GT6 - SRT Tomahawk X VGT vs Red Bull X2011

- At 3 tracks. None of them perfect laps really but with these cars it's damn near impossible to nail all sectors. SRT is clearly faster, without KERS and DRS too but the redbull is significantly more fun to drive. I'll summarize the characteristics:
Tomahawk X:
- A lot more power
- Brakes later, harder
- Very slow at low speeds, especially entry
- Carries more apex speed at VERY high speed corners
- Snap understeer on exit
X2011:
- Has to brake earlier than the SRT
- Point and shoot entry
- Suffers a little on high speed corners compared to SRT
- Neutral on the exit with occasional oversteer.
- Doesn't need Hulk Hogan 20" pythons to stay straight on the straights. - Hry

Nice video. Straight-to-the-point side-to-side comparison. I think the reason as to why the X1 is slower is because the X1 was design to test the limits of the human body, whereas the Tomahawk was design to exceed those, hence why SRT also designed a special G-Suit just so drivers could pilot that thing. The X1 clearly has the advantage on low-speed corners because of its ground effects fan, but then that said, the fan can only generate virtually a constant amount of downforce, whereas the flaps on the SRT create more downforce as the car goes faster.
ZeroStriker426 Thanks. Yeah, even sitting on a chair the SRT was a bitch to drive. Very physical. When I tried lowering the wheel settings I lost the feel. It's a trade off, either get banged up driving it or not have a proper feel of the grip. Can't imagine anyone driving that thing without a G-suit and power steering.
ya I agree, and there is the body downforce of the X2011 though not just the fan, but ya the hawk has quet a few advantages
In power circuits like these The Tomahawk is definitely quicker but I give credit to you to keep that Tomahawk on the track, Very heavy and very prone to understeer even when the springs are at their stiffest. I think the Red Bull is much easier to drive due to a much more manageable amount of power and torque, as you can be much more confident with the throttle during high speed corners. Nice driving anyway, very useful!

Zip Zap Generally, power circuits are technical tracks with long straights and fast corners so you can get the most 'power' out of your car on that track
E.g. Spa has a long straight and a fast swooping hairpin that you can take at high speeds while things like street circuits are filled with slower corners and narrow straights meaning you can't take them as fast as a track like spa

In my opinion, the Red Bull cars are all easier to drive than the Tomahawk X, although in most cases the Tomahawk X is faster anyways.

The Red Bull X1 is feasible as Adrian Newey provides an explanation of how the performance is achieved. This Tomahawk is pure make believe, no explanation is provided, and the car resembles an oversized luxury limousine with the performance of an F-22 Raptor. It is just not believable. The thing doesn't look remotely like an F1 car or single seat race car, it looks like a cross between a limousine sized NASCAR and GT3 car. How is something so big and bulky supposed to perform like that? It doesn't have any kind of sleak, low drag profile or nothin. They never mentioned a fan car formula, again its like a hollywood where anything goes.
The tomahawk doesn't exist in real life, but the x2010 s. Vettel does.

I managed to do 1;15.4 with X2014 Fan Car around spa (Stock/no SRF/ RS tires)
I compared them on R246, the Tomahawk was blistering on the straits but the RedBull could take some corners flat out. In the end the Redbull was about 2.5 seconds faster IIRC.
Brett Javier I have a lot of videos I want to upload including part 2 to this but my fucking ISP changed my internet package and now my upload speed is laughable. Uploading a video used to take 10-30 mins now it'd take 18-22 hours. They're bullying us into subscribing to their expensive packages.
I promise you mine is worse. Today I have 6.3mb/s down and .87 up. That's the best I've seen it in two years.
The srt only wins with more hp. Drive the Red Bull with this power and it wins easily

Should've put full downforce on the X1 it can handle so much better than what i just saw.
Johnny Walters I can put more downforce in the SRT as well, or use kers/DRS. If anything, putting more downforce in the x11 will slow it down on the straights where it's already losing almost all of its time.

Defiantly got the red bull as the better car though. It actually handles. Someone who can make the 2011x fast is a good racer. Someone who can be fast in the srt is just an alien who spent way to much time learning how to handle a ludicrous car. The r version of the tomahawk is alittle more logical and I really enjoy driving it but as far as stretching the limits of what is POSSIBLE it has to go to the 2011x. The tomahawk is just another ridiculous computer simulation that is in all ways impossible in the real world.
the hawk x is really not that unrealistic, it doesn't do that good through turns to it needs the panel's, and it goes as fast as it does because of the huge amount of HP, and how lightweight it is, the cars weight may be hard to actually make but surely not impossible if someone has enough money

I prefer the stock version of the tomahawk x it barely reaches 350 and by being slower it feels less of a death wish 👌😉
God my ears hurt after that. I haven’t played many gt games, but one this I’ve heard is that the car sounds, especially the ps3 era of gt games are terrible. Wherever I heard that from was correct. They are insane to watch, but the x1 just makes a loud noise, and the tomahawk sounds like a loud barber shop buzzer

I think both are very closely matched. On a power track the Tomahawk wins thanks to its insane power, but the Red Bull is better on corners and has more grip/downforce.
The tomahawk braking is like a cheat, way too good.
nixxxon18 Have you driven the SRT? I'd like to see you drive with 5-8 wheel settings and all aids off for a few consecutive laps.
Besides, (over)using the track is something even F1 drivers do. Granted their times got deleted yesterday when they did that, but they usually allow it because the lost time off track cancels out the advantage you gain later on the straight.
And no they're not matched. Like I said in the comment and description, the redbull is indeed much better in the low-medium speed corners but I can only think of a couple of tracks where it'll be faster overall. Keep in mind I didn't use KERS nor DRS in the SRT.

if you drive without any aid and you keep on going off track and cutting corners, it means you need some aid - Im usually against them but with such powerful a car, TC at 1 is very helpful.
F1 drivers sometimes do it and get warnings because you can gain time advantage in certain places (for example turn 1 at Red Bull Ring)
Put the X2011 in any twisty track with max aero setting, pretty sure the Tomahawk would get humiliated.
nixxxon18 I'll take that as a no. If you look closely at the kemmel straight, you'll notice the car keeps going right and left. It's a workout keeping the SRT on the track.

BHRxRACER As a no what? I've obviously driven the Tomahawk X several times, and although being very fast, you can still choose whether or not to cut corners and all that stuff.
Yes it is forbidden now, it makes sense as the rules are that you are not allowed to exit the track in order to gain time. Same for silverstone, there's some corner where you can gain time by going wide off-track, for example Copse
nixxxon18 DS3 or wheel? If wheel, which one and what are your settings?
It is a choice in some of the corners but it's a natural reaction to compensate lost time elsewhere. For example, cutting a bit of the kerb because I braked a few milliseconds too early evens things out.
Places like copse and pouhon were miscalculations and my gained time is canceled out by either turning in late/early or covering more distance.
If you've driven the SRT with 5-8 wheel settings you'd understand. I must have done 10 laps with each car on each track. It's far from easy to nail EVERY corner and in the SRT it's actually physically exhausting just driving it. I might do round 2 this weekend with downforce maxed out on both cars and lighter wheel settings.

ya I've tested x2014 fan car/standard, x2011 prototype, and x2010 and x2011 is a little bit better than the rest, it feels more like a muscle car than the others, and the x2010 came in close second, x2014 fan 3rd, standard forth, driving all these cars there lap times really surprised me when compared, the x2010 and x2011 can do almost identical lap times on curvey tracks which I found odd at first

2K-Gamming Those come in all colors, not just white. Anyway from my experience this one is the fastest one overall. The new fan cars from 2014 are better in the corners but they have less power.
you are talking about the x2014 fan car, and it's not really the fastest if you test them all, the x2010 feels the fastest when you drive it but the x2011 is really a bit better
and then do the power from the SRT inside the X 2011 and you have the fastest and best car ever.

I've not played GT6 in quite some time, but I still can't understang the SRT Tomahawk. How can this car beat the Red Bull, which is supposed to be the perfect racing car? It might be fast, but this handling and breaking is sooo stupid. For it to have this performance, it should at least look like a racing car - perfect aerodynamics and a fan, just like the X2014 -, but it just looks like any average concept car. It's like watching a Lamborghini beating a F1 in both speed and handling. Ridiculous.

They defiantly need to have less Japanese cars. Theres 675 Japanese cars, 145 USA cars, 69 UK cars, 133 German cars, 57 French cars and 66 Italian cars. Kinda ridiculous that over 60% of the whole games cars are fucking Japanese. And whats the point of putting in cars like Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius and Honda Fit. No one is ganna fucking drive those. I don't understand why we need 16 different models of Civics and 53 different Skylines. The game has 1,197 cars but no 70's Ford Escort, Bentley Continental, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin DB5, Henessey Venom GT or Rolls Royce. We defiantly need more or every car to be prenium, and for fucks sake, please upgrade the engine sounds.

it's because the panel's on the hawk make it turn weird, its hard to handle that car especially with oversteer being scary for wiping out

+Donnovan Mason well it's not the overall downforce that's the problem, it's because with the redbull it's stable and nothing moves so you have stable turning and control, but with the hawk the panel's move so the more you turn, your not just turning more you are getting more downforce because of the panel's turning with it which makes your car turn more than you expected, which makes oversteer harder to deal with and turns harder to negotiate

It's the basics of cornering idiot! 4 example, if there's a 90 degrease corner on the right, you should stay left before the corner, in the corner dive into the right side, & then go back to the left in full throttle... This is the technic of getting corners right
