Honestly: probably one of the best written pilot episodes of any series. Well acted, and sets up the characters perfectly. It's funny and charming and touching. I miss these people! Bravo to everyone involved!
If the main character got Deb’s brains and IQ, HOW IS IT that she can just fake being a lawyer not be noticed. Ridiculous!

I miss Drop Dead Diva so much!! We never understood why they canceled it!! It was such a great show!!! They always take the good, clean stuff away from us!!!
It was cancelled after season 4 and then they brought it back hence why we have season 5 and 6
IKR! Yet old dull Grey's Anatomy where "*gasps* who slept with who?" Repetitive ridiculous plot, is still going till TODAY! So sad...

Grey's is so lame. The main characters are super obnoxious. I don't know how such drab and vacant characters can gain so much attention. And Mr. Dreamy? How exactly is he dreamy?

I remember watching this thinking she'd just lose weight as a former skinny person but she couldn't. This shows how hard losing weight can be. It's more than just the numbers. It's a psychological war you have to conquer within yourself. The cravings, the emotions, the new habits you have to form etc it's not easy.

Bullshit. If you eat less, and move more, you will LOSE WEIGHT. People just aren't willing to push themselves when it comes to exercise. It's going to hurt, a LOT, but it can be done.

@@mistymitchell2790 uh, no, you're better off consuming less calories and exercising more. That's what every doctor on earth will tell you. Less sugar, less salt, more fruits and vegetables, and exercise more, and stay consistent. It's not easy mentally because food is designed to be as addictive as possible, but nothing worth doing in life ever is.
This is a lovely show. So many of us can relate. The pain of loss and having to adapt is hard. I'm glad I was able to watch this episode again. Thanks for sharing.

This show instantly became so relatable to me when I discovered it in 2011. As a 22 year old guy at that time, I didn't think that it would affect me so much. But boy I was so wrong. My grandpa passed away in 2009. The first EP got me when it talks about that 5 stages of grieve. I immediately realized that I was actually still grieving for grandpa. It hit me so hard that I actually cried right there during the funeral & court's closing scene. Then, the next relatable thing is how this series constantly highlights the issue of overweight and body image. I was overweight and had just successfully lost weight and looked the best of myself at the time this came out.
And now 10 years later, here I am rewatching this series accidentally like how I discovered 10 years ago. Funny enough, I was dealing with some weight issues again a few years back and has successfully lost from 100kg to 85kg now and still going. Many say that this is such a corny series. Maybe yes. But I do think that this is such an empowering show, isn't it? Proof? It's still relevant after years of its debut. Not many shows have that!

I adore this show. I also fell in love with the Guardian Angel Fred (the best angel in the entire show btw). It was a joy each week to watch the character of Deb/Jane grow into a better person and Brooke Elliot was truly the superstar of the entire program.

I watched this show for the first time in 2019 working as a legal assistant at a law firm and instantly became hooked. ❤️ I was so inspired by our Jane and also wanted her & Grayson to be together 😭 so many memories

I absolutely LOVED this show when I was younger and what’s crazy is watching it as an adult made me realize that people really don’t care to give you a chance unless you look a certain way…
Sad that even when Jane died some other shallow person got to occupy her body. Jane deserved more :(
Yeah Deb was really shallow. She was not wicked as Kim( in the beginning) but she was selfish most of the time. She was fine with the good things "Jane" could give her(wisdom, money, ,respect...) but not the challenging ones(body and family issues). She not telling " Old Jane " abt her mum's death and calling her crazy later...

Kind of a corny premise but this is the best role ever written for a plus size gal. Jane's actress is phenomenal

This must be so hard for Deb/Jane. I couldn't understand it the first time I watched this show, but the way she looked at Grayson in that last scene and her closing argument made me tear up.. thinking about what if that was me and I saw the love of my life every day and he didn't know and I couldn't tell him... that would break my heart. I really miss this show a lot.

I didn't even know anything about this series. After seeing this first episode I was hooked. But no where to watch without buying it. So not my first choice, but renting the DVD's from the local library. Better than nothing. And really enjoying them.

I liked the show, it was more of a superhero jorney. Debbie got smarts and was learning how to use them. However i do not like the fact that she did not have to work for them, she simply got lucky. But she had to work on being a good person.
In the context of the show it seems like intelligence and IQ comes with the brain, as he told her when she got the new body, so seems like everybody’s “luck” is predetermined.
And the show it’s not about it.
@@fuyoutube5708 , it was not her IQ that came with a brain, that stayed the same. Debb was never slow or stupid. It's her professional skills and knowledge, overall intelligence that came from Jane. (IQ is about how effectively you use your intelligence). Even if the show was not about that, but rather about altruism, inner beauty and confidence, her smarts were a big part of the show. It still looked as if she was given the already perfect superpower that is there just because. She didn't work for it or earn it in any way. It's like winning a quiz by using google. No effort on your part. I prefer skills and knowledge to be earned, not handed to a person. Much like captain "you were always perfect" Marvel vs Black Widow, who had to train for her superpower-level skills.

I was so looking forward to her buying a new wardrobe or, at the very least, putting a little effort into styling her hair. A simple ponytail would have sufficed! Deb surely could not have stood to have not done her hair.
