Those DC motors you've gotten used to won't last longer. As part of the Central Line Improvement Programme, the traction equipment is being upgraded from DC to AC. This includes new control equipment and motors. The ‘92 stock has suffered with the reliability of its DC equipment for many years and when the AC equipment is fitted to all trains, this should improve matters a lot.
