Lol, "Cleavage in a turtleneck". Showing us how to properly raise the v-neck has been very helpful to learn. So many of the current front bodice styles in shirts and dresses are too low for me. I will definitely raise them now. Thank you Whitney.
I'm glad that was helpful!
Who knew 60 plus years ago in school that I was a visual learner! I would have struggled reading those directions, but with this video it all becomes so easy to follow! Thank you for all of your lessons. I have developed so many skills with you and Janet Pray and Karina at Lifting Pins and Needles. I love learning everything I can. My wardrobe is amazing to me, all thanks to amazing giving sewists❤️
What a wonderful comment! This makes me so happy!
What a great way to snazz up a t-shirt. The double sided tape is heaven sent making hems so easy.
I agree! I love those tapes!
Thank you for the tutorial on this lovely top.
My pleasure!
Love this tutorial! I am going to get this pattern. I have two shirts like this from Talbot’s and had not figured out the construction, yay! Now I can replace worn favorites!
oh good!
Thanks a bunch for demonstrating how to raise the neckline! I couldn't figure it out. I have a small bust and the original neckline was droopy.
Glad it was helpful!
While I’m not going to make this shirt, all the hints you gave about using the different stay tapes in the various parts are going to help me improve the garment that I’m beginning to consider my TNTs
Thank you for always teaching me something new(and needed)!
Oh good! I'm glad that was helpful!
Love Moreno wool but I’ve been afraid to sew with it given the price. Great top. It looks great on you. Thanks for the tips.
I think it is Merino, just fyi. Sometimes it is washable, also.
The Merino is washable and easy to take care of (I do line dry it). While it is costly, it's pretty great to sew with and wear!
Thanks so much for the tutorial. I really look forward to your sewalongs as I always learn something new. X
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful sew along! This top is so flattering. I printed mine out this AM and hopefully I’ll get it started this week, after I finish the rest of my fall sews. This top will be perfect with my skirts and pants. I needed a top like this. Love Itch to Stitch!
I love Itch to Stitch as well!
I made my first Zakopane in April and raised the neck the same way that you did by ½” and shortened the neckband by 3cm and it worked (and fits) great. For reference I used size 6 with the regular bust piece.
Oh good!
Thank you - Have been waiting for this. I have the pattern and ready to go!,
Oh good!
Beautiful! Would you do a tutorial on the Itch to Stitch Brasov top? Thanks so much.
Great suggestion!
Thank you! I'm really having trouble with those shoulder darts. Thanks again. Your tutorials are easy to follow. @@TomKatStitchery
So I put the directions aside & voila completed the Brasov. Absolutely love how it fits & feels. Thanks just for listening & for your replies.
@@maggiescot6505 oh good!!
Do you always use DOUBLE FACE Seweasy tape, instead of single faced Seweasy tape where needed?
I use the double-sided tape when I do my hems so I can "glue" them up before sewing the hems. The other two tapes I use just have the glue on one side.
Thank you, Whitney! I mistakenly ordered one sided glue for hems. I think I'll try using them "back to back" to compensate for my error. 🤔
Great video on many levels - the pattern itself, the hints on stay tape, and which side of the garment pieces should be near feed dogs. Thank you.
One question - if you answered it I must have missed it.
What size did you make and what alterations did you make for your Zakopane?
I made the size 8 with full bust front and only shortened the bodice and sleeve 1" at the lengthen shorten lines.
😂😂😂 “Cleavage-y”. A true professional!! ❤❤ 😅😊😂
😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this! So clear and thorough. Especially for showing how to raise the neckline. If I had tried to do it on my own, I would not have thought to adjust the fold line part, so this was very helpful. This top will go on my list for sure! One question about the merino jersey -- I have some from a different retailer. I like it, but it wrinkles quite a bit. Does the merino jersey from The Fabric Store wrinkle a lot, too? I'm wondering if it's just a property of the fabric type, or just the fabric I have. Hate having to iron a casual top!
I've never had to iron my merino tops. I wash and air dry them and then they are usually good to go!
Thank you for an excellent tutorial! I’m making this top today, how did you know?😉 I love the colour of your top. 💐
Perfect timing!
Does the glue from the tape gum up the needle?
@helenwood3119 the staytape glue, in my experience, hasn’t ever gummed up my needles
I haven't ever had an issue with it gumming up the needle.
I am wondering why you first sew the seam then serge? Would you ever just serge?
I pretty much always just serge. I wanted to use the sewing machine for this tutorial so those without sergers could see that it could be done on just a sewing machine. When I made this the first time, I only used the serger.
I love you, but it's 'Zaaa-cop-knee'. I think. Sorry to be a pest. You are an inspiration.
Not a pest at all! I'm always worried I'm butchering these names!
It’s actually a name of a town in north of Poland, in Tatra mountains. It literally means “buried”. I like how her designs are named after various places in the world, it always make me google it and get to know them more 😀
@@KarolinaZ_z I agree! I think it’s cool she does that as well!
