If youre internally resampling wavetables, dont transpose your octave below 0 or you will get the whole wavecycle divided between 2 frames which causes that noisy fluctuation seen at 9:15.
Oh Austin! Thanks a lot for the advice! I was confused at first but then noticed it was the sub that was at -1 Oct. It makes much more sense now that I know where that comes from!
Funny thing is I was just contemplating taking the serum course you did with DAWnation :)
Isn't that what the mirror warp mode does?
Thanks King
@@WoochiaI took the serum course by Austin when I very first started producing a year ago and I can still say that up until today he taught me 75% of what I’ve learned since I started. I’ve learned a few super specific tricks and tips that pertain to other music production categories here and there that he didn’t mention, but Serum Masterclass and School of Bass is where I learned most of what I know. Changed my life honestly!
😅😅
14:07 Bro just HAD to choose the most awkward frame to freeze his webcam in, while my ear canals are being sonically molested LMFAO
The same thing crossed my mind lol
Bro, I am suffering from depression, anxiety because of recent Break Up, I thought I wont be able to concentrate fully on this tutorial. But I sat & the way you explained everything, in the midway, I realized that I felt energized, focused, pretty, futureful, lovely & its because the way you explain things. Thank you for making such videos.
Man, I couldn't get a better comment. If you found energy and confort in a video I made, that's way more that what I could hope for. I know how depression is a bitch and how a bad break up can F someone up, so stay strong and if you can focus on something you love, that's the best part done. Hope this can lead you to create more amazing things. Good things will arise from unexpected places for sure
@@Woochia just wanna add to this and say i have a disease that causes chronic fatigue and am too tired normally to produce all the time, so i game instead. but today i decided to give up gaming to produce more, and was too exhausted to do anything. i watched your vid instead and i enjoyed it so much and it helped me alot! thank you!
I couldn't relate more right now man, just know as bad at this is, we are going to end up being better and stronger than ever! Time heals all, Just keep working on yourself and learn to love yourself, keep your head up
No one cares about your break up kid lmao get a life.
Bro look up no contact rule and go into no contact for 3 months, hopefully you started that right about the time you wrote that message!
14:08 bro staring into my soul
I don't even make dubstep but this video is the first one to inspire my sound design methods in YEARS
you are a legend you've allowed me much greater insight into my own sound design thank you
Man I still can't believe you put all this out for free. I'm learning how to make sounds and music as my own emotional outlet, and everything on your channel is so helpful, so informative, and so easy to understand when you explain it. And the production quality! Just.. my god. This really is the best sound design channel on YT and I can't believe there aren't more subscribers.
Wow thanks so much! Happy to see you like it and that it is useful ^^
Thanks a lot Mate!
For hard dubstep sound design you need import your already finished Bass back to oscillator instead of using basic wavetable every time. Like you start from unique sound to more unique sound, so there's types of Bass called Nuke Neuro Bass or Metallic Gun Bass and more...
Thanks for the tips. I haven't found much about nuke neuro bass or metallic gun bass (found things that are closed though), but I know I still have a lot to check.
Though I thought about this video like an episode 1. Another would be about an effect rack that you could use several times to add layers upon layers of effects, but this resampling to oscillator could be another episode by itself!
One of the best tutorials for sound design i've seen. i'm not exactly new at this but i got a lot out of it.
Great tutorial, so helpful!
I can't state enough how useful it is to have someone discussing the theory and technicality behind what you're demonstrating. This sort of teaching allows people to begin working on their own "sound." Thank you so much for this!
You're very welcome! This is exactly why I did it this way. I was surprise not to find other channel doing this. I'm sure there are!

I just sub'ed based on the quality of the tutorial. You give enough information without a lot of fluff. It could easily have been 40 minutes from someone else. It really feels like the right level of teaching/instruction to be useful to a student with prior experience with a synth.
Thanks a lot! :)
Im speechless, just so many useful tools and techniques, the whole Sound Design Theory playlist is a gem. You sir are an exceptional teacher and your work demonstrates that you genuinely care about supporting the music production community. Bravo!❤
Absolutely incredible.
Goated tutorial. Several pieces of sauce in there but learning that I can create wavetables like from resampling was an unexpected gem. It works in Vital too!
Great tutorial 🎛️🎶
This is great! Helped me learn a lot in a short period
The besr place to learn complex things in easy way.....absolutely brilliant lessons ❤🔥
This tutorial is an absolute gem, tremendous helpful 🙏🤘
Thanks! I'm actually thinking to do a sequel to this video, to bring this sound design further!
This is the absolute best tutorial for making unique creative wavetables and heavy sounds! ❤ thx so much for the tips!!!
Thank you! :)
This was very generous. ❤
Great video! 🤩
Wow this might be the most helpful sound design tutorial I've ever seen. Amazing 🙏
Thanks! :)
Been hyperfocusing on bass sound design vids for weeks and this is the only one I could focus on front to back and not feel annoyed my time was wasted. There is so much packed into 20 minutes here and it is so concise, great work.
I had the same feeling. This video came from watching tons on bass design tutorials and seeing all the same technics used over and over again without being ever (or rarely) really explained. Of course there are other techniques, but I thought these were the main ones
Excellent tutorial! Very informative! 👍
Thanks!
thanks for this clear step by step guide !!
Thanks you, my pleasure:)
Great content..thank you sir ❤
i;ve only watched a few minutes, and ill be exploring your channel way more, this is AMAZING!
Thanks a lot :) hope you find things you like
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Absolutely first class, you have a new subscriber!!
Thank you!
Dude, I'm only four minutes in and I cannot express enough how admirable your understanding of all this is. Plus, all this for FREE?! Praise da Lord!!
please go watch some vr streams, you will learn so much by doing

Haha thank you very much! ^^
@@do1609 Thanks for the recommendation.
Awesome vid! Thanks for the shout out!
Haha, my pleasure :)
This is such a good tutorial, many thanks
Thanks you :)
Thank you
C'est cool ces tutorials sont très bien faits 😊
Where have you been my whole last 5 years. Honestly helps so much thank you. That cheat sheet that is.
Hahaha, I'm happy this helps. 5 years ago I was probably uploading a video without knowing it would start a CZcams channel :p
Holy fuck I'm going in circles. Welp. I'm done with dubstep I just can't make it.
Une pure mine d'infos. Merci beaucoup 🙏
Avec plaisir 🙂
Very very good 💯
Thank you very much :)
this is by far the best sound design tutorial ive ever seen
Thank you for explain
great videos
Excellent
I'm actually more interested in the notes you are playing with the basses and how you decide what pitches to slide/modulate to?
I never had the vocabulary to describe that "trickling" sound at around 9:05, so i could never find how to make it. Okay, now my writing can truly commence. LOL
WOW AMAZING! Can we get a mixing series in the future? 🙏🏾💪🏾💯
This is part of the videos/series I'd like to make in the future, but I'm working on other videos atm
@@Woochia Can't wait, keep up the good work! 💯
Those sounds are very oldschool
Great presentation and sounds. Thanks for sharing
Im a tearout dubstep fanatic that takes a lot of inspiration from PhaseOne/Kai Wachi, is there a chance you could delve into and isolate some of the sounds made at 9:18-9:22?
Absolutely love your content, you explain things so well!
TY, crosslinking to my discords youtube resource channel
Very good stuff my man, pacing is just right and content is in depth enough to get the ideas but without getting caught up too much in irrelevant details.
Thanks! I have to admit, editing helps a lot with removing the irrelevant details :p
Someone who make a demo at the beginning and not at the end or totally not. Bless
I know the struggle ^^"
Here,have a sub!
Where the heck has this channel been
Hidden in the limbo of the mighty algorithm :o
What's that visualizer effect you have? Been looking for a good oscilloscope!
That's a max for live device I found on max for live's website a while ago. It's just called "visualizer" 😅 I hope it's still there
good video and nice cheat sheet, I thought you were gonna show us how to make those cool sounds in the beginning tho ;(
Aw sorry 😅 the sounds are available in a pack on my patron, but I had planned to show how to make them in short... I just didn't make those shorts (yet) though
Show your sample pack, please 🙏 I really like this snare
Bad news: the snare is not part of the pack, only the serum patches are.
Good news: the snare comes from a free sample pack from cymatics (may have to double check that though)
Son,you got something Iheven t seen for ages Gonfollowow you out of pure intrest....... God-Man you are Good. FINELY One who Knows .
Very helpful👏🤟. Please add this video to your “Sound Design and synth” playlist
Thanks! It should be already in it (at the end) but I'll double check
👌
what year is it? shit sounds like it was made for 2008
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥇💯
Sounding like blue man group at the end lol
🙊👌
Close but no cigar, kid
Yo buddy your site isn't emailing files 👀👀
I just corrected it, it should work now. Thanks for the heads up
@@Woochia no worries. Cheers !
Simple solution: just use samples
After about 10 mins of watching this I was lost 😂 and came to the exact same conclusion. This is on a whole different level of producing 🤯
Fun Fact: "Dubstep" has been made in 1992
Your website is broken. When you click on one of the free products the popup is completely broken.
Thanks for the heads-up, I'll check it out
@@Woochia Yeah maybe FYI: I was using Brave browser. Might be Browser specific CSS problem ;)
The sounds you create here are not modern dubstep sounds. There are some interesting techniques and lessons here but ultimately, sounds like this do not cut it in modern bass music.
You're right, this is more of a wide introduction to get all the basis down to make effective sound design. This would deserve a couple of sequel videos to show resampling tricks, racks of effects you could stack on that and other techniques to make them more modern. Though if you have techniques or channels to recommend, I'd be glad to hear about them!
Meanwhile, back in 2020, sounds like this were made: czcams.com/video/tkfYJo4L1tc/video.html
Reeeeeeeee
Dubstep is low bass and deep
Its power like rumble of earth ._.
Idk seems more like click bait for a tutorial on old dubstep sounds
Is it just me or were all these sounds trash in the context of riddim/brostep?
This isn't dubstep, IMO?
14:10 bro that stare scared me shitless
The lightskin stare
how do you make your eq color blue?
Which one? At what timing? If it's at the beginning, maybe that's just Ableton's EQ
@@Woochia yeah, it was ableton 10's eq color is diffrent
