- Sherco is one of the best manufacturers out there offering the most competitive dirt bikes that money can buy. In the Enduro segment it is a long dispute among the community about "Which stroke variation should you go for?".
I was on a mission to break it down for you through my perspective. We picked one of the best places on the planet, Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. We had a stock 250 SEF Factory and a 250 SE Factory at hand. They were only equipped with a couple extra aftermarket protection parts, nothing racey.
I took three hot laps around the track, two with 4T and one with 2T. I gave 4T a second chance because the track was battered with the heavy rain during the previous night and didn’t want the 2T has an advantage of an already opened lines.
In the end I felt more relaxed on the 2T because I used to it. Despite the two bikes are nearly at the same weight I find 2T lighter especially at the technical sections. On the other hand, 4T felt like it has more grip and on the straights it sure is more stable and determined.

Thank you for your honest approach, in general you are right it think. For normal enduro the 4stroke is a great option. Overall you should ride witch you are comfortable with. For mortals like us that is. Enjoy the 2 stroke Mario :-)

Great video! I've had both these bikes now and agree with you on just about everything in the video.
The 300 SEF is lighter and it feels like it in the bush, but the low down 300 SE torque from the 2 stroke just finds traction in hard terrain.
I wish I could combine elements from both bikes and make the one perfect bike (And it is coming in the future)
If i could have the 300 SEF weight and fuel injection system on the 300 SE....
this would be the ultimate Sherco 😍

Great video, I've got a Sherco 300 2 stroke and just got the new 350 6 days, best of both worlds. I think the 4 stroke is easier to ride.

Just the fact that 2T exhaust note doesn't carry for miles is the benefit for me, I can ride my 300 2T in areas and not disturb others, were the 4T makes it presence known to everyone in a large area.
Great video Mario...got an Idea of the whole track when you take us for a ride on the GoPro...really rocky and tight track! These conditions are definitly 2T-land! For that the 4T did a great job.....at the end of the day, you just need both motorcycles 😊👍 which you all the best for this year 🙋

Ya que Mario es un tipo sencillo y accesible se nota que lee los mjes y los contesta cosa que casi nadie hace, sería genial ver que puede hacer con una moto china enduro de 150 o 250cc cilindradas que no supere los 18hp, sería entretenido ver que se puede hacer con esas motos de las mas económicas del mercado, todo un desafío, sería con una fetiche ver a un profesional en una moto asi jeje, es solo una idea, un abrazo.
Excelente idea! Finalmente podríamos confirmar o desmentir la famosa regla de que es 80% el piloto y 20% la máquina!

It doesn t matter which is faster etc.Thing is which make you more happy for your hobbie and for me is always 2 stroke
They sound better, smell better :) , have better driveability with all that low end torque, cheaper to maintain (especially for us who buy used bikes), less weight up high, simple carbs which is nice etc etc
@@garagecedric run race gas, four strokes have always been easier to ride hence faster. I have a 2t 250 and a 4t 400 from similar years and the 2t has cost more over the space of 2 years for me.

I loved my 19' 300sef Factory 4t but in Hard Enduro it would stall so much more then my 2t.

For extreme enduro 2 stroke is king but normal fast enduro the 4 stroke wins!!

if you watch vid back look at the start when you were on two stroke you were in attack mode from the start. when you rode 4 stroke you were not in attack mode starting off look at your body actions. good vid but i am sure if you started off on 4 stroke like you started off on the 2 stroke the times would be closer.

Cual es mejor para el inicio del enduro
Definitivamente 4T! Se siente más estable y entrega la potencia en forma más lineal.... y ojo que tengo de las dos y prefiero mi 2T ahora que tengo más experiencia. Una 250 4T es la moto perfecta para partir y para que te acompañe hasta que alcances un muy buen nivel (o tal vez por siempre... dependiendo de que tipo de Enduro practiques)
Tengo 125 2 tiempos y 450 4 tiempos ktm las 2 del 2008 y muchísimo mejor en todo la 450 4 tiempos es un tractor por donde las 2 tiempos sea la cilindrada que sea tienen que subir a tope yo primera y a punto de gas sin pérdida de tracción y si quiero subir fuerte más fuerte que ktm 300 2 tiempos eso si en extremo cuidado con las temperaturas de la 4 tiempos y la 2 tiempos mucho menos pesada que la 4 tiempos

Which Dirt Bike is the best for you? There's no Go-pro helmet on the 2-stroke against two of them on the 4. How could we have an idea? Mario, you have to do this again with a 50-50 comparative.
