The side effects of clomipramine are massively overstated. Discontinue rates are very similar to SSRIs

Excellent video on a much underaddressed topic! If I'm not mistaken ... a lot of doctors (PCPs) are under the impression that the FDA maxes are the absolute maxima. I've seen interesting research showing general tolerability of dosages of various SSRIs in excess of those maximum numbers not only in OCD but also in depression and (especially) stubborn anxiety. I think that given the good safety profile of these medications it's a real pity not to use them to the fullest extent possible.

This video is full of it. I did 400mg of sert for 20 weeks, and absolutely no material difference.. the side effects sucked tho… but once again- I experienced 0 difference as far as it being more tolerable…just an anecdote tho, could be different for others.
Can i start escitalopram at 5mg? i have bad health anxiety and wanna take things very carefully?
that’s an okay dose. you’ll be fine. being mentally ill is ironically what’s making you worse so yes, please take your meds.
All the licensed OCD medication can cause sexual dysfunction. when given such a high dose, it will completely kill the patient's sexual function and affect their quality of life. How do you manage this? Do you think cyproheptadine is effective to relieve this side effect?
I would say it should be taken on a case by case basis. In the beginning it made me last longer ( male) . And then at 200mg per day i started to just go back to how it was before i started zoloft.
@@ShakerCuda71 how are you now my friend. I am on .75 mg started 4 months back with .25, .50, my OCD is worst than ever. You take 200 mg ? Wow

It would be a higher dose for OCD

400mg of sertraline... sounds high..Doesn't the patient risk having impairing side effect? Typically sexual side effects ?
