The brain doesnt "finish" developing until around the age of 27ish. And I can tell you, as a 44yo I still feel like I change all the time. I grow, and learn, and change views and get new ones...I dont even have tattoos because 5yrs down the road, I may not want it. Its too serious of a decision to be made by children. period.

If you don’t mind never having an orgasm again, constant infections, bowel and bladder issues, being chained to constant upkeep and hormones…. sure, it’s a great surgery for everybody 18 and up.

I agree with that. Minors shouldn’t transition until they are 18. At the very least.

My opinion is children shouldn’t be on HRT, blockers or be given surgery. I think 18 is still too young. I also agree with you, I didn’t feel like an adult until 24/25 and I’m 27 now.
18 is technically an adult but it’s still so young. 18 you are barely out of high school.
I’m so glad to see that someone who identifies as “non-binary” holds these opinions. I think you are brilliant for waiting to get a double mastectomy.
I think you are brave for taking this stance, the Trans community can be absolutely ruthless.
    Much love ❤
Also want to make it clear that I don’t care what grown adults do with their bodies.

I definitely believe people should wait to get surgery until they are at least 18 years old. Many times children and teens rush into things without doing enough research or even understanding what will happen after they do get the surgery. Also children and teens are heavily influenced by what they think is popular at the time and this means more then likely making bad decisions.
So it's best to wait and do all ur research before hand and understanding all the risk involved

For me I came out a couple of months ago. I’m gender-fluid and I’m 35 years old. But I have kinda always knew that I was different from a young age however I don’t think that I wouldn’t have been able to make a proper decision about it until I was older. And for years I kinda just did wanted to do as far as presentation goes. So I wouldn’t be changing anything in that regard which is nice. And now I trying to get top surgery for my gender dysphoria. Until then I have started to bind. Which has helped a lot.

lol technically yes. I know you're just being a jackass, but yes, a handful of medical professionals believe that the desire for healthy limb amputation is symptomatic of a mental disorder that can be treated only by amputation, there is currently no consensus on what causes a person to desire such a disabling intervention.

I don't like to say "kids don't know what they want." But I will say that as they grow, what they want can certainly change and that's the critical part.
When I was a kid I was absolutely sure I didn't want a family or kids of my own. Fast-forward 7 or 8 years and now I do want a family. There's been plenty of things about me that haven't changed since that time. But there's also been plenty of things that have. I used to not care about having a good TV or having a good pair of headphones. Now I do. I gained a stronger appreciation for good sound and video. What you want can change and there's almost no telling what will change.
Luckily for me, not wanting kids when I was younger didn't damage my ability to have them now that I do want them. But for some things, that's not the case. Some choices you can't come back from. Some histories cannot be unwritten.

People who think kids really know what they feel when they change their opinions and minds so quickly after, as a kid I loved and still love feminine clothing/things I wear makeup now, I thought I was a girl when I was younger which was around the 2006-007 where myspace still was alive I was born in 2000 but that wasn't in my head after let kids be kids let them try new things, toys and stuff to want to play with, don't change their body because they say "oh I feel like a girl" I know not all change and still do feel the same way but I agree with you kids should be kids, I don't know what it's like to have dysphoria or things like it I wish I could understand but yea

@@KtheScreamerOfficial the fact of the matter is i live in florida too, so this is deeply personal to me
i didn't realize i was nonbinary until around the start of 2022, so i can't speak for people who realized as kids, but i can speak for the feeling of being held back from transitioning, because of other medical factors. the problem is surgery and hormones would be too risky.
i'm well aware that may be causing me to be biased, and i mostly commented to help with the youtube algorithm, but i would like people to understand where my sentiment is coming from as well.

Well they don't have surgery until 16-18, depending on the state, and hormones don't get be given until 16-18+, they least kids are getting, are hormone blockers. And that just blocks puberty from happening until they know what they wanna do and if the kid stops the blockers then their normal puberty will start. Kids who say they don't feel like the gender needs at least therapy and hormone blockers I believe

Minors can't get surgery and rarely get hormones but therapy and puberty blockers can be life saving. Blockers are completely reversible and can help a child feel more comfortable in their skin.

I knew that I was supposed to be a girl when I was three years old. Growing up in a fundamentalist Christian conservative republican family, childhood transition wasn't an option for me. That being said, I wish I could've. I'm saddled with unwelcome body changes because of puberty that is taking a literal small fortune to fix.
    Some facts about trans youth:
1 The vast consensus of the medical community agrees that transitioning is the most effective treatment for gender dysphoria.
2 In pre-pubescent minors, this consists of a change of name, pronouns, clothing, and hairstyles.
3 In trans kids who have an accepting home environment and are able to transition suicidal thoughts and/or attempts drops from 56% to 4%.
4 Puberty blockers are completely safe and totally reversible.
5 Gender confirmation related surgeries are not being performed on children.
6 Less than 4% of trans kids change their mind and identify with their assigned birth gender.
7 Gender Confirmation Surgery has the highest post surgery satisfaction with 98% approval.
8 The "detransition" movement is the modern ex gay movement with the same bad faith actors and bigots behind it.
