- What If The Droids Saved The Jedi During Order 66? Let's explore the depths of this scenario in the video.
After the Battle of Onderon, Republic strategists, including the Jedi, discuss the latest developments. Although it was a Republic victory, they observed troubling changes in the droids' behavior.
The droids were better disciplined and employed smarter tactics. There were rumors that the Separatists were deploying a new generation of super tactical droids that were better commanders than the standard droid commanders.
The Battle of Onderon confirmed these rumors, as both Saw Gerrera and the royal military reported the presence of these droids.
Captain Rex: This poses a problem for our strategists. The droids use algorithms to predict our moves and develop counter-maneuvers for our tactics. It's why the tricks we use become less effective over time. If they have new commanders, our strategies can become outdated even faster."
Anakin: "Well, I guess we just have to be smarter than them."
Obi-Wan: "Unfortunately, things are not that simple. It won't matter how smart we are if these droids can predict our moves. What we need is some intelligence on these droid models."
Cody: "I'm glad you mentioned that, General. I propose a standing order for Republic troops to capture an intact super tactical droid for analysis. That way, we can let the boys figure out how they work."
The other officers agreed to this proposal and got their opportunity during the Battle of Ringo Vinda. In the final stages of the campaign, clone trooper Tup's inhibitor chip malfunctioned, causing him to activate Order 66 prematurely. The droid commander of this operation, Kraken, noticed this and was ordered by Admiral Trench to capture Tup for examination. However, his transport was intercepted by Anakin, Fives, and Rex.

The clones storm the shuttle, cutting down the droid guards. Kraken leaps forward and scores a few blows before Anakin slices off his arms. As the droid stumbles back, he holds his lightsaber against him.
Anakin: Whats going on? What do you know about this clone?
Kraken: I am programmed to resist intimidation.
Although Anakin wants to destroy him, he knows there is too much data in that droid to risk losing. Instead, he takes a droid popper from Fives and temporarily disables him.
They take Kraken back to Coruscant to begin going through his databanks. This proves to be more difficult than they think, as many of the droid's logs are protected, stifling the efforts of the researchers.
One person who offers to help is Anakin. Using his years of experience building and modifying droids, he helps the research team crack the codes keeping them out of the databanks.
They immediately begin poring over the files and recordings of the droid. One of the most recent ones that got their attention was a conversation between Dooku and Trench regarding Tup. As Anakin and the research team listen to it, they notice the change in Dooku's demeanor after he hears Trench's report. They note how hurriedly he ends the transmission just as Tup is kidnapped shortly after.
Kraken: "What are you doing to me?"
Anakin: "Getting answers, droid. Now try not to cause too much of a fuss. We don't want to cause a malfunction."
Kraken: "You mean like your soldier?"
Anakin: "Careful, droid. That's a living thing you're talking about."
Kraken: "One who had something malfunctioning in his brain. I saw the situation, Jedi. Look how that clone moved and started acting. He did not simply attack you because he wanted to; he could not help himself. How can that happen unless something in his head was malfunctioning or someone made him do it?"
Anakin can't think of a rebuttal. Although he hates to admit it, the droid raises a good point. Tup's behavior was odd. Instead, he turns his attention back to gathering more information on the super tactical droid.
He learns that these command droids transmit signals to the other droids, relaying instructions, which is how they can coordinate battles. With this information, Anakin and the other Jedi begin researching how to replicate these commands to try and take control of at least a portion of the droids.
Despite this victory, Anakin cannot let himself rest easy as Kraken's words continue to ring in his head. A seed of doubt grows in his mind, especially as he hears Fives mentioning some inhibitor chip.
However, the ARC trooper dies before he reveals more, leaving Anakin with no leads. Palpatine himself visits Anakin after the clone's funeral and assures Anakin that he is not to blame for what happened and that Fives' death was due to battlefield stress and substance abuse.
Count dooku: "You were supposed to destroy the jedi, not join them!"
I actually see this as dooku realizing he was getting betrayed so he built a code in the droids to automatically save the Jedi if order 66 was actived

Almost everyone in Star Wars lore treats droids like garbage. There are notable exceptions. The main ones being the Skywalkers, and even Plagueis to some extent. One of my favourite potential what ifs about Anakin going on a rampage against the Jedi is: What if Anakin turned on the Jedi after the Council wiped R2's memory to preserve a secret or lessen Anakin's attachment to R2?
That’s because droids in the setting are not people in any way. They’re just objects with a persona as a user interface. The closest to being person-like is something like R2-D2 developing a dog-like master-pet trait to its owner.

I did like this, I think it would've been more interesting if Anakin repaired and took over more and more battle droids from the start of the war, like R2D2 did to his B1 squad that unfortunately perished.

One small flaw I noticed with this was that given that the battle over Coruscant took place only a few days before Padme gave birth to Luke and Leia, Anakin wouldn't have multiple weeks to study the clone chips before his children were born, so Palpatine wouldn't have that to hold over him anymore. The easiest way to resolve this is to just retcon and delay the births by a month or whatever, which is fine, but just a little inconsistency.
What if someone like Mara Jade or Jaina/Jacen/Anakin solo or ben Skywalker found the world between worlds and pulled ahsoka through, or went back in time.
I really wish more theorists would use Legends and EU characters
This was really fun! I like the idea a lot! I think the idea is very plausible. Though I don't think it makes sense that there would be any significant number of droids on Couscant itself to help out. You should work in a Republic research facility that was working on studying the droids too, or something like that in order to explain why there are any functional battle droids nearby.
The idea that they crawed out of dumps and incinerators is honestly the silliest part of this.
If I were to do my own version though, I think I'd have Dooku involved. Maybe suggest he had a change of heart after Qui-Gon's death. Or that he prepared a contingency order of his own, should Palpatine betray Dooku, then the Droids switch sides.
I like playing into Anakin's mechanical abilities, but they don't suggest he's much of a slicer/programmer. I don't think he's best suited to this task on his own. Maybe if he brought in help from another technician. He built machines and was a good pilot, but that doesn't mean he can reprogram droid brains - which, given how smart droids are in SW, have to be MASSIVELY complex.
As a kid I liked the droids more than the Clones - so I used to enjoy imagining if the clones were the bad guys - this was before TCW cartoon too, so the clones really were just proto-Storm Troopers at that point.
the invisible hand crashed on Coruscant as did several other separatist ships, droids flat pack pretty well so the wrecks likely had a not inconsiderable stock of droids on board especially with a ground invasion on the supposed schedule. republic forces were likely still in early exploratory mode for the separatist wrecks, not in mass decommission mode. its bad pr if you rush to the scrapping bit and then find out you accidentally let drop out joe release an entire division of stab happy commando droids on the capital.
This was an amazing story! I know my last comment was rather harsh, but make no mistake, i thoroughly enjoyed the last story as well. You've raised the bar on what if's in so many aspects and every story raises it farther. I particularly liked the dialog in this one.

Honestly I’m kinda sus that Anakin didn’t think Palpatine telling him to kill Dooku wasn’t out of place and that he wouldn’t wonder why he suddenly had visions of Padme dying in childbirth, but not the other one thousand times during the war.
When part 3 of Obi Wan joined Dooku and part 2 of Mace Windu survived?

Grievous: "It's rather demeaning to be reduced to a prison cell should I comply, wouldn't you say?"
Obi-wan: "It's not for me to decide your fate, but rather yourself."
Grievous: "Ahh. That's some utter nonsense. However, your offer does intrigue me. Tell you what, I will fake my death by leaving a burnt metallic husk here and grant you an army of droids. If you prove to be a more superior General than I, I will come quietly and reform under the Republic. However, should you fail-"
Obi-wan: "Time is of the essence. We will discuss the grim details of a failure later."
Grievous: "Oho, a bold one. Very well. You have my army to command."
This actually makes way more sense than what we actually got. Anakin actually thinking with his head instead of his ass. I believe something like this should have happened, and the galaxy faces another threat in the future that Luke saves them from.

What if master Vos & his padawan Ayala Secura joined qui-gon & obiwan after hearing the counsel deny them aid
So Vos and Secura would become main characters in the prequel trilogy or at the very least supporting characters.

Actually there is a graphic novel detailing this. A separatist commander immediately ordered the droids to save two jedi. They were curious and concerned about the clones suddenly turning on the jedi.

But here's an interesting question: What if Anakin was a defense master instead of an aggressive form?
So in that scenario would Obiwan be the more aggressive fighter or is it just Anakin following in Obi wans footsteps?
And if he took a more defenisve fighitng style then Ashoka would also take on a more defensive fughting style like Anakin.

An issue with this whole Theory, is the fact that Palpatine knows the Jedi have the Droid. As Sidious, he should have all of the Trade Federation Droids that are not captured reprogrammed to use a different algorithm and different encryption.

Ok I got an issue early on with Anakin somehow helping crack Kracken’s coding. He’s skilled with tech, but that’s just from things he’s picked up over the years, he wouldn’t be better than trained technicians or whoever the Republic had doing it as they’d be carefully trained on this job.

You lost me when you had the Jedi Council actually agree with Palpatine. By this point they were all ready suspicious of him, and they would not agree with what he said. If they did anything they would have told Anakin that it was at Palpatine's request that they did this or they would have fake the whole thing and just moved Anakin and the Droid off world and told Palpatine that he was on missions.

How about a Combination of What Ifs?
combine ,What if Darth Plagus survived with What if Anikan had an affair with both Padme and Asokah with What if the Sepritists had clones and what if the Droids protected the Jedi during Order 66. And then go forward in time from that fusion to see the world Luke and Lei grow up in.
In this alternate time line Luke and Lei have half siblings.
The Republic now has it's own droid army. many clones are decomissioned and go on to live normal lives and raise families.
Plagus goes into the shadows and goes on to rais new Sith.
the Sepritisists now have their own clone army lead by General Grievous.
What if Cin Drallig killed Vader in the temple
🤔 what of the Droid General himself in this scenario?
As we know darth vader was a natural engineer and could use mechaguru or whatever so what if he used skill to create nanobots to repair his lungs and burns while also making limbs that could conduct the force to make lightning. This could relate to inquisitor baris as she used nanobots in the bomb and he may remember nanobots and their uses. He could could also conduct experiments diguised as torture to fool sidious, learning to heal wounds, make force sensitive droids/limbs and using nano bots to manipulate mididclorians to strip or enhance the force in individuals.
What I was thinking was that he used nanobots to remove scar tissue especially around the lungs and he would be dipped in bacta or bacta would be applied this would allow him breath which means he can meditate more deeply. And for the limbs, it is possible to make material force sensitive and I was thinking he make limbs skeletal looking like in attack of the clones but would then cover the we either grafed flesh from his body or flesh made from his blood and other ingredients like perhaps kyber crystal this would make the force flow from him easier and perhaps with the sith alchemy in the limbs making his force lightning more powerful. Basically an uber vader who is perhaps stronger than full potential anakin.
What if anakin spirit in the world between worlds saved padme by making her a force ghost or new mother if the ones. She could make him help ben solo and others saying you got to help people who are suffering from your past actions.
What if anakin was piloting before attack of the clones and sensed ventress fall to the darkside as her master died and took his ship to the planet to investigate. Perhaps starting a romance as they are very similar in their stories.
Also what if ahsoka taught ben skywalker as she saw him as history repeating itself.
What if anakin was a jedi watchmen or wayfinder.
What if anakin went with kenobi to face maul and savage instead of adi gallia.
What if anakin fell in love with luminara or your own version of aayla secura romance.
What if oppo rancis trained anakin.
What if anakin met and fell in love with ventress just before the clone wars just after her masters death.
What if anakin became a jedi sentinel like a watchmen or one of those who find younglings.
What if evan piel became a mentor or second master to anakin.
Or anakin became a healer either before or after his mother death could be related to his friendship with offee or alternatively what if he was trained by tra sa who taught windu and actually did not forbid attachment as shown by her relationship with tholme , they could become like a pseudo parents to anakin and train him away from the temple in azati martial arts and from trasa the living force as she is a plant lady so imagine anakin controlling plant life.
What if anakin was found by jedi belonging to another sect like corelia or those nomadic jedi who allow attachment.
What if anakin went to dathomir in revenge of the sith to search for ways to save padme.
What if yoda decided to swap the masters of ferus olin and anakin.
So anakin with siri.
Obi with ferus
What if ahsoka and anakin crash landed on bendu's planet. Also what if darth vader joined thrawn in meeting the bendu and went on a spiritual journey back to the dust ball tatiotene.
What if the whills turned padme into a literal force angel to save vader.
What if darth vader went to darthomir to learn. New suit or perhaps more unique powers.
Resurrect talzin maybe.
what if Vokara Che became a mentor to anakin as anakin was being treated for bullying and trauma from being a slave.
What if anakin fell in love with luminara unduli, serra keto or bultar swan.
What if anakin was taught by agen kolar or sasee tin or adi gallia.
