      I plan on staying company for the first year. I want to get a good foundation of the driving/delivery side of trucking before I worry about the bussiness side. I have my own preconceived notions of this lease program coming in, but I also know that there are quite a few people here who enjoy it immensely. I figure, spending a year getting to talk to various lease drivers, should give me a better picture.

      @@Ki04630 , have you done a lease with Stevens? Not trying to "catch" or bash, but I had the same thought coming to orientation having heard the CZcams videos of people having left very shortly after starting. Having been here, I have talked to tons of drivers who are happy, on either end (lease or company). In my orientation class, we had 7 or 8 returning drivers who left and came back, because they wanted to make money again.

    I have orientation on the 24th and I want to say u have to pay back 4200 out of 6k tuition back regardless if u finish or not, maybe the entire 6k. Orientation is in Colorado. No meals paid for or pay during this. Then 700 for training otr I believe. Then u can make 12 13 til u finish 3 months or get to certain miles I wana say. Then u can make 18 19 a wk. I was tryin to see if it was a better cdl school to start at so I’m doin research

    im based in houston, and looking at the LSC / stevens program to get my CDL going. When do you start getting paid by the company? after completion of the LSC stuff? are you getting paid during orientation? if so how much? after the 4 days orientation do you go back to houston or stay in dallas for the 4-6 week training before you graduate and are off the leash?

    • @fpstrucking
      @fpstrucking  Před 2 lety +2

      The LSC cdl program is three weeks. After passing your cdl exam at the college in Houston you travel to Dallas. You start getting paid $600 a week starting on your last day of orientation. Right after the 4 day orientation in Dallas, you go on a trainers truck for 240hrs behind the wheel. (Usually 5-6 weeks). Then you come back to get your own truck and go solo.

    • @fpstrucking
      @fpstrucking  Před rokem

      1000 a week is a guaranteed pay, if you don't make it for other reasons.....as in the circumstances happened at just the wrong times, so that you were ineligible for detention/breakdown pay, but were unable to run miles. In the 4 months I was a Company driver, I had 2 paychecks that they payed a small amout extra to make the total 1000 dollars (small, as in less than a hundred).

      I believe 2-3 weeks, I'm not positive how the schedule goes on the Dallas yard. Also depends on passing the test first try or not. Each subsequent test after a fail, has a 48 hrs wait period before you can test again, so someone testing three times to pass, might be there 5-6 days or more longer.

      They said you just have to check in with dispatch, letting them know you will be driving those times, cause yes there are more deer/animals and statistical more likely to fall asleep.
      I believe it is so they can keep up with drivers who are driving those times, (i.e. are there more lane departures etc. When a particular driver drives at night.)
