To Die For was one of my cinematic awakening’s which I watched as a very young child and it made an indelible impression lol. Watched it earlier this year when it was streaming on the criterion channel and my god I cannot wait to watch this perverse little film again 😅🥲🥹😇😈

The Devil and Daniel Webster or All That Money Can Buy sounds like the most interesting film of the March announcements to me. Thank you for the video and giving your thoughts on the announcement Daisuke, I hope you’re doing well and will have a great weekend. Take care!

My favourite film of 2022 was All The Beauty and the Bloodshed and I’m so pleased to see that Criterion Collection.

I think this is a super interesting month of releases from Criterion. I love To Die For and will definitely be picking that up. I've never seen All That Money Can Buy but it sounds right up my alley. The rest are very intriguing, too.

I remember ordering this on vhs before I got into laserdisc and it was always the 85 min cut version the first time the 106 min version became available was when the Criterion laserdisc was released I remember I was real excited when this was released finally the uncut version

I haven't seen any of the films in this bunch, so I'm glad to have the chance to be introduced to new cinema

Daisuke! It's a treat to hear the March Criterion releases from you this weekend. I've heard The Devil and Daniel Webster mentioned on this channel on maybe more than one occasion which would lead me to discovering that this is obviously an essential film. I'm so excited for this re-release for a new opportunity to see it myself! Bernard Herrmann score?!? Sign me up! Your passion for The Runner definitely has my attention. You are right that Saint Omer has an intense synapsis that could lead to a heavy viewing experience indeed. It is cool to hear your thoughts on To Die For. I've never seen this film but Nicole Kidman is a great actress. Have you ever seen her in the miniseries Big Little Lies? I was really into that a few years ago. I'll have to keep my eyes on this upcoming release with her. Criterion continues to open my eyes to many films I would otherwise not have as good a chance at seeing. Thank you for harnessing such good movie-viewing fuel as always, my friend. Have a great weekend as of the time of this comment! Cheers!

Thanks Daisuke. I’m struggling with this set of movies. Maybe Saint Omer.

I recently watched Dieterle's Hunchback of notre dame 1939: a very impressive film, atmosphere and performances were superb, I'm surprised its not available from one of the prominent boutique labels.. I agree with another comment below, would have preferred GVS's Elephant. also any Iranian film is a plus

I would prefer much more Van Sant's Elephant than To Die For. But that's it.

Haven’t commented here in a long time, and this is probably the first month in a while that I haven’t heard of any of the titles released before now, but I will hopefully check out some of them with open mind.
A minor correction, if I may. 6:11 I clicked on the DVD release for All That Money Can Buy aka. The Devil and Daniel Webster, it shows “now available” and the cover changes to the earlier DVD version with the line logo. So I believe this title will be blu-ray only, with the earlier DVD version still in print. It will be an interesting comparison when the blu-ray comes out next March!

Love your reviews man. Please keep doing them!
Also a question: is there any movie you have seen in Japanese that westerners may never get?

Good day. I continue being surprised which movies are picked up Criterion and those that are waiting someplace. I'm thinking of Peter Greenaway, for example, and his beautiful movie, "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Mother, " Any idea why his movies haven't made it on the list or did I miss them? Thank you.

Now that you live in LA, how does it feel getting to make these videos in a drastically different time zone?
