The fact that I grew up on Good Times, am now 52 y/o, and have NEVER heard Ralph's ADULT voice until this very moment, says we, as a collective, are missing out on the spoken word of a great orator. 🗣👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Exactly Im a few years younger but I was thinking the same Ralph has become very wise and articulate still professional!
I TOTALLY AGREE 😮
In recent years, he's made a few appearances and did interviews. There's an E! True Hollywood Story on Good Times as well from a while back, and he interviewed for that. He's shown up here and there.
Same here!!!
Well Ralph Carter is now 62.....the Michael on Good Times that we all know and loved is LONG GONE!!!!
I love this show. My favorite episode is called "The dinner party". They thought Mrs.Vincents meatloaf was made out of dog food. 😂😂
That's one of my favorites too!😂😂😂
You know she played Aunt Sung in Crooklyn directed by Spike Lee in 1994!
@makeup63 "The Lord is my german shepherd" 🐕🦺
Mine too! 😂😂😂
@clutch236 haaaa that part was hilarious!🤣
This brother was the very first culturally aware image we had ever seen on any regular series. I love that he has remained true to the culture in real life.
This is why there's a need for more wholesome, family entertainment in the form of sit-coms. Shows like GOOD TIMES could be re-made to fit the 21st century since there are still people in America who live in poverty. Many families continue to make the best of the bad times and the "good times" in their lives.
Very Classy Man Mr. Ralph Carter is. I've never heard of Ralph Carter or Bernadette Stanis ever in the media for any wrong doings. That's 1st Class people ❤
Nope. They had good parenting and people around them.
Ralph Carter is a legend!
Happy to see him and glad he acknowledged Eric Monte and Mike Evans as co-creators of Good Times
Because he knew the truth even as an impressionable kid.
It's so nice to here Michael talk about his time on good times ❤
You mean Ralph
One of the best characters on that show. I wish his storyline was explored more. He was the _real_ prodigy.
I’m glad he finally did an interview. This was my FAVORITE show as a child!
Thank you for this interview.
This was my childhood. Thank you to the cast! Well done, Mrs. Esther Rolle. Thank you for fighting for black families. A trailblazer you were. ❤❤❤
AMEN 🙏🙏 On Screen and Off Screen. Especially for our Culture
Good Times was before my time but im so grateful my parents exposed me to this wonderful show. It is one of my top 3 shows to this day. I've seen every episode.
I met Mr. Carter a few years ago in Harlem. He's one of the nicest, most approachable people.
Yes he is 🥰
Yes. Same here so kind.
Happy 50th Anniversary "Good Times" 🎉🎊🎈🎁🎂
This sitcom, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons and What's Happening really did black folks proud back in the day, and they still do. I was in grade school when they made their debuts, and grew up with all of them.
AMEN. There are few, if any, shows like those today. Many of today's sit-coms are either too silly, too raunchy, or they leave no clear message or theme.
@@joanhood3359 That's true on all points.
Amen! These shows paved the way for sitcoms with predominant black casts through the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Without those shows there never would've been such great shows like The Cosby Show, 227, Amen, Fresh Prince. Martin, Living Single, Roc, My Wife and Kids, Moesha, Everybody Hates Chris etc. These classics are just as relevant and just as funny today. They're timeless!
@@kendallrivers1119 Yep... They were the torchbearers, because if they had failed, then you already know what would have happened for future black sitcoms, and that would've been their excuse.
@jamesorsby7553 exactly! That's what happened when the damn fools at the NAACP got Amos and Andy canceled. There wasn't another Black sitcom till Sanford and Son came almost 20 years later.
I would love for Mr Ralph Carter to be back on my screen! He is such an icon!
...Ralph Carter most definitely has a story to tell. He has a wise & learned spirit.
👍🏾💯😊
He looks so good.
He does?
I know you're not talking about Ralph Carter aka Michael? He looks horrible and he hasn't aged well along with Jimmy Walker.
...It bears mentioning that eauty is only skin-deep & doesn't last forever. Mr. Carter has great wisdom, a kind soul, and a beautiful spirit which is more important than what's visible to the naked eye.@@daddygrace253
👍🏾💯🙏🏾😊
What?
He looks good for an 82 year old man, except for the fact that he's only 62.
Willona called his character "Gramps", which given what John and Esther said about not letting him watch the show, made sense. His character was ahead of his age and watching the show would have caused a bit of time confusion. The character was named after the co-creator, and the actor who played Lionel Jefferson - another groundbreaking character.
wow really?!! ,🙄
I will always remember Michael singing you and I at Thelma's wedding
I had a huge crush on Ralph Carter as a kid. So great to see him. Still so handsome.
SO GOOD TO SEE HIM!!!!!!!
GOD bless and keep Ralph Carter in the name of JESUS CHRIST!
I met him during Good Times years. One of the best times of my life.
SO appreciate
TV ONE sharing this interview.🥰
A legend ! So well spoken and well poised ! Eccentric in his own right !
Its great to hear "Ralph Carter"speak he is a source of information. He drops alot of gems. If, you catch it. Glad he gave credit to people that no one ever knew was involved in "Good Times". Such as "Michael Evans" from the "Jefferson" and "Eric Monte" the original screenwriter and Jane Murray..He seems very intelligent and real..Great Job, Ralph Carter..❤
This man has been talented his whole life.
Ralph Carter He's A Great Actor ❤
“Michael, this ain’t no time to be black!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Power to the people! ❤
Articulation of a culture and experience!🖤
He is a real genuine man I thank God for being blessed to have conversation with him
So great to hear from Mr. Ralph Carter! A Well spoken proffessional man!
Gosh! I would have never guessed this man was the one time little “Michael” character! 50 years ago! Glad those years have passed, but I certainly enjoyed Good Times!
“Mama, BOY is a white racist word!” This phrase is forever embedded in my mind!🤣
Ralph Carter is a true Brother and glad to see him. glad to See Eric Monte and Michael Evans getting there due as the true creators of this show. great reflections
I was older than you but I admired your performance as a child. Like me you put some age on! 😅
You look great still
You kept the wisdom from childhood i see.🎉
I am so proud of Mr. Carter amazing man and inspirational I would love to meet him and hear all these wonderful stories.
Ahhhh, so glad to see you as a mature grown man! Looking good, looking good!🥰🥰🥰
I feel old I’m just learning that the show ended the year that I was born I was fooled. Meanwhile when I use to watch, it was just a re run. Sadly we don’t have these kinds of shows on television anymore. It was the definition of love, family and being black. I’m now 44 and my children are in their 20’s and yes they’ve watched every episode and I am glad about it. The music and tv shows today just aren’t the same ughhh. Thank you Mr. Carter and all who were apart of the cast for showing us what unity and family means.
Mike good to see you again.
Good Times..My All Time Favorite Show..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad to see ralph still around he was definitely one of the standouts on the show good times he was a good actor and singer wishing him continued blessings and peace 🙏

Yes good to hear from you king, and legend, we love you Ralph aka Michael Evan’s 👑💙🙏🏽
I had a crush on Ralph Carter in the 70s. I am in my 50s and still watch Good Times, a classic show for my generation.
That "Brim" he's wearing in the photo shoot is spot on!
Rip Esther Rolle🕊
Great to see this legend.❤❤❤
This is absolutely wonderful!! When Good Times premiered I was just coming into this world. It’s only later that my old siblings introduced me to the show. And I’ve watched every since.
I'll forever love this show. Many blessings to the cast.🙏🏾
I love you, Ralph Carter Brooklyn Style, all the way two stepping it into stardom.
Those 3 minutes covered a lot. ❤❤❤
I grew up watching Good Times!!!❤️❤️❤️
I'm a few years behind him. I saw this showed when it first aired and I wanted to be Michael Evans friend on the show.
"Raisin" was the first Broadway show I ever saw, when I was around ten (but Ralph's replacement had already taken over).
I used to have a crushed on Ralph Carter! "Michael "
SING MICHEAL SING!!!!!
SHIT NOW I HAVE TO GO ON A GOOD TIMES WATCHING MARATHON!!!
SEASON 5 IS MY FAVORITE THO...
I love Ralph ❤❤❤
...A lot of People don't know Ralph's OTHER talent, that helped shape our Pop culture... he became the FIRST Male (Solo) "Disco Divo", back in 1975; only groups (Harold Melvin, Jackson 5, O'Jays, etc.) were charting Disco, and he had the first back-to-back Top 10 Disco hits, w/ "Young & In Love" (#10 Disco), & "Extra Extra" (#5 Disco), in 1975......
Wasn't aware if that and I'm a serious music head. I'm going to go look up those tracks. Thanks.
Ran into Mr. Carter, he was running down Bedford Ave, in Bed- Stuy and he was kind enough to stop and talk, classy guy indeed. Mr. Carter even signed my memo-book, NY's Finest & Good Times together.
Good job 👍 Miko ...I love ❤️ Good Times as a kid ❤❤
Always will be ETERNAL im black History.. Love this show
Rip Janet Dubois🕊
It's refreshing hearing from him... What a cool guy
Love this interview.
I remember when Good Times premiered. I was 10. Ralph was my first childhood boy crush. And when Janet came on the show, l loved her too.

What a great interview! Very interesting that he didn't actually watch the show while it aired. Would love to see more of this interview
Ralph Carter has come a long way since Raisin on Broadway
Wish this was longer ❤
Hello Michael ! 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏽❤️
Mike was my favorite character and my sister. Really all of them were..❤
I loved this. Thank you ❤
James dying killed the show it was Garbage pretty much then
Go Ralph aka Michael!!
Ralph Carter says it best - don’t retro-gress but progress
Wow..... That's crazy he was never allowed to watch his own performances in the show as a kid 😮.... It's good to see Ralph, though.
Love Good Times!😊
Ralph Carter still has that little boy charm.
The kids are good 🥰 but the dad is STILL really alive and he should be featured 🥰❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚
Rip Norman Lear🕊
I wanna see him make a new Techno version of "When You're young and in Love". 😊
Go head bro ❤❤❤
I am 57 years old and for me, the most nostalgic episodes were after the father died, because it was sort of like watching a tragedy every week. The show kept going on even after the mother left for a season or two -but you kept watching because you couldn’t believe the show was surviving all those hurdles
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember Ralph Carter when he was on Good Times , he was only 12 years old, but on this video, I would not know that he was little Michael Evans . Wow he must have some grandchildren , me and him are about the same age.
I love 💕💕💕 you RALPH CARTER ❤💕💕💕 FOREVER
That rent party episode was his coming of age moment lol
True LEGEND FACTS 👌
♥️
RC✊🏽
They should have done a reunion while Florida and Wilona were still alive. Everybody woulda watched that.
Boy I'd like to see Ralph speak on that animated atrocity they're trying to do on Netflix. Michael Evans would go off if he saw that 😂
Where can we find this ENTIRE episode about Good Times?!?
❤❤❤❤❤
Good Times …📺
