Great comments, I do touch on this a little more in the full length video search ned rig and zev.outdoors on YT. I could go onto even more on a futurue video. I can tell you this bait excels in clear water situations, especially for smallmouth bass. There really is no wrong way to fish the bait. The rod and reel setup is probably the most important aspect of the technique. It is best used with spinning tackle and as light of line as you can get away with. I prefer to use braided to a fluorocarbon leader. Typically a 12lbs braid mainline and anywhere between 6-10lbs fluorocarbon leader. The most basic way to fish it is to drag or small hops on the bottom. Let the fish tell you how long you have to let it sit. Experiment with various plastics. One of the best to start with is the Z-Man TRD. For smallmouth I like PB&J and when they're more aggressive and cruising bubble gum. Give it a try.
