks
As the badman DJ Zinc would say...
"One man's tracklist, is another man's shopping list."
In fairness DJ's often spend days, weeks, months digging for tracks to craft a special set. Although it's nice to find out the names of tracks you love I think it should be up to the listener to actively seek out these and do a bit of their own digging and not have a list put on a plate in front of them, as a respect to the selector!
breevil agreed
breevil couldn't agree more with you man
breevil what? no, we got the money, and they do the diggin
What I love most about this set is the obsurity of the music. I wish I could find obscure songs and put a bomb set together, but Jamie has listened to inifinite more music than I have. As with anything, gotta put in the time.
Check out the old london pirarte radio archives on here. Heard quite a few of the tracks in this sets scattered in shows on there. Peace.
Jamie, if you ever read this, seeing you playing here was what made me go into DJ’ing. Thank you.
I’m an old school raver and never bought into these Boiler Room mixes but was devvoed when this disappeared. Thanks to whoever bought it back, am dancing round my house right now
"Girl" gives me the chills. Such an amazing soundscape
it really is the first time i heard it i thought to myself "oh shit this is different" he really blew my mind with "girl"
That’s the song that introduced me to Jamie in 2016... still love it as much as the first time I heard it
46:00 - one of the greatest jungle tunes of all time - Urban Jungle, Back in the days - DJ release only 😢
This set looks like Tracy Beaker's birthday bash
+Nerrux fam looool
jokes 😃😃😃
+Nerrux Que the music...
Wow hahahah
loooooooool
Boring? Possibly one of the greatest mixes I've ever heard.
Kristian Dagless pretty unique gotta listen to a lot of stuff to understand why he’s doing what he’s doing imo
seems, that there are negative comments on here, I don´t see nothing negative in this video, nice people having a nice time, peace to those with the good vibes them.
sebastian de rementeria plus he kept it all London or UK, am I right?
+sebastian de rementeria Bro. I've notice that as soon as a video on YT starts to get to a million views the negative comments begin to grow like a fungus, trolls come out of no where. Personally I try not to read to many comments when a video gets to that point but I had say something on this comment... Just my own opinion.. : )
twat
Sebastian lots of people complaining about the audience dancing wrong or not at all. People can enjoy music whatever way they want, right?
Absolutely brother , agreed. The people enjoying themselves cant see the video editing.
When it cuts to the crowd it looks everyone is stuck in about 1994.
LOL true!
I can't think of a way this could be more hipster
....he said, impressing all of the internet with his bland, hollow excuse for wit.
***** He could be talent-less! That would make him more like your 'standard' Hipster. Turns out he's a musical genius. But if the shirt and the floppy hair style offends, then I hear that Pit Bull is currently producing some truly groundbreaking content!
crowd is priceless - its like a wavy garms catalogue, wicked set tho!!
If appreciating talent, uniqueness and good music is being hipster, I'd happily be called one
Steady on folks, Jamie XX is among the most talented electronic musicians of our era. But he is a definite hipster, mixing vinyl, on a council estate roof, for Boiler Room, at sunset.
i love how ppl are bashing jamie here! yall do realize this is the same dude producing for drake? i think he knows what he's doing
gracelord danvers Yeah...Because a DJ has a different Skillset than a Producer. I'm a producer and I have little trouble with DJ'ing. Jamie isn't someone who can do both, clearly.
+CruxG.O.D nah he can do both to a very good standard, look at any recent shows/setlists the track selection and mixing is perfect
+gracelord danvers WHO GIVES A CRAP ABOUT DRAKE?
+ArgentoRAWRz Anyone who doesn't care to impress people with their taste in music, drake's got some great songs.
+gracelord danvers The guy is spinning vinyl records, people have no idea what the hell they are talking about. Jamie XX is on another level
Jamies closing track is just insane! All under one roof raving.
over the roof?
25:30 The ultime transition, for one his best song ! Just perfect Jamie
His best song, not only one of his best!
im not even from the UK, but i can feel the respect and love shown in this set,
one of the best boiler room appearances right here
Still one of the sickest sets on youtube from a musical genius with an album that will stand the test of time without question. Pure class.
Jamie XX is simply one of the coolest newcomer producers from the past five years. I just absolutely adore his sound and aesthetic.
That Do You Mind remix is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard, every beat every vocal every loop - everything this dude has put into this project is judged to perfection
How much I rate him for putting on some grime, absolute legend, he understands a broad range of music. See him at Forward Fest finally after years of waiting. big up Jamie XX
Sitting in May 2016 and seeing Drakes cheeky use of the mix at 14:30 on his 'Views" album
Jamie mixing Mike Skinner reading from his own autobiography is the the most meta of compliments
Will be forever greatful to Jamie for introducing me to Real Lies North Circular
This guy should be so much bigger than he already is. He deserves all the success in the world
tell your intern to lay off the cheesy video wipes....
+Brian Ciaz lmfaoooo hahaahaha
:D agree
+Brian Ciaz shit. since i read your comment I notice them all the time...
+Brian Ciaz its like really bad star wars transitions!
+Brian Ciaz haha. they give off this "and some stuff happened and then..." vibe which I think was probably not intended.
Its amusing to see people slating a DJ for acting boring. when i was partying 89-93 hardly any dj's did anything but play wicked tunes. We went for the music not a dancing dj. Lose yourself in the music people and forget your mobile phone and social media b**sh*t.
No doubt.
Luckily, the people who appreciate the art and music know that dancing isn't part of it.
The best DJs don't dance, in my opinion, cause they're too focused on the music and the performance being the sounds they're making.
your so right bud, in Cornwall we use to go to dance planet and the tunes and skills were what it was about ... the mistakes made it great...sometimes now it just feels like someone playing a mixmag disc
Btw, my first comment was trying to make the point regarding the crowd not the DJ. Back in my day i knew many DJ's that did just the same, stand there usually pill'd up and try their best to mix. IMO it makes no difference whether they stand still or go mental. Its the music we went for, that was my point.
+Fin Mcbratney This applies even to bands. Are you there for the music or what?
plus he's actually beat matching lol
so nice to see Jamie XX knocking out some classic/new house tunes, but yet still being so versatile. credit due to one of our generations best artists
Been touring CZcams's selection of Jamie xx sets and mixes, this is my favourite so far. Great vibe.
Imagine if you were just chilling on the train, and just so happened to look out the window and see Jamie xx playing a live set on a rooftop - yaaaasss queeeeen!
I'll stop next station and walk back. This is the DLR in london.
Not everything is about dancing. Sometimes you can just listen to music. I personally thought this was a really interesting and well thought out selection of mainly chilled out UK electronic music.
Gets edgier and more dancefloor as it goes along too.
Exactly.
What a belter of a boiler room. Being depressed, having 0 hope and listening to boiler rooms gives me more faith in myself for some reason, maybe one day I’ll find myself in a Jamie XX boiler room:)
Get out there, you can do it!
The third time I have listened to this and still in thrall to Jamie's track selection. The audience does remind me a little of Nathan Barley, in the best possible way I mean. Though, had I been there, I probably would of crawled through the audience and hid under the table. I bet Jamie has nice socks on.
when i play three intros in a row, people leave. what makes this man this man?
11:17 That rhythm guitar coming just builds this up nicely.
that mike skinner sample over sleep sound.. sounded sooo good.
no grandchildren, this is not how we dressed, danced nor behaved in 2014
Toby Butterworth So true hahah, where did they find these people?!
Toby Butterworth "we"
One of the most thoughtful and nuanced sets I’ve ever heard. He is so deeply digging creative ground.
i am ridiculously attracted to Jamie.
+Beth Ward i feel you ;)
He's a proper cutey
+Beth Ward wow ur gay
bit fat
Man, I cringe watching him tbh
frankly that says more about your insecurity levels than anything else mate
boiler roof
❤❤❤❤..BOILER. ROOOOOFE....
Boiler *oof*
Wow more than 6 years and still listening this set, jamie xx pure genius
Some actual danceable beats from Boiler Room, amazing! Jamie is good he is, The XX wouldn't be the same without him. Saw the XX live here in Vancouver, will check out his new stuff he released.
Jamie xx never disappoints, great set!
i love the way the train is silent
The transitions are pure 90's its not budget its retro
John Feltham wanted to like it, but noticed I have done this before.
Jamie XX is an alchemist, all he touches turns into gold! Bold and elegant.
And so brittish. Most unfortunate I discovered this genious so late, but I make up by listening each and every day ^^
flugsven amenn!
Absofuckinglootly.
Well said❤
The Dude is spinning Vinyl records, Jamie XX is ahead of his time
And you see the london train passing in the background. Pretty cool spot!
I love when his own track comes on at 0:49. Loving this set!
This mix has been the perfect company for me whilst doing a load of course work, making me enjoy it too! There is such a variety in this mix, it's bliss. :')
Anyone 2023?❤
i would literally do anything to be on that rooftop that night. i would just pay attention to jamie's craft and the nice atmosphere.
Geez Jamie been at this for a minute. I'm just now getting here in 2024
got Going On The Oldschool 90's Classics Intro, Knob Mixer, Turntables. Big Smiles!
his selection alone leaves me speechless
Watched this in the live strream, and still enjoy it immensely to this day. Who knew Jamie XX would be 2 years ahead of Drake ! #onedance
something about this is really depressing.
listen to it another tab the music is sick
göögle are pagans think you mean take another tab ;D
Bollog Nyessy it's British, that's what :)
TheMagicboi13 what are you like thirteen years old ? :)
Bollog Nyessy there's something about you that's really depressing
I love this, tunes, wicked, crowd wicked, setting perfection. How can you not enjoy and get it😀
It's all good though... Everyone looks like they're having great time and that's all that matters. I guess I'm just old school.
oh my fucking gosh jamie knows how to fukcing mix da shied out of those instruments!! big up everybody!!
Stephano Digiorgio not really. altho I love jamie this is a fucking terrible mix from a technical standpoint
well there you got thom yorke look at it on a mix on this channel and is facking worst its well know that some producers are not that on point in a matter of mixing!!
i must say, this is one of his best sets imho. i've seen him a few times and was never really overwhelmed (sorry, i know this might upset some people but everyone has their style). i love and respect him as a producer and i know he's talented and beyond, but i was never wowed until this set. much props xx.
3:35 is those some Goldeneye 007 ricochet sound effects I hear
yes!!!
Lennie De Ice - We Are I.E.
Graham Riley original jungle banger!!!!
Creamy Mocha The similar sound effect is also found in Spaghetti Western movies.
AQGOAT24 yeah i noticced, very funny!
The audience looking dry
But Jamie is on the rise
The 32:28 smile
♡
You know the track?
+DW London Posse - Hows Life in London

We need a Jamie xx DJ Kicks, would be sick
that is a chill location
Wow, suprises me how much people don't like UK dance music. This is great stuff!!
the first ten minutes reach the peak of hipsterism in human history
14:10 one dance. jamie xx has been fueling drake for years
Avindra Goolcharan it’s not drake
An hour of my life well used :)
So good. Watched 4 times already.
lol
Rob when the shit intro was over
The E&S definitely sounds better than the DJM-800's A/D converters.
Reticuli really? (..)
I'm only 5 minutes in and you can tell this man knows what it's all about
Absolutely in love with this set. Could not have en-captured the history of UK dance music any better throughout it if he tried. Jamie xx is a prodigy.
Agree
I appreciate that unique intro. Definitely loving that mixer too!
Dropping Functions on the Low, ON VINYL, one year before Stormzy used it for Shut Up. He really knows his music.
probably the finest dj set I heard on ages
Totally agree dude

Jamie, I come back to this set again and again. So good man💖💖💖💖
Listened through the whole thing. Twice. This dude knows what he is doing. Great dj, 10/10
only twice?

My first listen to this set - so far diggin' the oldskool breaks vibe!
This looks like such a chill summer evening. Good music with a few mates and a few tinnies.
Awesome to see someone drop some Durutti Column into a set. Impossible to dance to but...Respect!
Là, moi je dis on est bon! Je connais ce mix depuis longtemps. C'est toujours un plaisir à écouter 🥰
Awesome! Looks like a very fun time with some nice sounds!
adored this set, marvellous mixology
