The whole song is a double entandre between eminem before taking the stage to do a show and the through the mind of paddock
It’s a triple it deals with his drug issues too
ITS A TRIPLE ... INCREDIBLE
Ok I'm glad other people picked up on the triple I thought it was just me
I know this is a reaction channel for our entertainment but I just wanna say I'm terribly sorry you had to go thru that and I hop you can let it keep making you strong er and keep your head up. Stay strong. And thank you for doing these reactions.
Its also when em was addicted to drugs
This song is “Stan”-level deep.
Its more deep because of the details and the reality of the situation
Deeper than Stan...
Came rewatch this because it's too deep..
From Soweto South Africa
Bro white America is "deep"
@@monarchgupta2712 the term "white america" is stupid its called the melting pot dumbass
@@emersontrench1354 he was referring to the song White America by Eminem… dumbass.
In my opinion songs like Darkness are the the magnus opum when it comes to the musical artform, crafted out with a uncomparable amount of detail and work, made to raise awareness and a true reason behind it's existence. One of a kind.
This song and stan
The funny thing about this is that CZcams never recommends this song and the majority of the public are getting offended and going on the news to just shit on it. That’s why it only has 40+ million views, CZcams and the mainstream media are trying their best to hide this song
The similarities between what the media is portraying now with George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmad Arbury in comparison with this should not be overlooked. This was a terrible tragedy, and it should always be remembered as such. But should the police killing innocent men and women also be treated as domestic terrorists? I think they should, because their motive, as we see it now, is to instill fear into the Black community and those who stand with them as people who deserve a different treatment than whites or anyone who sides with the BLM movement. Instead, the cops using and abusive their use of force or power should be the ones that are "terrorizing" normal, upstanding citizens standing up for what is right instead of bowing down to them because they passed some arbitrary test to "deserve" their power instead of earning it by their actions. There are good cops, but we have to start somewhere by getting rid of the bad ones.
Thats deep!!
“Detail” *guy pulls bolt carrier back on sniper rifle*. *proceeds to shoot full auto out of a bolt action sniper rifle*
Man, it’s really hard to witness someone reliving their worst trauma. Hope you’re ok
I dont think shes got no trauma
lol
She was probably there on day 1 and not day 3 but yeah “I was there” lol
Nothin but haters man. And what if you guys are wrong and she was there? Ya’ll would feel like assfaces
@@atlbraves1983 she literally said that she was one of the people that was running during the shooting. Listen before you assume
"Licenced owner with no prior convictions" hits hard everytime
'thats political' and shuts it off and doesn't wanna talk about it, America in a nutshell
Crazy huh.. a country full of people that don't want to be told how to think... its almost like this country was founded on freedom.. allowing the media to manipulate you is a form of slavery, no thank you. Ill do my own research and make my decisions based on facts, not emotions.
Or maybe it's a sensitive subject and doesn't feel up to having a discussion on something that effected her so much? Don't be so quick to judge.
Stephen Crane or maybe one would hope that by now one would realize that “politics” is the only it can change. That she’d understand that if she truly doesn’t want someone else to have to go through that, legislation is the only key. Staying stagnant and paying no mind to what the government does is the most surefire way to ensure that this shit happens over and over and over again. In the case of this guy (www.reviewjournal.com/crime/shootings/las-vegas-shooting-survivor-killed-in-california-bar-during-attack-1522422/) it can happen to the same person.
@@thetruth777 oh yes, the country of all hopes and dreams and... uh mass shootings.
But sure, let`s not talk about that. And the facts are clear, America has like a mass shooting per year(at least), yet sure this is all emotions. It´s crazy how this happens in a so claimed developed country...
Yes, the solution in big bold letters in your screen and just turning it off as political? Realy🤷🏾♂️
Watching her relive her worst nightmare is heartbreaking, You and everyone who has gone through something like that are the bravest people in the world Stay strong.
The "Hello Darkness, my old friend" sample from Simon and Garfunkel is deep. Not many samples go back as far as 1963 (The year Kennedy was assassinated, from a gun aimed from a window overlooking the excited crowd that was simply there for a day of fun, a celebrity having come to town). This genius stuff is 7 levels deep.
The thing I find that’s crazy too is that “ Sound of Silence “ is about people knowing all these bad things in the world yet we don’t talk about it and keep ourselves in the Darkness.. and Em used a song about the silence to speak up about Gun Violence.. he’s literally responding to the song he’s sampling.. genius 🐐
and years later, nothings changed@@douglasmijangos3327
I remember when the video came out, nobody knew it was about Las Vegas shooting. there was no note at the beginning. It blew my mind when they showed the shooter (in the part where he smashed the window). i thought the whole time, he was talking about some kind of depression. Man, thats why hes a genius in my opinion
Yea I watched the night it was released and I caught on to what it was about once I saw the duffel bag.. but even though I wasn't there that night.. I remember all the news clippings and live videos from concert go-ers.. I remember the screams and people running across the streets, jumping into the nearest cars that were just driving by.. it had to have been so scary. Just watching a survivor from that night react to this was so uncomfortable. I can't imagine how she felt.
it honestly kind of ruins it that they forced Em to put that in probably. Even though he had links at the end of the video for help and to vote on change. :( it loses it's impact
I always knew this was about Vegas how could you not know that
@@troy65741 at the first minute the video and song came out, you already knew it was about the vegas shooting? Good for you mate 😅
@@troy65741 because when it came out a midnight with no hints from anyone obviously going in blind as all hell you wouldn't know. Especially without that warning at the beginning (like when it was first out)
Girl....you’re stronger than me. I was there that night and zero way I could record myself watching this..I don’t know why I keep watching stuff from that night... but I do. Massive props to you for this.
One of the most powerful things about the song is that when it comes to the shooting it's not "watered down". It has shock value.
The Sound Of Silence was written a year after JFK was shot from a high vantage point. I don’t think this was a coincidence with Eminem incorporating it into the song.
My friend shot up our school but it wasn't a mass murder he only killed two people before he took his own life, one of the people was an ex who cheated on him with a guy who bullied my friend. I was good friends with him and I was friends with his ex but I was mad at her for what she did at the time. The day before he did it he told me he was gonna shoot someone tomorrow but he said it in such a joking non serious way and he seemed perfectly fine too. No one would have suspected he was serious nor have reported it, the next day he shot her in the temple right in front of me then her boyfriend 3 times in the chest before aiming it back at himself and taking his own life. It all happened so fast, I still vividly remember the surreal feeling I got, the smell in the air that day. The exact conversation I was having word for word before blood splattered on my left arm and my right hand.
Something needs to change, and the first thing is mental health awareness. USA's mental healthcare system is a joke, I've had 2 friends come out from them worse than what they were when they went in and almost nothing is taken seriously until it's too late.
Jesus!! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Mental Illness is such a real thing...... it’s heartbreaking
Sounds like you should've been arrested.
@@ceezeeemowndeadzombie4014 The point of darkness and what I said is to prove that mental illness or psychotic breaks aren't always shown, some people are unpredictable. We both had a dark sense of humor and he said it in a sarcastic way, their was zero indication or reason to believe he would do it. Do I regret it? Sometimes, but I try not to blame myself for something no one could of handled any better than me but sometimes I fail at trying.
I took a career up in psychology to try and understand myself more and why people make these decisions so I know more about human behavior than you and even I am telling you him going from a funny kid full of light to a murderer was not foreseeable. But keep blaming me for it, as if I don't hear about it enough.

@@rickychristopher1578 Doesn't matter dumb ass. It's 2020. If someone says they're going to shoot someone at a school you report it. You're an idiot if you don't.
when Eminem talked about the father he was also relating to himself as he had no relationship with his father
Yes i think he never saw him
Martin Kollar he hasn’t at all. Have you listen ems song leaving heaven. It talks about his father.
He had contact with his father but in the end his "father" wasn't really that at all, just a dipshit who decided to leave, so he did see him as it is mentioned in leaving heaven but he never liked him and so that translated into a lot of his music, just the hatred.
Eminem is just a lyrical genius he makes you feel emotions you never knew you had
Great reaction, and hope you're still doing okay.
But just please don't dismiss the ending of the video as 'political'. I thought the same when I saw the 'vote' word, but it's very serious. Idk how much research you ended up doing on the shooter, but the way he obtained his weapons were all totally legal, and THAT'S the point of this track: to vote for some gun reform/control. Just because someone is mentally stable and has no criminal record doesn't mean they should have UNLIMITED weaponry. And the craziest thing is even after that shooting NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. This track is trying to make people realize that and make a difference so it doesn't happen again.
There are too many gun laws as is. Over 300 federal firearm regulations and over 20,000 local and state firearm regulations. The government has already vastly overstepped. Don’t beg to the government to have your rights taken away.
It's absolutely political. He wants political solutions to put restrictions on an amendment. I'm from Flint, MI, 45 min north of Em, so I've loved him since the late 90s, but I'm deeply opposed to his take, despite the brilliance of the song.
@@davidvaughn9 I agree, I guess I meant there's more to it than just politics regarding voting specifically. People just see 'vote' and somewhat dismiss what they've been presented bc they think it's pushing an agenda for personal gain. I was trying to avoid that.
But I agree his intention is to make political change. Tbh I'm not sure what his exact stance on it is but it's clear that he's pointing out that someone with no history of mental illness can purchase military grade weaponry capable of murdering dozens/hundreds, and then one day snap and use that arsenal; and this is what happens.
What do you disagree on btw?
@@HC-sb5ck just because there are numerous doesn't mean they are good/enough. The point of the video is that someone who was sane can legally purchase these weapons capable of murdering so many and then snap. I don't see why citizens need fully automatic weapons period. All this military grade weaponry open to the public is insanely ridiculous and even more ridiculous you don't see a problem with that. An average Joe shouldn't be able to go out and buy a rocket launcher.
What about this is hard to agree with? Why do you feel entitled to own these weapons?
@@vick7848 military grade fully automatic weapons aren’t available to the public 💀💀 you’re either stupid as fuck or a troll. I believe you’re the latter so I will not even try to engage with you.
"I reached for the scope" as he reaches for the scope brand looking mouthwash. I love that its even a double in the music video.
This is why I love rap. Such intelligent, visceral lyrics. Hit so hard. Great reaction.
This is without a doubt the deepest most emotional song of Eminem's career
I've watched 100 reactions to this n this song is so underated...the whole song is a double...and the fact that you were there is so surreal...never know when it's your time...
I live here too..I didn’t go cause it was the country part of the life is beautiful festival. My daughters friend was shot in the head. He just finished hs..😔😔Em did amazing job with this song. He did it perfectly and which such a big platform to make it aware..it’s really amazing. Haven’t been down to the strip since. Glad ur safe xoxo Dee
My teacher was there when it happened.
With this song having such a strong message and as someone who was involved so personally with the incident it was a little weird to ignore the message and put it off as “that’s political” but that’s just me maybe
She's probably the kind of person who knows that 1 vote doesn't mean the whole world's changed she knows if u vote you have change either the law of guns or cut them out entirely and then if u do we could have someone like Trump in office or corrupt politicians then id basically be Dictator-ship plus we have unlicensed guns and other means of Violence like Nukes and Riots
Thats me too

This song always hits me hard, especially when it gets to the school shooting parts cuz I have kids and I cant even begin to imagine losing someone close to this type of violence or being there as it happens. My heart goes out to you and I'm glad to see you doing ok. This is my first time on your channel, but I'll be checking out more of it
You are mad strong for doing this reaction! I remember seeing one of your NF reactions and i heard you mentioned the the shooting and i couldn't even think of asking you to react to darkness! Hope it helped you in any way! You are a strong woman!
Watching your reaction makes me want to give you the biggest hug. Thank you for reacting, I can tell it was extremely hard. I am happy you are safe!
I am sorry you had to go through what you did... I cannot even imagine what you been through. Just know that we are here for you. I was looking for this one..... because I watched your story. So glad your ok and your family. God Bless. if you didn't go through it ... people... eventually realize. Big Props for realizing that. So much love to you for reacting to this.

I’ve watched this videos reaction by several people, but yours brought tears to my eyes watching you’re reaction to the guns going off knowing that you were reliving the most horrific day of your life... I can’t imagine, thanks for sharing!
I think you were incredibly brave to survive such tragic events and to sit through this song after it all stay strong 💪
Great to hear Ems reaction to someone that was there. I saw the pain in your face. I hope you've endeared this moment of your life to make you a better person. Heartfelt reaction. I subbed because of this video.
God bless you and thank God you are still with us. Thanks for doing this video. I seriously had tears in my eyes the whole time you were talking about the incident.
It’s crazy how this whole song is a double entendre because not only is Em speaking on his own perspective, but he’s speaking on the perspective of Paddock when he was in Mandalay Bay AT THE SAME TIME, while also speaking on how mental health could lead to heavy drug use, which then leads to gun violence. Damn. Em is a genius.
This song tells 2 stories
1 the mass shooting from the shooters perspective (the main story told)
2 Eminem's struggle with alcohol and drugs there's a lyrics decoded video you can watch
Never watched your channel before but I really respect you being able to do a reaction like this. I wasn't at this one but I was sitting with my friend who was the shooter at chardon high school right before it happened. We had been friends since we were 5 years old and I remember how twisted up I felt for the next few years after that so I genuinely have a lot of respect for you making this reaction. Its very hard to even think about let alone talk about and relive and you kept composed for the most part throughout the whole reaction.
Thank you for sharing your reaction to this with us as I know it was NOT easy. I wasn't there but this song seems to bring us there when we hear it and Em did a phenomenal job bringing detail to the emotions and meanings. I hope and pray everyday that you and anyone else who has been a part of such senseless and needless acts and tragedies will heal from them in GOOD LIGHT PEACE ✌ AND LOVE 🥰
May Peace be with you!
Your video popped up randomly for me an it's very emotional and handled with grace..much love to all involved ♥️
Woa. Hell no. I've seen this video so many times and it hits me every time but for you to gather the strength and watch this is unreal. I went to MBay for a MJ One show and even felt uneasy then cause the cab driver showed us the venue and his daughter was there. She made it. God bless you and may God watch over those lost that day.
I just shared it buddy, your so brave... thank you. I'm a big em fan. I appreciate this♥️🌹♥️🌹
Love you ❤️ thank you for for powering through and entertaining us all while we are quarantined.
Thank you for this. I was working in the ICU where I worked in my state and couldn't imagine being in the ICU during this night in vegas.. thank you for this amazing reaction! Strong girl
You are brave. You are strong. I'm glad you were brave enough to do this, the feels go straight to us viewers. Something I did not think possible from a reaction video.
Best Reaction Video Ever.
Very hard to watch this video finding out you were there, Emimem is very clever they way he puts together verses, songs and videos, so much respect for the reaction, you gained another sub. 💖
I love your reactions. Thanks for doing this.
I'm glad you're here.
I am so sorry you had to experience such a terrible situation firsthand, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reacting to such a strong re-enactment. I hope you are doing well.
Randomly search Eminem “Darkness” reactions. Didn’t think I was going to come across somebody that was at the Vegas shooting reacting to it. WOW
So I mean, it is a personal track to you, but it is also personal to Eminem. The parallels between his career, being addicted to pills and alcohol, him performing on stage is what this is supposed to represent, but the double meaning is that it's about the shooter as well. I'm not sure how long you've followed Em and his career, but he had a strong addiction to pills and alcohol before he got clean in 2009/2010. It's the tale of 2 sides, him trying to amp himself up with drugs to go out on stage and the shooter.
Also if you took away from it that "oh it's just political motivation" then sorry, you don't know what Em was trying to get across. And you should want to change something too, anything to help prevent more circumstances from happening. like.....kind of made it a little weird ya know?
I got goosebumps when you almost started crying. I felt the pain in your eyes. Stay strong.
So much respect for you specifically reacting to this video. Much love to ya
I have watched this video numerous times and Never felt so emotional as I did watching your reaction. So sorry you had to go through that!
Kinda dissapointing to have someone that was there watch this and when a message comes up to do someth ijng about the reaction is "oh that's political." End of discussion. Sigh
Chris you are 1000% correct
why because not everyone is a gun grabbing nut case ?
That’s the whole problem with American people. Why take my gun if he...
Well, I can drive my car 120 miles an hour after drinking 10 beers, but not everyone can. And if people die because of that, you forbid driving 120 with 10 beers.
But in some brainmad sitatuation, American people do not apply this logic to guns.
Jim Jefferies should be the next American president.
Maybe she doesnt agree with the message? Even if she does agree and doesnt want to get into politics on her channel that's her decision
Ct 033 driving 120 when most speed limits only reach 85-90 at most in the US is already illegal, it’s called speeding, and drinking and driving alone is illegal lmao..car accidents kill more people than guns do
Really just went "that's political" at the end and clicked off. Lol. Nice one, actually involved in a shooting and a message about changing gun laws comes up and it's like a straight "no".
It's crazy, almost like she is so uncomfortable to share her political opinion, that even after a horrible tragedy she is more afraid of being accused of wrong think. Em would have done more for his cause if he hadn't put that last part in imo. Imagine making such a masterpiece, with words crafted by the worlds best word smith, laid out in such a elegant fashion only to bluntly ruin it with a copy paste slogan that's so over politicized, (telling us what to think, and not how) it's lost it's sting long ago. I hate to go off on you, but in my opinion watching her show great emotional control is impressive and gets my respect. There is something sick about "survivors" making political statements. Doesn't matter which side of the isle their on it sickens my soul, even when I agree with them.
Was thinking the same.. it bugs me y some even bother 2 react to songs on CZcams. 4 someone who claims was there, i expected more than a lame boring reaction.
Siren ....what will making me, a lawful gun owning combat vet, have to jump thru more hoops and pay more money, do to stop crazy pieces of s**t from attaining a stolen gun, or stealing one themselves?!! Omfg STFU with your "more gun control!" bulls**t!
@@branon6565 this guy owned his weapons legally. Yes, gun control won't stop all evil, but it will reduce the amount of shootings and murder. It's just either stupid or shows a severe lack of empathy and care, to refuse something that will lead to less suffering and death, just because it won't stop all suffering and death. At that point, why do anything?
People who think gun control stop murders need to remember the bystander effect... It means that if you witness an awful atrocity in broad daylight and you're powerless to prevent it, said person assumes the some other hero will deal with it. But in a gun control zone nobody is empowered apart from the criminals, so the bystander effect applies to everyone, therefore the atrocities pile up and 5 ppl get killed by one person. Or a robbery goes wrong and the store owner is killed. And nobody in the store is carrying, so they can't stop the owner from being shot in front of their eyes. Wake up man the only thing that can stop gun crime is a time machine and killing the man who invented them. Unfortunately we can't do that so it is better off you just carry your own gun and join the pro rights instead of anti.. because anti only empowers criminals.
To have the strength to react to the video.....that is another step forward. I applaud you for taking the step, and hope each day is another step into a brighter future.
i cant stop hearing this song my dad was one of the police officers running in when i was running out to save people hes my hero thank you to police and im here for every survivor
the one time you hear eminem actually talk is saying “fuck the media, i’m going all out this is war” cause it’s something he wants to change.
I can't imagine what you went through but that takes a lot of courage to watch this video when you lived it much respect
I can see how uncomfortable this was for you, thank God for your safety, and I'm sorry for all the angles that were lost on that tragic night, thank you for sharing your unfortunate experience
First and foremost I want to thank God for you and provide comfort and hope to the people there, especially the family of those that lost somebody. As well as you and your family. You never have to apologize for the amount of pauses and emotions you let out on here. You was there and you have a different type of emotion than most who wasn't there. Never stop speaking from the heart, its the most effective way to heal as much as possible. Not to mention that there are other people that was there and watch your reactions. Maybe somebody needs to hear a point of view from a person that was there and putting yourself out there may not be the easiest thing to do but the lives you touch could find healing in your words. We got your back as well as God. God Bless you and your family.
That comment, I have no words. Thank you.. ❤️❤️
@@mayjayyy9605 its no problem at all. Im an emotional person and one thing most people don't realize is that being an emotional person is hell hah it benefits others far more than it benefits us. We hold more hate in ourselves and we show. I realized God made me a certain way because the mental, spiritual and emotional battle we fight is extremely difficult and its so easy to want to change and become someone we're not, but there is always something inside of us that reminds us that its not us. One thing I learned is the Bible says God won't put more on us than we can bare, He never said that we couldn't add to it. The way we respond to a situation is key. Do we keep tripping on the stumbling blocks or turn them into stepping stones. Keep falling of climb higher.
When I first listened to this I had no idea of the story behind it I just thought that he was on about a performance, but I had an urge to do research because I ould sense that it was deeper than that. thats is so crazy you mention that , i lived in Orlando and 2016 i was working as a bartering in a club in downtown , and it was a few blocks from pulse nightclub , we al heard the shots started around 2am, the cops showed up around almost 4am, not to mention that the police station was 2 min away , that night was ruff ,that a mass shooting in Orlando was sad crazy horrific

Man I really don’t think this song got the credit it deserved. So incredible how he portrays the mindset of an artist about to go on stage, while at the same time portraying the mindset of the Las Vegas shooter. The video itself was so powerful with the intense visuals. If this doesn’t get video of the year then there is something wrong.

“Well that’s political” Lmao yeah trying to stop mass shootings from happening in America when they barely happen in other countries.. lol “best country in the world tho” sorry. Hope you have educated yourself since or are better than that. If so I’m sorry
Everything in America is political nowadays unfortunately. People can't even agree on things as open and shut like Mental Health is important, Gun control in many states is shit, Coronavirus is a pandemic and it is killing people, Pedophiles should not be allowed to be politicians, etc etc. It always comes down to the good ol red vs blue
Seriously the artists performing redacted their beliefs on gun control. I can’t fathom the idea someone came out of that experience thinking gun control is political
Yoooo watched this lyrics video months ago
😱
She wasn’t wrong. “Go vote” can’t get more political.
Saying to vote isn’t stopping mass shootings. Presidents aren’t saying to go out and shoot people, if you’re looking for gun laws, look at Chicago. Highest shooting rate in the country every year yet they have the strictest gun laws. Educate yourself before telling others lmao

@@dakotablount251 imagined.
@@quandaledingle589 realizing how trash it is?
@Dakota Blount That last message from Em was important and I don't see any problem in me pointing out her skipping that one wasn't a good idea.
@@dakotablount251 Sticking to my point. I know she's had bad past and I understand her but the fact that something important like that is being skipped just doesn't fit well. If you feel it was OK to skip that one want to just talk about judging and sh*t, go reply someone else I don't wanna waste time..
This shit made me cry, i can't imagine being there. Just sending some love your way
You're really brave doing this. . . thank you for sharing it with us.
I don’t even have words that would make the slightest difference. I had friends who were there as well...I actually left Vegas to go to Cali a month before for work and remember all the phone calls I made to people trying to make sure they were ok. Shortly after we were evacuating our hospital outside of LA due to fires and come to find out there was a shooting at the Borderline Bar and Grill just down the road...Can’t even describe how my heart was breaking while watching this...didn’t even make it all the way through. Stay strong 🖤
I love that your doggy was there to make you feel better 🥺
He is rapping from both prospectives his as a rapper and then the shooter also if you notice this whole song can be heard 2 different ways
I'm so sorry you had to experience that. You could tell toward the end of the video that it really clicked with you about what happened that night. I'm glad that you're okay and I hope everything goes good for you in the future
I can not imagine wath you went trough and still have to go throug.

Eminem is always on deferent level. I watched this because you was there and you witnessed it. That's why I personally loved eminem music. Some popular reactions CZcamsrs as Shaq explains what EM try's to says to people see his video to you will get some kind of relief. Stay safe.
