A fun challenge would be doing the budget per room challenge but any left over money is added onto the next rooms budget, or more challengingly, taken from next rooms budget

I think it would be a nightmare for infants though, they need SO much space for infants, or they end up doing tummy time outside in a thunderstorm. 😮💨

That might be because no matter how many times I click on the crib, my sim keeps putting the baby on the floor 😭
All I can imagine is one of the kids needing to pee in the night and having to wake up both parents, raise the Murphy bed, wait for them to finish, and put the Murphy bed back down to go to sleep… only for the kid to wake up a sibling when they get back into bed and that kid needing the bathroom!! This is an absolute nightmare IRL
As a kid I’d just climb on my parents bed to get around it. Ngl I’d do that now too 😂

Yes! She's done this fake room cheat in a few tiny houses now and it always disappoints me so much. There's a lot you can do with a micro home if you're creative, so it's annoying to be tricked into thinking I'm gonna see an actual 32 tile micro home build and then not get that.

maybe next time make it so the "fake room" is like all glass or something so you don't have to put a roof on! Or make the floor all separate carpet since those don't seem to get affected by the light😊
I would love to see a consignment/thrift shop build!!! No rules but when I did one back in the Sims 2, I tried to keep an overall theme to give me a direction for the items that would be sold there- I went more vampire/gothic theme, but I have also done one that an old couple bought together so all of their items were quite dated, almost like an antique shop. Would love to see if you could come up with a cool concept and see it built in Sims 4. So much fun!
Love the idea since in the sims 4 there is the flea market. It could be a nice challenge to use only furniture that comes from it. In my sims file I made an house with only stuff that my sim have made or collect dumpster diving. It could be fun to combine the things!

When I was playing the 100 babies (I haven't touched it since infants) I had the beds (bunk only) and showers inside and an outdoor kitchen. All of the toys were also outside, and there were multiple woohoo/pee bushes. The relationship bonuses from having the smallest house were awesome.
Question though, how did you deal with winter and it getting cold? I can’t get around not creating a sort of fake room (I lie to myself and call it an enclosed patio haha)

@@christie3288 if a roof is over an area, it counts as inside, even if it's floating with no walls. It won't rain or snow under it, and any thermostat cools and heats whatever is under a roof, no matter where it is. I build a 2X2 room off where the roof needs to be, place the roof, then delete the walls and floor. I usually place columns so it looks normal, but you don't need to.
Can you make a mansion with fake rooms that will still count as micro home? If you gonna cheat go hard or go home...

My 8 sim microhome has two sets of bunkbeds and a lot of bushes in the garden (handy extra toilets!), and requires a sleep rota so they're not too exhausted to work. I really enjoy the chaos, which is even better when you throw a party

When I made my 8 sim micro home, I utilized an outside shower situation. In Sri Lanka, every house comes with a well, even in houses with modern plumbing, and it's quite common for people to go in their bathing suit (or makeshift one lol) and shower directly with the well water. Some people even have just a simple shower head that's attached in less traditional homes. Boy did that help since I had more than one bathroom.

New challenge idea: each room is a different challenge. One room you might have a budget, the next you can only use a specific pack, another room only one color, etc
I like micro homes in my games because it doesn't take my sim 7 full sim minutes to walk from one side of the house to the other

I don’t understand the point in building a micro home and then using fake rooms to cheat it. May as well just build a regular house!
In debug, you can find atmospheric lighting that might help fix the lighting glitches. They come in multiple sizes & I think shapes too? And they show up as blue outlines in build mode, but are invisible in live mode.

More accurately, she only uses the highchair for infants, and never for toddlers, since toddlers can sit other places to eat, such as on their beds.
Is it just me, or does trying to construct a house for this many sims with all these building loopholes defeat the purpose of the challenge? I enjoy building as much as the next person, but to me the challenge is really figuring out to puzzle together the furniture while still making it playable, livable, and pleasant to look at. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but to me hacks like this are cheating at the challenge.

Watching this just makes my head hurt 😅 I don't know why she does this to herself. When I build tiny homes for baby challenges, I put the kitchen & living room outside under cover and with a not quite connected fence to stay safe from the elements 🤷♀️

maybe for the roofing, you can fake it by making a platform on the floor above it, add the roof piece you want to use, enable the moveobjects cheat to lower the platform and align the roof to the awkward spot, then delete the platform, and the roof should hopefully fill that spot

To save tile space, for say an extra bathroom you could have used floor paint tiles for outside
I would really love to see a micro home build like this where all of the rooms that are technically outdoors actually have to be kinda open to the outdoors in some way.

I used to play almost exclusively with tiny homes in the sims. Before the infant update I had one household with 6 toddlers in 64 tiles. It's definitely possible, but you have to be prepared to be fixing things constantly because with that many sims everything breaks constantly. lol
using fake walls in winter you get snow on the floor, because there's no roof :D

I would like to see a mixed challenge build. For example you need to build a micro home for 6 sims without making any mistakes ( and for example a random number generator will tell you how much the whole house should cost - 10000-20000)

I really don’t like the idea of cheating. If you wanna use perks of microhome - build a microhome, it has been done for a reason. Also puffs Simsie used in living room are technically tables so yeah, pretty useless://
I actually built the reference house Kayla used for this build for me High School Yeats play through last year. It became one of my favourite builds ever! So I got excited seeing Kayla use it too!
I pretty much copied the picture, so Kayla’s house was more creative than mine, but this is the first time she’s ever built a house I’ve used too. Forgive me for fangirling 😅

i've put also a children's canopy with flashlights and put beds under it, it is not considered part of the house, so it is very suitable
I have a building challenge, it’s called the Sculpture Challenge.
Build a house and decorate the outside as you normally would. You can also do the floor plan.
Then you will go to the sculptures tab in decorations. Close your eyes and grab a sculpture at random. Place it without looking.
Once it is placed, you can’t move it. Build around it, and design the house based on it.

It's not really a tiny house when you cheat for space. The "challenge" was only you accepting the floor looks weird. Otherwise why stop at that size house? Make a fake mansion, "tiny house". Just because it fools the game, doesn't make it a tiny house.
