Hello Lovelies, I hope you enjoy watching this video . I have shared my experience of going to the Nigeria High Commission to renew my passport and here are the list of documents you should have
1. Application form
2. Payment Slip
3. Acknowledgement slip
4. Appointment slip
If your passport is stolen or lost or it's your first time obtaining a passport, you want to change your name or have a minor you have to
1. Have a consent form from parent/guardian
2. Birth certificate
3. Copy of your partner or husband's Intl passport
4. Marriage certificate
I hope this information is helpful and please don't forget to verify your NIN especially if you applied for your NIN in Nigeria

Sorry for your experience. Passport renewal/reissue is much easier and straight forward here in China. Once online application is completed, applicants don't need appointment. You just go there any time with your documents and you will get your new passport the same day.

I experienced the same with those doing NIN close to the embassy, they have bad customer service. After paying £50 cash for change of name and wasting 2 weeks waiting for the correction, I had to do it elsewhere.
My dear, sometimes word can't even describe or explain the ugly experience.
I had the same problem. So stressful and I am still waiting for my passport to arrive after 3 months 😪 .
I renewed since March but haven't gotten it till today.
Please can you show acknowledgement slip. I need to know what it is you are talking. What is written on it ? I have not got it, and I have a passport appointment this week

There's Premier Inn around also you could try Citadel where I stayed, might be pricey for a night
Hello! Thank you for this and sorry to hear your story! Please I would like to ask, when you were making your application did you fill in your husband’s surname (not your maiden surname) ? Because my expired passport Carries my maiden name but I would like to change to my husband’s surname.
Thank you for your message. If you intend to change your surnamebor have it reflect on your new passport I'd advise you fill in your husband's surname if not use your maiden name for the application. And please go along with consent from your husband, any change of name details you have for eg Newspaper pub or anything else, your husband's passport and marriage certificate. If you don't want your husband surname to be on new passport then no need for all these just use your maiden name. Otherwise just fill your husband's surname, there is a column for maiden name as well on the application. I hope I've answered your question?
Please have you received your passport? Because I renewed since March and haven't gotten the passport till today 😢. I've tried to contact them but they ain't reachable

@Aime Aiyudu If you are renewing for a child/children there is no need for a consent letter but if it is their first time of getting an Intl passport then you just need to write a basic consent letter together with your partner/husband saying you consent for the child/children to have an Intl passport saying you guys are their parents then both of you signing. One letter is enough for the both parents. Just start your names then the child/children's names and date of birth. 2 or 3 lines of sentence is enough so long as it covers your both names, relationship, address, the child's name and date of birth

Should still go for my appointment or go after the NIN name is updated? Will I be allowed to enter once my appointment has passed? Please help. Thanks
@dtravelblogger I would advise you wait till the NIN IS updated. And if you did yours around the High Commission, please check with someone else because those people aren't reliable. I am not sure you will be allowed if your appointment has passed. Best youbre schedule appointment. The only time you will be allowed to go in once your appointment has passed is if you attended your original appointment and then had an issue, then you can come back anytime when you have sorted the query. On the other hand, you can try to attend the appointment next week if you live in London at least you have nothing to loose and then if the NIN is still not updated, you can go back anytime.

I discovered that i made a mistake with my maiden name, while filling the online application. I have made payment already and cannot edit it. Please, do you know how I can rectify this?
I think you can abandon the application and apply for a refund then Start a new application

The fee was in dollars but in £ was about 116

@chimae4228 it's a slip that generates after you've made your application. Just go back to the portal, login and print it off its there.
@ijaylovesluxury what I have is Appointment slip, payment slip, and Application form. I can't see "acknowledgement slip" anywhere .

@@chioma6851 can't remember now (but I think one pair of those terms is synonyms). I received my new passport in July
