--------
Michael Jai White shared how he once nearly got shot in the head by another actor while filming a movie. In an interview with Vlad, he recalled how an actor, holding an empty gun on his head, accidentally squeezed the trigger. White walked away, prompting him to never allow such dangerous situations again. White also talked about firearm safety on set, mentioning that due to tight schedules and budgets, film crews may not be as experienced as required and sometimes might cut corners. This situation can result in severe accidents, as it happened on the set of "Rust," where Alec Baldwin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of a cinematographer. Remembering the tragic on-set deaths of Brandon Lee and Jon-Erik Hexum, White insists that safety measures around firearms on film sets cannot be compromised.
You have to admire the discipline it took this man to not give that actor a beat down for pulling the trigger 🔥👊🏾
The same discipline it takes to not Slap Vlad for over speaking him. ... all the time. This one was sooo annoying.. Vlad thinks he is explaining Something to MJW... yet he just told Ego Villain Vlad the same damn thing.
@@cabilgibbs Exactly! MJW is truly a plan of discipline because this clown VLad is ALWAYS over talking and interrupting his guests----truly a narcissist (which he himself even admitted). Aries Spears doesn't allow him to do that shit to him and there have been a few other guests who have continued talking knowing that VLad at any moment will interject and try over talking them.
What annoys me amongst many is that he knows the answers to every question he asks about a subject or the interviewer because he has a research team. Then acts surprised when the stories or ideas match. Almost like he tries to catch you in a lie
@@tonysmith4091 yeah
.. he can be quite annoying.. thats for Sure.
Yeah he does that because they are close friends
R.I.P Brandon Lee
Yeah he was going to be one of the greatest. He had that star in him. He was suppose to be the Leon in the matrix. Tragic man.

2024, still incredibly shocking...
Remake of the crow comes out in sept
If mind your own business was a person, it’ll be Michael Jai white.
He could stand to mind it more
@@GenesisGunn Its an interview, not an interrogation. What do you expect? 😂😂
@@GenesisGunn lol you’re one of the people who still mad that he said he could beat Bruce Lee, aren’t you
@@joojoobawYup, those mfs are forever butthurt and salty worshipping that man...
@@joojoobaw I am one of those people who have a life and only make comments in passing if something briefly grabs my interest. I don't know Bruce or Michael so maybe he can.
A blank still has a muzzle flash that burns as hot as a real bullet. It can definitely kill you or even cause you to go blind if you are careless in that way.
I had no idea
Facts
Wow really?? I didn’t know this.
Didnt some actor or director kill himself by shooting a blank close to.his head,
Michael must've been talking about the movie he played Mike Tyson were Teddy Atlas had him at gunpoint and shot off a warning shot. Surprised Vlad didn't catch that and hit us with a Teddy Atlas interview flash back. 😂😂😂😂
Thats exactly what I said!! Smart man.
Good catch!
I don’t know a lot of his movies but I was scouring the comments for this. I knew it wouldn’t be hard to pinpoint 😂😂
Cause Vlad didn't know that lol He doesn't know much about jack shit 2 be honest
Lol when he confronted him for f**king around with his 14 15 year old niece or cousin “What’s this about jamie”😂 think that was her name
Def underrated movie
Safety is EVERYONES responsibility.
He’s speaking about the Mike Tyson movie. Teddy Atlas scene
Smh…if Vlad starts interrupting someone not even a damn nuclear blast can make him shut up until he gets what he wants to say out! 😂
“It’s too expensive to shoot in LA” damn even the movie execs get outta LA to make movies 😂
Thank you Mike for calling Vlad on his Bullshit.
It was a blank that killed Brandon Lee too.
That was believed to be intentional
@@itsascaryworld9788it was not intentional at all, that particular gun had a shell lodged in the chamber and was not checked properly before use because the staff was overworked and exhausted and it dislodged and shredded his intestines
@@Jesoteric oh ok. I read and watched some videos that it was intentional as a payback for what Bruce did earlier in his career against Hollywood when they were discriminating against him.
@@itsascaryworld9788 just a myth
I mean, almost 20 years later after his father's death? And on 3/31/93 to add... That's a big coincidence... Huge coincidence.
Yooo that shirt is 🔥
Pretty sure on a movie set the armorer is responsible for loading and checking the weapons...yet nobody ever mentions her name
DAMN. If that blank was in there he wouldn't be talking to us right now. That's why Brandon Lee ain't around.
That's Michael Jai knowing his worth and sticking to his guns (no pun intended)
Vlad having to Google whether blanks can kill....of course they can. For one its still hundreds if not thousands of pounds of pressure travelling down the gun barrel in terms of the blast. Human flesh doesnt cope too well with that. Then there is whatever flys off the blank cartridge which is usually just crimped shut metal, which is obviously only going in one direction. Handguns is one thing but a shotgun is even worse. Gunshot wounds is an entire topic within the study of forensic pathology.
Surprised Vlad didn’t say “you don’t wanna mention it?? Ok tell me off air, I’ll get the scoop”. I remember he did that when they were talking bout Tyson buyin a female a house or something. Vlad never wanna talk about that home invasion tho……
He doesn’t talk about his meeting with Rick Ross the rapper either 😂
Is that the Mike Tyson movie when Teddy atlas put the gun to Tyson’s head?
That’s what I was thinking
Acting, set up, guns, whether on the set of acting or in an office; guns are real, situations are 'real'; what I feel strange to this date, I signed out a gun property to someone, not knowing it was loaded; the person kept pointing gun at me and I asked them to not point at me; of which I would move immediately out the way; I learned from that situation and lucky the true gun officer took over that job as it was theirs in the 1st place!!! You have to be safe, and aware of 'strange acting folk; sometimes it could be a setup to simply blow you away!!!' Thank God when you are saved from incidents like that!🙏🏽🙏🏽🦋🦋👀👀
The fastest definition reading all time
They put a young punk rocker girl in charge of gun safety. Genius.
Well, it is very punk rock to load live ammo
Thank you for helping me to understand what could have happened on the movie " Rust".
Michael always has a similar story for everything 😂
Very informative, didn't know a blank could kill you smh.
That's what killed Brandon Lee
@@kangjames6227I was just about to write that, but, you beat me to it. LOL. Gosh darn it.
Yeah. The guy Jai mentioned first was Jon Erik Hexum. Back in 84 when he was starring in the show Cover Up, he was filming a scene where his character was loading a gun and filming got delayed. He got bored and jokingly put a gun loaded with a blank to his head. He pulled the trigger and the bang sent a small chunk of his skull into his brain. They tried surgery to save his brain but he died 6 days later :(
Until the Alec Baldwin thing, I never knew that they used real guns in movies! I just always assumed they were fake.
-It would’ve been cool if MJW and Brandon Lee coulda had an action film together. Rapid Fire, Showdown in Little Tokyo was some badass Brandon Lee films.
5:57 Vlad looked it up, started readying it. Then MJW start talking right over him 😂😂😂😂😂
All the technology that exists, I don’t understand why they still use real guns.
All the movies that exist… and I can’t only think of two mishaps.
You can still get killed by getting shot with a blank...
@@1Deep43VAThree, including who was mentioned in this clip.
@@1Deep43VAbout 4-5 but for it to be one in the 2020s is outrageous work.
Because it’s cheaper
It is not the fire that kills you from firing a blank. It is the pressure differential and the immense amount of pressure.
a blank is a bullet with out the bullet tip basically. still has gunpowder in it
This is why you don’t say publicly that a DA is not going to be able to charge you.
Blanks have a cardboard/ polymer cap over the gunpowder to hold it in, that comes flying out at high velocities when the round is fired. While not a metal projectile, it can still kill at close range.
Michael Jai White NEVER SEEMS TO KNOW ANYTHING
You are right but I don't believe it.
Next time can you have Michael Jai Whit maybe breakdown the different responsibilities of maybe the producer to the executiv? producer and how the money if maybe allocated.
Key words: Alec Baldwin should be free to perform.
This was a horrible accident, not murder.
But if you are going to hold anyone accountable, it should be the armorer who loaded and had custody of the gun, and the 1st Asst Director who called out Cold Gun, claiming he'd checked it empty.
It was not an accident on their part
4:10 The Tyson Movie?
That's what I thought too
Same thing I thought . Scene outside the house
Holt McCallany
@@southlondon86 good call
Sware I thought he was gonna say he dodged the bullet while simultaneously knocking out the shooter 🤨
Wonder if he gonna show that clip of Steven segal in a interview talking shit about Micheal jai white
How didn't you hear about it??
I assume he doesn’t care. If you don’t read msm, it was essentially a non-issue.
The blanket lol hes definitely talking about tyson
WHOA WHOA STOP DONT SKIP THIS AD! (BOSLEY MEDICAL) that played right at 3:56. Tripped me the F out as I was rolling the El Producto....
Jon Hexum starred on a CBS show I used to watch named Cover Up.
In the brandon lee case they had a squib round. That means a bullet was stuck in the barrel after a live round was fired. No one checked the barrel before loading a blank. The blank had enough force to force the round out hitting him in the chest
He was referring to that mike Tyson movie, gotta be
Thats exactly what i said. I think Teddy said he let off a warning shot in his Vlad interview too, if im not mistaken.
It was on the Tyson film set I bet
The show that the guy killed himself was voyager. He explained things right an actor is used to being able to perform. You don't open, remove or change anything about the firearm once it's given to you by the armorer. They normally would let you look down the barrel to make sure there is nothing lodged there Sometimes you can see if the bullets are blanks before they load the magazine into the weapon.. Brandon was killed because of something lodged in the barrel, effectively making the blank a bullet. But I'll repeat, the actor doesn't open, remove or change anything after the weapon is handed over by the armorer. if they did nothing would get done since the armorer would have to start the whole process of re- prepping the weapon.
Baldwin wasn’t acting. He was screwing around pointing it at non actors and pulled the trigger.
Is that true? I ve heard that
His speech and mannerisms, while speaking today, sound like the beginning stages of ALS. I hope all is good!!
What 😂
I bet Michael is referring to the scene in that hbo Tyson movie. I remember the guy holding a gun to his head and threatening him outside of a house.
Isnt it aomeone else's job to make sure the gun wont actually fire a bullet, before it gets to the actor?
Yes.
But sense the one guy is a producer, there trying to put some of the blame on him......
@@tombondcrispy6585 oh okay. Yeah that's jacked up. It should be fully the prop departments job.
Thats the Tyson movie. Teddy Atlas scene
How is Alex being charged?
Being a returning guess up here got to be the worst. Smh
Wtf is a returning guess, lmao
It’s guest & how is being relevant enough to get call backs the worst?
In this day and age, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO USE A REAL GUN in a movie.
Had a sgt in Iraq blow his brains out,he was playing russian rouette wih his side arm in the motor pool. I'm just taking a very-WILD-guess here,he didn't check the weapon before handling it. Then once coming back from a night mission,we all cleared our weapons into a sand dune ( we always did this to make sure no negligent discharge happens on the base. The guy right next to had a negligent discharge with a-SAW ( squad-automatic-weapon ) I saw a muzzle flash, then jumped back wards to avoid getting my foot blown off. LOL. Then I lunged after the soldier ( he was an E-4 )to bust his &&& !!! LOL. But,thank God 2 sgts held me back. The young soldier had to go see our battalion commander over this. LOL.
They said Joe Peci demanded a real gun in the shooting death of Spider, he said he wanted to feel it really go off and get the feel of murder.
I'd like to think that would be forbidden in 2024.
JON-ERIK HEXUM the star of "VOYAGERS" was killed by a blank while on set.
How does he not know about this Baldwin incident and he's in the industry?
Yes a blank can kill you at close range it's still chance of tiny projectile coming out of it and then the pressure alone
He said he didn't know know anything about it but said later that he heard something about it. He's not straight forward in interviews, maybe a way not to ruffle feathers!
I believe he was saying that he knew about the original shooting, but hadn't heard that Baldwin had just gotten charged for it since that was pretty recent.
Boy was tryna get his ass gone that wun no mistake
VLAD stay trying to fact check MJW with his google searches. The man said blanks can kill you from close range...you really didn't have to search that. Com'on
I wonder what movie he was talking about.
Alec Baldwin should have checked the gun...never assume around dangerous weapons..
This entire murder case is literally insane. But the fact is that person who is getting handed a gun, automatically becomes resposnible for that weapon and whatever action happens next. Therefor there is no ifs or buts or whats about it. Alec Baldwin is directly responsible for what happnend that day, dosnt matter who's gun or what ammo was or wasnt there. Hisoll responsibility as a "owner of the weapon" is to make sure to follow basic firearm steps:
Always Keep Firearm Pointed in a Safe direction. Never point your gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Treat All Guns as Though They are Loaded.
Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger until You are Ready to Shoot.
Always Be Sure of Your Target and What's Beyond It.
I guess no more filming movies in New Mexico.
To ask if a blank can kill you when it's pointed directly at your head is unbelievable C'mon Vlad SMH
Holt McCallany is the actor 😂
surprised Vlad didnt say he was shot at in a movie
Lee hornsby in rhe 80z
_This is exactly what happened to Bruce Lee‘s son, fragments of a blank went off into his chest, piercing through his heart_
Michael Jai White's nickname should be "Almost". He was almost a paid hitman.
Pretty much all the bullshxt we deal with on a daily basis, is due to corporations trying to save a bit of money lol… the trash ingredients in the food, the toxic containers, trains derailing, planes delayed, rising costs of gas, drink bottles and packages of snacks making it so that there is less actual substance inside, businesses with not enough staff or registers open, cars less safe, cheap building materials and pre-fab houses….. yeah most things…. Save a bit of money on the front end, get hit with class action lawsuits on the backend
🤦🏾 *Damn, could've Brandon Lee Michael!*
RIP to The Lee Father&Son. 🙏🏾
I remember when John Eric Hexum accidently killed himself.....Phineas Bog on Voyagers
6:13 JOHN ERIK HEXUM
In the military we are brutally trained that there is no such thing as a empty weapon
PERIOD!!!
AND WHY does no one ever talk about the SECOND PERSON that was also SHOT on set?
HGH got MJW slowing down
Why won't he let MJW tell the story?
Its Vlad lol
Actors are insane with the gunplay - Why would anyone allow another person to point a gun at them under any circumstances when an accident could occur just for a role in a film it's ridiculous
No disrespect to the dead, but Jon-Erik Hexum was absolutely foolish for pointing that blank at his head. That was a .44 mag!!
Probably on one of the many D list movies he’s done spawn is the top for him don’t know nothing else..😂🤣😂🤷🏾♂️

Whats going on with these supposed to be acting shooting deaths . Katt Williams said this in the interview shay and we all know the crow and lees son , plus Michael
I've been around guns my entire life , I always keep them pointed in the safe direction and I always treat them as if they. There no such thing as being too safe with a firearm. The armorer is at fault. PS I can't stand Alec Baldwin.
