Exploring the Americas / Peru - Huayhuash Alpine Circuit

7 days trekking in the Cordillera Huayhuash. Following a higher alpine circuit crossing glaciers and alpine ridges, avoiding the crowds on the regular hiking circuit.

Great video! were the crampons necessary, or would microspikes have worked ok? Did you just wear crampons with your running shoes?

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. You could do it with microspikes. It's not too steep anywhere, only Paso Rasac is a little steeper (not in the video). Though everything depends on how icy it is I guess... We had still plenty of snow cover on the glaciers. We had lightweight step-in aluminium crampons combined with approach shoes, since we didn't have spikes.
