A new LARP season started back in May and I finally managed to get some time to edit up what footage I had! This is from Empire LARP by Profound Decisions.

Please note that I am NOT allowed to film out and about around the event during character time, or the battles. What I HAVE filmed here, was done with the permission of the event organisers and the friends/people featured.
This was also a bit of an experiment and very improvised. For other events, I'll probably play around with the formulae a bit more.

I will still do some more "storytime from LARP" stuff, but will probably just be me as getting Trott and Smith is always tricky with our schedules. I'm hoping to film some next week so should be more soon. Thanks for all the love and support, I know I've been quiet for a long time but I do want to get back on track with stuff. Sherlock Hulmes The “Storytime from LARP” videos are some the best videos on CZcams. I’ve watched them all 10s of times.
Thank you for this! I wish we had grand-scale LARP events like this in the US. I've missed your LARP videos, as i am living vicariously through you until i get into a better situation to go regularly to my own LARP events.

Though, you have a lot to recap now, but it'd make for a good series. So if you dont wanna do it all in one video you dont have to worry about that. ;)

I'm probably going to do it as much shorter videos that focus on one "story" at a time. So "The time Algar died" and I recount that experience. etc.

Hearing Steve talk about going out to fight with his character is awful to hear each time. The same skirmish Algar died on, my character also died on too. But I'm loving Steve's new character and it allows him to explore Anvil instead of stay put in Wintermark. As always Mark, great video and I look forward to the next one!

I would love to join Empire Larp one day, but I live in the Netherlands so it's quiet expensive to join (with travel and such).
Lukely, we have an amazing festival over here, called CastleFest. It's not specifically a LARP event, but a Medieval(Fantasy)/Folk/Music festival. A lot of music, stands, workshops (crafting, swordfighting, etc.), LARP and other fun activities to do in three days, with Camping as well. If you are ever in the Netherlands around the first weekend of August, you should definitely check it out! Most of the attendants are in costume, from early age Viking to Golden Age of Piracy and fantasy creatures like Satyrs or just simply dressed in a Kilt haha

Jotun here. Dagma came out of nowhere on a skirmish and shattered my greataxe at E1. Then she did it again during the Sunday battle! Shatter mages are extremely powerful, make sure you defend them with vigilance, Winterborn.
this was brilliant mark!! another amazing video and it was really cool to interact with Bron at E2 this year (saw you but didnt get to speak) though some trading with Ashenhall was a nice little trip away from the League

Important part and definitely good to show that to folks thinking of coming. I'm hoping to go and speak with friends in other nations at Event 3, and showcase different elements of the game!
@@SherlockHulmes also good to know there are places like the artisan guild and the apothecary guild where their main purpose is to help players find game withing their non-combat skills. But as a member of both and a nation rep of the artisans, I'm biased ;)

I haven't gone to Empire yet, but your videos is what got me into it in the first place, good to see that you might start them back up! There are lots of lovely people that have gotten me into other larps around where I live when I started looking for them, I hope to see you around the field!

It feels surreal to me that this was my first LARP event. Watching this during the long dark gives me such a longing to be back in that cold, muddy field. :)

Lovely video!! I'm a Navarri and tend to end up around our camp most of the time so it's really cool to see some of Wintermark here - set dressing in that tent is on POINT and you do a really great job of showing off the costumes and different aesthetics here!
Didn't get to show off the tent in it's full glory! Would *love* to film Song and Story time as it's one of my fave bits of Empire, but sadly no filming in IC time. :(
Unpopular Opinion: I prefer the long-form podcast-style approach to LARP videos.
But this was still an awesome insight into the event!
I don't think it's an unpopular opinion. I think a lot of folks did, however they just aren't possible anymore due to scheduling and stuff. This VLOG style video was a bit of an experiment, and I'll be tweaking it/adjusting it in the future.

Loved the vlog, every time I get more and more tempted to get involved! Looking forward to the storytime, read your comment and if it's hard to get Trott and Smith, maybe getting anyone from the event to guest with you on a video would be awesome, to see new perspectives and experiences from playing!

I already put a LARP event on my bucket list (if I can make it, this one too, since it's quite awesomely complex, meaning it has shops, own currency, everything), but man, this is just rekindled that fire to bring my pirate-ish rogue character to life :D Hope one day I can make the clothes and armor for it, and join in on an event :D
I luv the bour armour and a must to make your character cool, hope you got the shield.

that's amazing, if i had the means & confidence i'd love doing this, makes me imagine some sort of D&D,RPG,Westworld :D but seriously i was grinning all the way through this i knew that Larp was more than what they breifly mention in a one off episode of random tv shows but i didn't think of the grander scale of it and how it's it's own world that progresses & stuff

Noice, Empire looks cool, over here in Quebec we have Bicoline, biggest in North America, 5000 player for a massive battle at the end of the big week, went once, was awesome, instead I do a fantasy Lovecraft inspired larp, madness is fun😂😂😂

What happened to you and steve on battlefeild is what happened to me on my first event, first time in the fucking field. Me and Jess got off on Ref pity because I genuinely injured myself and she came back for me.
Nice to know it happens to other people! Lovely video got me excited for E3!!!! Also RIP Algar, decided to go on the battle and died in a skirmish.

@@SherlockHulmes hahaha! Was such a shame as well because he was really sweet and chatty with me but the wind put me in a foul mood so I couldn't hold convosation very well. Then when I was a better mood that evening. I found out he fuckin died! But it's all part of the game I suppose
My first event I backed up into a tree, and the Druj threw us back through all poisoned up for excellent hospital rp, which I think was partly ref pity.
Didn't realise how much it affected my nerve until someone called me out a few events later for constantly making poor excuses not to skirmish. I got on one E2 this year which was good, but it tipped it down, so every silver lining has its cloud

Wow, this is so much different from the larps I'm used to! We have 24h incharacter on ours, once the game starts, so this is fascinating! You have a full market and everything! It looks pretty chill :)

It's a Bell Tent from a UK place. Can't remember where. Traders are open before time in, but I suggest you get base layers (trousers, tunic, boots and something warm) sorted before you come *if possible*.

I doubt I will ever get an answer but it can't hurt to ask. What Happened to Table Top Weekly? I mean nearly all the videos have been made private, yet mark is still active on twitch. Just wondering because the 7 wonders duel videos with Tom is one of my favorite Yogs series. I have looked everywhere and haven't been able to find an announcement or anything about the Massive culling on this channel or the change in name to Table Top Weekly Archive.
