Japan is strict about tattoos. Has to do with Yakuza and the sort. Clearly Casey's tattoo isn't similar to Japanese gang tattoos, but to them there might not be a difference.

@@saltycatagenda1520 this is correct, the main concern(atleast what my military friends have told me) is Yakuza being offended by non-yakuza ink.
First of all, why people with tattoos cannot take onsen? This is because there is recognition in Japan from historical background that tattoo, so-called Irezumi in Japan, is “something anti-social people get” or “something members of illegal organization such as gangsters get."

Typically tattoos mean you have relations to yakuza or something to the sort. Hopefully this helps clear up some confusion for you guys!! Dude, you're right about the park board. I'm starting to get away from the"park" board mentality. I haven't ridden it more than a few times this year. I've been forcing myself to hit more rails on my stiffer board, but faster. I decided to give my pow board (Ride Berzerker 156) a try today in the park cause I should have waxed my all-mountain board, and when I got the rails it was not bad at all, I was actually doing spin in/out stuff with it...Park board is gonna be rock/backup board now

There are actually a few buses that go directly from the airport to Niseko and back. Something like $40 one way. There's a stop at the Hirafu base parking lot. You guys should check that out if you don't want to worry about changing trains and lugging your stuff all over. Just make sure you make a reservation ahead of time.

Hey Casey, Did the buses and trains in Hokkaido take Suica or Pasmo cards? I used them in Tokyo on trains and even in convenience stores and some taxis. They are brilliiant. All you do is load them up with funds at a train station or maybe Lawson or 7-11 and you are good to go. touch them to the sensor pad like doing an eftpos tap transaction.

The JR Rail Pass is good for 7 or 14 days (whichever one you buy), and you must buy it before you arrive in Japan to get the best deal. You can buy online, or with HIS Travel in Los Angeles. It's good for anything JR operates (Train, Ferry, Bus, etc). Check out @Paolo fromTOKYO on YT for the best advice on travel, food, etiquette, etc for Japan. I cringed a ton watching Casey as there was obviously a lot to learn, but everyone is so nice that they'll never tell you and the stoke is high. The best thing you can do is rent a MiFi device and pick it up at the airport so you have all-day WiFi with your phone and sharable to 5 people. I use japan-wireless.com. Nice work spreading the stoke of Japan. Love the country!

Haha yeah I saw your google maps thing after I posted. But city mapper will give you the routes from a-b that include local public transportation such as trains and busses. I’ll have to look into google maps tho!
You can live translate Japanese in the Google Translate app so they can speak into your phone and it will spit out what they said (it's close it's not flawless)

JR train pass = $250ish for 7 days; $433ish for 14 days. no in between options. it covers almost all train rides that youd need. it does NOT cover like subway trains within tokyo and other major cities. what it covers are most of the City to City trains. And if you plan on taking more than 1-2 long train rides on your trip, it will likely save you money. plus is super convenient to use
