In 1998, Furby by Tiger Electronics was one of the hottest toys around, and somehow my grandparents got a hold of 3 for me and my sisters! Nick, Your grandparents had to pick up the furbys in the back office at Walmart, in a paper bag and be escorted out as some people were attacking others in order to get their hands on a new furby! Merry Christmas you all! Nina and Papa were so excited they hit every Walmart in 50 miles to be able to get one for each of their grand-kids.

I was a very poor kid, all I really wanted was a Furby in the late 90's. My mom saved up money to buy one, but the shelves were empty. I eventually forgot about it and accepted it, I wasn't a brat about it. Then somewhere around 2001, I entered a toy store at the mall. They had one sitting in the clearance isle, I had tears of happiness run down my face. Although I was an early teen, and was with some school friends. They would have made fun of me, if they saw me buy a Furby. I felt embarrassed but I really wanted it, so I had the cashier triple bag it. My friends did ask me what was in the bag, I kept my cool and made up something quick. Since one of them had a Gameboy in their hands, I just said I bought me a Gameboy. Thankfully they fell for it, so I got home and immediately rushed to my room. I was so excited, I rapidly unboxed it and put batteries in the Furby. I played with it and felt so happy, that was the best day of my life. I still have my Furby sitting on a shelf in my closet, I will never let go of it. :'-)
What colour or animal name is your furby?
A black one with silver eyes I think, haven't checked on it for awhile. :0

Furbies are super cool honestly. I’m getting one for Christmas. The 2012 furby is the one I’m getting. I don’t like the design of the furby connect. It’s too round or smth idk

I don't think so but some people think they're evil.
When they're sneezing it means they're sick and you have to feed and play with them until they stop sneezing. Only then will they behave properly and play the games

Firstly, you need to restart Furby - gives himself or herself a new name - to stop it from sneezing! Put a pen in the hole and put your finger in its little beak - turn upside down!
To get it to play games, you have got to do the correct sequence of pet or tickle or hide light or make a sound, but wait until it stops moving and speaking before you do the next bit!
To get it to say its name, pet its back - after a while, it should make two gentle purrs, then say “Me (name!)” - their name is a Furbish phrase, not Fred or Jim or Bill!
her movements are so smooth! and her fur is so soft looking, aww!!! i have the same leopard furby and he came very messy so i had to wash him. he’s a lot fluffier now but his movements are quite stiff 😢

The scariest one is the gen 2 furby. It’s a weird mix of soul piercing and the design is just really strange. Like they tried to give it a realistic look I think but I just find it creepy.

I have the newer one , the furby boom , but I think I still have a smashed one from 1999 somewhere in my shed.I still love them and their app but they are still annoying sometimes. When I try to sleep I accidentally move it and suddenly I hear : *”AhHAhAla”*

My grandma had a black and yellow original furby and she kept it on the fireplace (she had a old stone fireplace with a big stone thing that you could sit on but your not supposed to, well she kept it on that part of the fireplace) anyways sometimes it would just turn on and scare my siblings and I so bad and that is why we never played with it or touched it, we were legit terrified of it
My grandma had a emperor helmet shell on the left side hearth of the fireplace and I was traumatised by the appearance of the shell, my mum recently said I screamed when I entered the lounge room, that was in the 70's when I was toddler age

I'll never forget when I got one for Christmas, and yes it took my grandparents awhile to find one. At a sleepover at my friend's we were about to fall asleep and our furbys woke up and started talking to each other. In the closet they went.
I honestly don’t understand why they didn’t make a sleep button. Like I get it’s supposed to be real??? but it’s gonna drive kids nuts!

Omg I love her! I was so excited Christmas of 1998. I was the oldest and knew we were all getting a furby. I wanted an all white furby with blue eyes. My brother got it. Mine was all grey; grey fur, grey belly, grey Mohawk, grey eyes. Ok ok I can deal. Turn him on. What’s his name? His name was “Car” I shit you not. lmao.
I used to have one, my furby kept on getting sick like she kept on sneezing. Even I'm taking good care of her. I found out later on that the one that make her sick is our cable remote. Since she has an infared censor everytime we press a button on the remote it made her sick and sneeze poor baby
At the past the furby is freeking out for no reason.

Mine is1998 with same batteries still works. Sometimes goes off by self while in a cabinet. Crazy? Read NSA recalled because they thought they could listen when you didn't know.
Whaaat those are some good batteries! And Yes I think I read that too! Apparently they were banned in the NSA building because they were marketed as a toy that “learned to speak” so they assumed it had listening capabilities 😝

When it's sneezing a lot it means that it's sick you need to feed it up to 15 times not give you food 15 times when she stops sneezing you know you've done it
mines in a sleep coma all it wants to do is sleep 😴 when I wake it up
That's called the me sleep again glitch, you have to keep waking it up until it snaps out of it or you can try holding down it's tounge and turning it upside down and shaking it gently, that should hard reset it but the msa glitch is due to a software glitch so there's no definite cure, you just have to keep waking and hard resetting when it's get into the loop and it will get into it again later
Basically a software glitch = narcoleptic furby
OMG DOES THE FURBY HAVE A OFF BUTTON!!! MINE DOESENT AND I HAVE TO PUT IT IN THE DARKEST CLOSET FOR IT TO SHHUT UP AND GO TO SLEEP!!!!

*facepalm* you REALLY need to learn more about furbys. 1. Your furby has been used before. You don’t need to push down it’s tongue and press the reset button. 2. It sometimes won’t respond to certain actions if it’s sick. Keep feeding it until it stops sneezing. 3. For covering eyes thing, you gotta first wait for the furby to be still, then cover it eyes. Wait until it stops moving and talking. Then cover it’s eyes again and repeat a total of 4 times.
