Do you have Other Do's or Donts for Speed Ramping? Let me know!
Thank you so much very useful 👍😉
Can’t you also do it in fusion tab?
Hello sir,can you make color grading tutorial, pls🙏
Thanks for those explanations! I‘m wondering though if I can assign a keyboard shortcut to directly display the „retime speed“ curve, if I assign one to the retime controls I alwas have to change it with my mouse from „retime frame“ to „retime speed“ which slows me down significantly in my workflow, considering that I do a lot of speedramping on a daily bases... Anyone knows how to solve this?
I’m not getting the graph with the speed points when I click on the retime speed box any idea as to why that might happen
Every time I need to get better at an effect I think "I bet Billy Rybka has a video?" and what do you know... you do!
Haha I love this! Thanks so much man :)

Very good tutorial. For a noob like me, i like that you describe "when to use" something
WOW! I have been looking for how to adjust the abruptness of the speed ramps in resolve for like almost a year and never found a tutorial that actually got to the point before I lost interest! Thank you! Just made all my videos better! :)
Personally i love a good hard switch from 100-500% or vice versa, it has its place. everything does. great stuff man.
Clear, concise, quick and easy. We love smooth! Earned a sub for sure.
bro finally an ad ! i clicked on it and obviously watched it . way to go my man
Literally just what I was looking for in a youtube channel! came in clutch bro!! Thank you!!
Thanks so much! Your presentation is really helpful , as always.
Broooo huge thanks for posting this!!! 🙌

Your videos really are the best. Keep them coming.
This is the one! Great tutorial very clear and precise, thanks!
Very helpful and well explained video! Thanks for making and sharing it! 🙏🏽 👍🏽 👨🏽💻
This just helped my understanding of speed ramping and using 60fps on a 24 timeline!
This is more like the Billy we got to know in the beginnin of your videos. Much better to look at, listen to and does not feel forced 👏🏻Keep this up mate 😊Great video, i still dont feel like i hit it with my speed ramps. Feel like i miss the beat or the music somehow. But will take a new deep dive into it and practise more. Cheers, stay safe 👏🏻
I use this for my skateboarding videos, I find the best way to ramp it is to start on the frame where the board pops and end it a few frames before the landing. Sometimes it looks cool to have a smooth ramp to start and a sharp one to end or vice versa. Don't overdo it in one video usually only do it once.
The best video describing this, well done!
Awesome tutorial, thanks allot!
Good video Billy, thanks!
That is so much easier... Thanks Billy. Keep the videos coming.
So a helpful video! I just switched from Shotcut to the basic version of Resolve. I definately will watch a lot of your videos!!

Thanks Bro! Now I know when to use and when not to use. More power!
Ahh. I have recently moved into Davinci after more than 15 years in avid media composer. It is so much easier in here than avid. And these tit bits of info help me confirm what I have learnt in the last 5 weeks. Thank you.
Going to try find a place to use this in my next video thanks!
Really nice and usefull video, thanks
I am not new to video editing, just Davinci Resolve. I came from editing in PowerDirector and its pretty easy to use but a bit too confined in how to use it. Thanks for the easy and detailed tutorials brother, HGA.
I was waiting for this video for so long..!
So great bro! Glad you like it!
Billy your my hero bro
Thanks a lot Billy, I think this effect will work well with Music videos.
Keep up the work 🎥👍🏾

Great video Billy! The video editor for Alec Steele is a master of speed ramping combined to footage and sound/music!
Dude you are literally the best davinci resolve youtuber I have ever known!!!👏🙏✌👌
Well done!
Man I did not know retime curves existed! I've been trying to everything with the speed point handles lol. Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video. It was more than helpful. Got here after seeing Omar (TM) looking at this video earlier today. (I’m a part of VRA as well.) Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you so much.

thanks a lot
YEA, THIS WHAT I WANT
Everything I wanted to know is in the video tnx ❤️🤙
thanks!
Please tell me how to do that swipe transition that you do in the start it’s really awesome!!😍👌
Thank you
Hey Billy, thx for your vid.
Would be great to make a series of Do´s and Dont´s. There are a lot of situations for Dont´s :-)
A lot of people use permanent transtions and the most of the vid content get lost. But the prob is, that many rookies try to copy that style without knowing all of the dont´s. Would be great to see a masterclass of dont´s at your channel like the masterclass transition of Jessy Driftwood ;-)
3 thumps up from germany. Great job man...!!!
We love smooth my friend lol
Awesome
Cool!
Right on time, saved my ass you billy.
Love you man
Haha yes!!! So glad!
very nice
I legit just taught myself how to do this 2 days ago! Where were you Billy! :)
Haha thats so funny! I was 2 days behind lol
@@BillyRybka better late than never. You still provided great advice I can now modify my knowledge with!
I love smooth
thanks
We can also select the clip and then press ctrl + r to open retime controls
Great video Billy, nicely explained, Easy and like you were talking to a 2 year old, the way I like it !!!! ( I always tell people: Explain to me like I was a 2 year old kid ). BTW, could you do a video on the proper way of using the Stabilization tool on Davinci, I noticed that it affects the clip if used the wrong way, warps, makes it jittery, etc, etc. Give us a good tutorial on how to do it properly. thanks again !!!!
lots of love from INDIA
Great
You love smooth so much 😂
Can you do vidoe on how to do that transition in 0:51?
Do you happen to have a video about the best export settings for davinci resolve ?
I really enjoy ur videos can you please re create the sonic effect?
Super video! I applauded for CA$2.00 👏
not much new subject but its still ok :(
Your smooth slow motion video was good :) and it helped like a lot
No, but there are a lot of people who don't know this stuff :) thanks
@@BillyRybka yea that true :0
7:34 I agree that people walking or doing some action speed up looks goofy 😂
i love it. could u also do something on how they make lyric video in davinci. thanks
Yeah that could be cool!
Can you make video on how to create subtitle fast? Thanks
It's possible that the "Retime Curve" would be set to SPEED and not FRAME by default? Thank you.
I was thinking the same thing
I love you
Love you too man!
Hi Billy,
Thanks for the great tips. I have a question about synching the speed ramp with a beat moment in the music. How can I , let's say, put the fast forward moment under a specific music beat moment? When I try to do it manually I either miss the beat moment or the speed ramp starts in the wrong scene. I hope I was clear about my question :)
Great tutorial as always! Do you know if it's possible to setup the speed ramp to go from Retime Frame to Retime Speed automatically?
Also, here is a great shortcut that is kinda hidden in the program:
alt + left mouse click: to create speed points directly in the curve (does not work in the clip itself, it must be in the curve).
And if someone know the shortcut to transform the keyframe from linear to ease in and out, please let us know! :D
I've used this github.com/kotylo/davinci-resolve-retime-speed AHK Script to preselect Retime Speed with Alt+Ctrl+S. You can assign different shortcut if you compile it yourself.
@@funkylosik That's nice! Good that I am not the only one using AHK for this type of things! :)
@@RBGRafael cool. We have to fix ourselves what Blackmagic is too lazy to do. I've just tried the script on different PC, some images (Retime Frame) seem to have some different pixels/fonts and I had to recapture them :\ Seems like some better solution is needed to reach more users :)
@@funkylosik I totally agree!
Usually I avoid image search by using shortcuts and tabs to navigate through the menus, which is faster and more reliable, but I still didn't found how to do this in this particular menu, so I use image search because I'm lazy xD
But if someone can figure out how to jump through the checkboxes using only the keyboard, I may be able to improve the code! :)
very good video thanks. subs and like for you
Hello!
I really enjoy your videos, there is a ton of creative stuff you show us, but...I am using the free version of DaVinci, so it´s kinda frustrating to go through the steps until reaching the point, where the free version doesn´t cover it anymore. Is there a chance to indicate at the start of the video, if the free version will suffice, or if we need the big one, and which version you are using?
Beside this, and as I mentioned before, great stuff.
Thanks a lot.
My daughter's bf has the same chair :-) Nice advice on FPS (24, 60, 120)
i cant create same as in premiere. Motion blur with frame blending was awesome in premiere for real estate videos. Here is so much complicated because i need use blur effects with keying it. :( Have solution?
Give me your desktop wallpaper link, please. Other than that I love your videos.
So question. If I recorded in 60 fps and I'm trying to achieve a really good slow mo, Do I edit in a 60fps timeline or go down to 30 fps timeline?
Yo whoever's footage you're using knows what he's doing ;)
