I recently attended a National Learning Conference in TX, last week. I was very blessed and honored to her Tyler speak. At this conference he also met his Donor Family. I have worked with an OPO for over 10 years and this was very inspiring for me to continue the hard work and effort for organ donation.

As estimated by the United States Department of Health & Human Services: ‘17 people die each day waiting for transplants that can’t take place because of the shortage of donated organs.’ Strategies to expand the donor pool - public relations campaigns and Drivers’ license designation - have been mainly unsuccessful. Although illegal in most nations, and viewed as unethical by professional medical organizations, the voluntary sale of purchased donor kidneys now accounts for thousands of black market transplants.
Immucor groups are reaching out to help individuals who have a deadline to live and can't get a donor in time. For more than 30 years, Immucor has been a proud partner to thousands of hospitals, reference laboratories and donor centers. We remain focused on continuing to innovate as we work to advance the science of transfusion and transplantation diagnostics.
