R.I.P. Nora
Mr. Lydon... if you're reading this...
Please accept our dearest and deepest condolences...
From My Family to Yours...
You were with her all the way...
Hang in there Bud...
From "This is Not a Love Song" to an actual love song.... what a song.. marvellous.
The most admirable thing about John, is that is genuine, always been. I love this song
Oh my my my. Thank you John. I paddled outrigger canoe for 8 years representing Sacramento California. All the time PIL powered my every stroke. John, this is the most perfect love song- AND YES IT IS A LOVE SONG!
It may not have won Eurovision, but it's won our hearts
Indeed so 😊
I’m an American but from what I know about Eurovision it’s trash anyway.
Some goblin looking witch was getting a lot of press. If that’s what Eurovision is John shouldn’t be slumming with it anyway.
John Lydon is both a British and Irish national treasure. A great ambassador for the close ties of culture and family across our islands.
Rest in Peace Nora. Stay strong, John 💕💕💕
Doesn't matter about Eurovision. This track deserves world-wide recognition. Top bloke for bringing awareness to Alzheimers and Dementia.
Yes agreed!!
I give respect to John.
He's better than euro
ELVIS COSTELLO circa 1978
Awesome and beautiful ❤
Two weeks ago this made me cry as my Mum was suffering from Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia. She had a stroke 5 days ago. I sang these words to her just before and then after we lost her yesterday morning. The words are so powerful
I'm sorry to hear about your mum, Susan. Be gentle with yourself as you grieve, give yourself time to do so. Listen to your heart & you'll still hear your mum talking to you, always. I promise.
Big hug
Hugs from a hollywood punk
Blessings and healing thoughts Susan..
Rest in peace Nora. What a lovely testament to John’s devotion to her this song is and now she has gone even more pertinent.
My sympathies to John Lydon on the passing of Nora. I am playing this with tears in my eyes for you. Bless you both. 😢❤️😢
John changed my life as a 16 year old when I first heard the pistols and I followed him ever since. And now that teenager has gone and am a 63 year old I find myself once again being drawn towards John and his lyrics and messages . This song is probably the most important one of all as he tells his story. people like me and millions of others who have cared for family with dementia totally hear this and once more John has reminded us all how much of a bloody working class hero he is. I wish him and Nora all the best.
Johnny showing yet again his humanity and compassion especially to his partner in life..such trials they never end do they? No future no future for you..and us to mate..lol namastex
RIP Nora. My Mum's journey ended on January 16th with dignity and respect. Was such a privilege to be at her bedside when she reunited with my Dad. Beautiful lyrics can remember dancing in St.Andrews age 17 punk rocking in the park and on the beach. Bless you all 💞
Same age as you, followed John since the beginning of the Pistols , had the best interview in my life With John in London and love this wonderful song. PiL will be my first show in october since i've decided to stop going to concerts ..
Simply the best
A beautiful musical statement of love...written for his dear wife, Nora, as she spends her final moments with her husband. I have to believe that the sparse, gentle and relaxing backing track and, simple, poignant and highly personal/meaningful lyrics resonates deeply with Nora - even as she continues to decline with her health. This is a really special piece of music.
We are incredibly fortunate to be invited into John and Nora's world to enjoy this beautiful love letter to Nora.
Well said
Hawaii is the new Ohio
@@MissX33 schizo
@Solo traveler True. But, John has publicly stated that he is her carer now as she enters the last chapter in their lives together. I hope that they have as many days possible together and, her decline is not a cruel one.
I was never intending "days" to mean her last couple of days. It could very well be hundreds.
Cheers
Literally couldn't say better thank you

Oar Sum! 🙏
What's with HI song? Are you in HI now? Just thrilled.. the drums are great.
Bandcamp please!
Thank you John
I can’t stop playing this and getting emotional!
No words apart from ….
Beautiful lyrics, sentiment, heartfelt for his wife and his best work.
God bless you both, and any other families dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s ❤
I love this song and I would have loved to have seen John represent Ireland 🇮🇪
i am editor of seniors newspapers and do a lot of stories on dementia. This is such a beautiful powerful statement about what this disease does to the carer, the husband or wife as they try and keep the memories alive for their partner and for themselves. The clip just ads to what is already an important, beautiful and honest love letter. Dementia is often a very lonely road for the carer and this song puts that to the forefront.
I put my life on a shelf to help my folks half a decade ago. My mum passed away in July from Alzheimers / dementia. Hope 2024 provides a time to rebuild, like me. Good luck. - you silly sod and thanks for the great stuff along the way.
Crying and listening thinking of Maui. This is an important overlooked song PIL never stopped making meaningful music for their Ohana and Hawaii
He’s still one of the best frontmen of all time. That doesn’t change, And I think it’s because he’s always really told what he really saw and felt, even when that was ugly and unpopular. He did it with songs like “bodies,” and “God save the Queen” he’s doing it with his wife’s illness. That’s what makes his work go in the different direction to most and be so much better than most. I mean this is the guy that changed the entire direction of punk, into an art form that would call out wrongs others wouldn’t, and thought about “how things are and is that right,” far more than most. I’m glad he’s still singing. He’s still making the world confront fears like old age and watching a partner slip away. Things we don’t mention they’re so scary.
All the very best to John and Nora.
John sang this at Sheffield the whole audience was silent throughout..when he finished he turned round and you could see how much it meant to him..legend and a absolute gentleman to chat with after the Sheffield gig
This song is so beautiful, and knowing that it's about his wife makes me love it even more.
It's quite difficult to describe how beautiful this is. There aren't enough words to adequately describe a lifetime of love between two people. To say you are loved can only really be understood by the people involved. Here's to John and Nora. X
I agree. It's very beautiful and it's hard to find any words worthy to describe a lifetime of love
@@ipoison3862 She passed away today 😢
What an amazing song by such a nice bloke... Clearly the love you have together since your wife's illness is as strong as ever John!! Treasure these times as u have the rest of your life together!! Love to u both
🙌💜😭🥹🫠 love to PIL and John's wife , hope everyone can enjoy peace and love during these tender times, really touches the soul. I'm so happy you guys have each other during this time, And that like others have said we're fortunate enough to have a peak into that to love and appreciate it, so deep...
He has always been real, and his integrity is now at its strongest. Bless you, mate, and thanks for being with so many of us on this ride through life.
@@TangentChaos how nice is he though yo be a Trumper?
@@intersection5664 give it a rest with he been a trumper as you call it so he voted to leave Europe too, all I saw the other day was don’t vote for him he voted for brexit & trump he is entitled to his views as are you & everyone else but that should have had nothing to do with not voting for him his song not only was a love letter to his wife but also the painful reality that millions of people have to watch their loved ones go through, and by the way world was a lot more stable both financially and no wars when trump was in office than now, I hope you never have to watch a love one go through this, take care👍
@@intersection5664 Why bring politics into it when the far left murdered 100/200 million in the 20th century! educate yourself I did and it's not pretty what the far left does,.
My heart goes out to you Mr Lydon. Sad to see the news this morning. This is a touching tribute to Nora.
Real life. Real love. Real freedom.
RIP Nora and lots of strength to John & family ❤
When John Lydon sings a wholehearted love song one thing you know is that it is sincerely felt.
Breathtakingly beautiful.....of happy memories gone by.
We love you John. I’ll be voting tonight. Lost my Ma to Alzheimer’s last year. Thinking of you.
My mum who's 90 is just starting this journey with dementia/alzheimer's this song brings a tear to my eyes
She's now had a fall and broken her hip
I'm Sitting here listening to this song pondering the future 😢
This man is a god and an all time legend and should be running the whole universe. He speaks the whole truth and MPs and world leaders could learn a lot off him. God bless you and your wife John.
This is beautiful- and so very special. It's a timeless lovesong and very special feelings.
Beautiful song for his lovely Nor RIP x
You consistently surprise, what a gift to your wife and to us for taking the time to record it and post. Thank you.
So beautiful, incredibly moving and very very sad. Crying my eyes out now. Sending much love and hope to John and Nora. 🙂
Please vote PIL Hawaii. Beautiful song.
Bless Nora and John. 🙏🇮🇪
Beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thank you John! This song hits me hard in my emotions, my family is dealing with our dear 92-year old mother suffering through the final stages of Alzheimer's. I see and hear her deteriorate more each day, she doesn't even know who i am anymore most days. Much love to your wife and you John.
So cruel. So hard
I'm in floods of tears, and I'm sure anyone else who has loved ones with this cruel disease will be too ....... Thank you John .
Great!
To good for eurvision. It's a beautiful song beautiful melody and words, your a beautiful man john .xx
So not PiL but so Pil. Love to you and Nora John Boy.
Im irish...this is a tribute to John's wife..its a heartfelt and beautiful song...God bless you John...should have won Eurovision!❣️
Thoughts are with you all. Will give this a play today. Dementia is the cruelest of them all. Much respect to John Lydon on giving nothing but love and care at this much important stage of life. All you can ever wish in life is to be authentically you and loved for it. I know there is so much more behind these words that you sing because I lost my mum to dementia and can hear you singing them at your beautiful wife's bedside to her in a much different way to here. There is nothing but love and beauty. Thank you for looking after her ❤
wow...wonderfull
You are loved Johnny. So sorry for your loss.
Didn't make it. The usual stuff was voted in. Beautiful song. John looked very emotional
My eyes filled up when I heard this song, as I watch my aged disabled mother slip
away each day. We have never been to Hawaii but have been to LA where Johnny
now lives. Thanking you Johnny, for the Love you have for your wife, and for me
the Love I have for my Mother here in the UK.
A remarkable man
Mighty good bloke John Lydon...... this song grows .........Hawaikinui!!!!!!!! Tender brother.
What an amazingly deep feeling I get from this song.
People grow and change when they love deeply, and John touches my heart in a way he never did as a pistol.
Will be sharing this
I'm from Hawaii and this song touched my heart. Not just because it's about Hawaii but because the simple lyrics invokes so much emotions of loving and caring for someone with Alzheimer's. Being a caregiver is a labor of love and loving someone who is going through it, you go through it with them and they remember you because you shared a special bond and a very special memory - You hit that special cord that triggers the memory of Love. Aloha which means hello and goodbye.. the beginning and the end "...all journeys end, some begin again... " Love and bless you Johnny and Nora
@@eddieriff2531 Aloha to you too ! Thank you ♥️
Those who have a musical mind could substitute the voice of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole here, and you would have another mega hit!
"Some journeys end, some begin again." Beautiful.
Wonderful
Right on Johnny and crew. Can really feel your love and appreciation for Hawaii. We will use this track in our surf films/edits. Let us know if you need archive surf footage in the future. Aloha
Such a beautiful song with a beautiful back-story. God bless you, John,
Wonderful, just wonderful track about love.
I like this.......🌼
The melody. The lyrics. The authenticity. Nothing rotten here.
John, sending positive vibes. Hope the wife is doing better... We Love You.
God bless you Johnny love and respect from Greece !!!!
Fantastic tune
How John can take such a simple song and make it meaningful and full of emotion is a talent he's had since he was a young man. Nobody else does it as well as him. John, I hope all is well with you and your wife. I hope I can see you one more time in concert!
Beautiful tune. Love conquers everything.
Come on Eire vote for this ❤️
Beautiful😢❤🎉
Nora you are indeed loved by John “no need to cry in pain, you are loved❤” A simple beautiful powerful song❤
I lost my Grandmother to Alzheimer's, so this song really hits home for me. Someone I am very close to and also have many good memories with lives in Hawaii (they are from there), so this track hits me doubly hard. Beautiful song.
So beautiful!
RIP Nora
My wife of 45 years suffered a major stroke last year its been hard work but wouldn't miss a day ive still got her with me.
Lovely track and reasons behind it.
Hope its a massive hit
Everyone back in the time had a feeling that you were exploding with agression. You had HATE on your t-shirt but now I am sure - it read: LOVE. Thanks for your long-term fight for humanity, you were and you are an inspiration. Warms hugs from Warsaw to you and your wife.
Some people understood it was ironic. The punks didn't hate Pink Floyd. It was just a way of saying "We are here. We are new and we want to brush away the cobwebs. Out with the old!", but that was a bit too long for the tee-shirts.
Thanks John from South Australia 🇦🇺
Absolutely beautiful I watch this very very often ..it does my heart good .. beautiful people rest in perfect peace beautiful lady ..beautiful tribute Johnny
Thoughts to everyone in Hawaii ❤
What a Beautiful Video and such a moving Song. I'm not ashamed it brings me to tears every time I hear it.
Beautiful is an understatement.
Thanks for this Beautiful Song Public Image.
Brilliant
I'm sorry brother - Love from US.
This is such a beautiful song. His voice is so heart 💖felt. When he says aloha that means hello and goodbye in Hawaiian, I think of the ones dear to me that have gone on😢. I also know their energy has been dispersed💫 and in many ways they are still here with me. I know we will meet again, aloha😌
Please Irish brothers and sisters, do the right thing 🙂👍
wot, is it election time agin?
We will. Alzheimers took my Mum some years ago. This is a lovely piece celebrating John's love for Nora. It does resonate with me and I'll be voting for it on Feb 3rd. However. I think, John does need to push the Irish representation issue a little more. The National Contest is the first hurdle. If it wins, it's gotta be for John, Nora & Ireland. There are other new acts in the National Contest proud to represent their country. Right now, the impression from John & indeed the other posts is that who PiL seek to represent is being overlooked. That can't be overlooked as it does deserve the full potential exposure in Liverpool. Not a beef but more a helpful observation. Hope he picks up the Gong.
@@JoeBob1905 😯 I'm totally out of the loop. I got a notification 9 hours ago, and that was the first I've heard about the song. This is my first clue about the contest and the song having a purpose beyond not being a not-love song.
@crnkmnky Thanks for coming back. I don't think you're alone on this one and guess that only serves to prove my point.
It has to be sent. The other songs don't even compare. The usual bunch of also-rans that won't make it to the finals.
Beautiful. A lasting memory RIP Nora.
Tear jerker dear Johnny boy, 😢😢😢, much love to you and yours from a barmy summers ebening down here in new🥝🥝🥝zealand, where it’s 🍺🍺🍺oclock, oh, and as for thy arsenal . . . . “DARE TO BELIEVE “ . . . . 🥳🥳🥳
Admiration, love, and respect to John n Nora
God bless you John and Nora ♥️💯♥️
God bless you, John. I admire you so much. Greetings from Dallas, Texas! We are only on this Earth for short while. Let us rejoice in every single day that we are allotted.
Beautiful song John
Anarchy in the Hawaii 😜
Normally don't comment but PIL in eurovision would be the best thing to come out for Ireland! Saw them live in Belfast. You can't get better than John Lydon and the guys. Someone who has always been genuine in the music industry and held the ethos of Punk in everything he does. And the song is a true homage to the love he has for his wife. Good luck PIL!
Loved you as a 13 yr old, love you as a 59 yr old.
SO sorry to hear that Nora passed. We love you John.
Prayers to you Mr. Lydon on the loss of your beautiful Nora. Gorgeous song.
RIP Nora. Sending thoughts to John. He was a wonderful husband to her
Good luck tonight lads, Ireland loves PiL!

Incredible song for an incredibile love. A man who leads by example. Always. God Bless you and Nora.
You never nearly made me cry with your music before.
"Rise" and this for me

And this is a love song...a beautiful beautiful love song
The song and the video have moved me enormously. the love he feels for his wife is most moving. good luck Johnny
