Lmao
Thats a different game…
His editor did 😅

He doesn't want to get sued again...
So humble of hikaru calling fabi.....one of the greatest of all time
I mean dude does have like the third highest rating of all time it's not really a stretch
that is not what humble means.
I don't get how that's "humble"
But he's one of the greatest in history, world runners-up are decent
Bro thinks he is watching Ufc
I can assure you that Eddie and Marsala are two names no Croatian has ever had
I love that Hikaru agrees with and respects his tough competitors enough to basically say there's a huge gap in skill between an FM or even IM and Fabi or Hikaru.
Ye. The elo system is based off the idea that for every 400 points you should be 10x mor likely to win (so a 1400 is 10x more likely to win against a 1000 and a 1900 is 100x more likely to win against a 1100) by that logic looking at fide ratings fabiano should be at least 10x more likely to win and the multiple is even higher looking at chesscom ratings
Correct, it's not even close
@@TheArizus10x more likely to win compared to what??
@@omniyambot9876 read the comment again
@@felipekiritschenko huh? I've read it gain. Explain it to me. Compared to what?
Congratulations on 2 million Hikaru 🎉❤
fake bot
I am not convinced with the Fabi case. f4 and f5 seemed so natural. The majority of the moves looked so natural to me. The time usage did not have a "cadence" as suggested. He spent half of his time on bishop a4 and f-pawn push. They are the big moments of the game. I am not convinced that he cheated.
f4-f5 is not a wowzers move at all. It’s extremely common to play this in these types of positions. Game looked legit to me
If you look at any Magnus or Capablanca game all moves look natural as well. It doesn't mean that a random FM can play them consistently for 20 moves in a row.
@@Martin-qb2mwbut an FM might have a good game and solid prep once in a while right.. didn’t look ridiculous to me.
@@tr4nnel752 Yeah but take a look at Eric Hansen versus 2500-2600 players for example. Eric knows no theory and is constantly outprepared and down 2 minutes on the clock versus 2500 and he always wins in the end. Fabi is much much stronger than Eric and this FM made him look like an amateur. It's not impossible that you are right, you could be, but to me it it is very unlikely.
cheaters think long at a random move. or make an occasional inaccurate moves to "trick" the fair play system.
Please can you get Fabi and C2 on your show for even just a quick interview/catch up? I’d love to see more collabs PLS ❤
The fact he saved it from there....love the way they jump around the accusation
Hikaru is on a forever hawaiian vibe
From perspective of player of similar strength to that FM (2400 elo), I would say that none of these moves were particularly suspicious. And with a little bit of time I could figure out them as well. F4 move is very logical, as black king is not very safe and you want to open up the position. SImilarly, F4-F5 plan is natural to stop black from playing F5.
And do not forget that he was facing one of the best players of our times, so he could be stressed out and take more time than usual on his moves. I had similar situation when I once played Hikaru online.
LOL
He plays like a god but then blunders the win like a 900 lol
@@zeimarunescapeNot sure he blunders, maybe he just liquidates to draw with insufficient material, seeing that he cannot keep up with time, and is in danger to lose on time. I do it all the time in blitz on my meager level. I can't move very fast, so if I don't see a clear mate in few moves with few seconds left, I'll just liquidate into draw, trying to get insufficient material on board
@@dmitripogosian5084 exactly as you said it. The guy that played this game is my close friend and I can assure you he didn't cheat. He sent the game to me the moment the game ended and said the last few moves he played were just to secure the draw since his biggest weakness is that he's slow compared to the other blitz players, and he had 2 seconds on his clock.
Fair enough assesment bro. From a perspective of lowly thousand elo player, I can't make out of it.... lmao!
Fabiano played a bad opening and got punished. Time usage was not every five seconds per move as he suggested. And it is very natural to get nervous in time trouble. He had less than 5 seconds at the end so blunders happen. At the end we need more games of this player to make conclusions so let's not ruin someone's reputation.
Fun fact this guy won the biggest Italian piano competition in 2017,it says on Wikipedia.
It appears Eddie has an affinity for winning against Italians.
Just saw his wikipedia article edition history and it seems as if he wrote it himself
So what is his name exactly, I can not find him? Which country is he from?
@@DDZGRH EddieMarsalla is his chess name. But his real name is Ivan Vihor
@@larubiano0 It's honestly pretty funny to read lmfao, he's clearly very high on himself
Ivan Vihor even looks similar to Hans. 🤣🤣🤣
Very steady Eddy
Perhaps in analysing this, great players should take into account the psychological barrier to beating them. It could easily be that a lesser player is unable to follow through with a clearly winning situation against a Hikaru or a Fabiano because they can't believe they are actually doing it.
There should be absolutely no tolerance for cheating ... it kills the game !!! Almost every day I get a message on the server that I got back some points because someone had cheated against me. This is ridiculous! Even one instance of cheating and that account and person should be banned for life !!!
bro really did make the best detective thumbnail
Nice tactical game,nothing strange here
I think this is one of the occasions where there were some clear pawn pushing opportunities that looked interesting and white basically just played them, trying to pressure the opponent on time. None of these moves looked too weird to me frankly. Especially the pawn pushes, I could definitely see even a lesser player going for these. Didn't look very suspicious to me :/
lmao I was half listening to this and thought Hikaru was talking with them for 5 mins
1:15
I thought all three are in conference and I was shocked that how the video is playing if at bottom right the video is paused
then I got what is happening
9:20 That was odd indeed. Yet, his time usage is never 5 sec. per move (as Fabi claims), and the bold moves are classified by the engine as mistakes and inaccuracies
then he didnt cheat case closed
Same thing when Crybaby carlsen lost to Hans, he blamed him for cheating, because how else would someone so much lower rated be winning? And neither are banned, false accusations coming from ''top'' players who cry when they lose
@@gabrielandersson9858not the same case Hans has admitted to cheating in the past and magnus is the greatest player of all time he knew something was suspicious but till this day we will never know if Hans cheated or not no point in your comment besides hate
@@gabrielandersson9858 Hans couldn't go into details about his thinking (because he didn't think), and Magnus also commented that he never appeared to be in thought. If you can not explain your solutions, you have cheated. That's true in Math/Physics as well as for (high level) chess.
Fabiano at age 30 looks like he's 15.
Looks away .. WHAT
To be honest this is one of the least compelling cheating accusations I've seen. Seems well within reason for a 2500 to play these moves with that timing on their own. Obviously, there's a huge gap in skill between Fabi and this player but not large enough where it's impossible for this guy to put a solid game together and be winning/not lose.
I think fabi is right, He was once rated 2844 for a reason. He has played many accurate games while competing with sone of the highest rated gms, and has far greater chess knowledge than we have, He could sense if his opponent is cheating
Didn't feel too strange to me either. Maybe it's a different game. Fabi said something about consistent timing between moves. This one doesn't.
?
@@BrennenChua yeah..
@@BrennenChuacuz he was just coping
Lol, and what is your rating? To throw such an advantage with little time is quite a big argument against him.
I got this game on my cell phone from mutual friend, who I share with the guy who almost beat Fabi, he's croatian FIDE master and I assure you that he didn't cheat. Whole group chat wen't crazy two weeks ago when our friend sent it and we were amazed that our compatriot had Fabi on the ropes.

Love the hair of hikaru now fr..
Ovaj tip pored Caruane izgleda kao " Ja bih kakio, al ne mogu"
*Welcome back everyone!*
Did Hikaru just pause them in real life?
One thing to consider about "1 in 100" or even "1 in 1000" chances is that there are many games played on Titled Tuesday. If there are a few hundred games per round, and 11 rounds, and 2 Titled Tuesdays per day...there are thousands of games every Tuesday. It makes sense that at least one of those would be unusual. A 1 in 10,000 chance would seem as likely or not, each Titled Tuesday. Of course, probability doesn't explain everything, but it is something to consider. (If anyone has the numbers for the typical number of competitors, that would make these calculations more meaningful)
i dont think it works that way lol
@@mrpubes4765 exactly
wow Fabi drew against stockfish
Levi “people have different approaches I know some people and just cheat every game”
Since that’s is the first few seconds of the video you can replay it over and over and seethe
This is a normal game, d5 and f5 are first candidate moves to consider because the opponent have the king in the center. I don't see anything weird on it.
I dunno, I saw most of the moves in a second and I'm like 1900-2000 on lichess. this game doesnt look complicated to me. I'm surprised one of the players was Fabi, looks like one of my games
What, indeed.
bit alarming that title tuesday has cheaters in it that don't have their account banned - I assume it was reported and looked into?
The real problem, good players might only need 1 or 2 computer moves to draw when lost, win when even
I'm not a tournament player, only about 1900 in lichess, but I've played games to 98 percent, which I suppose is easier since everyone I play is also in my range, playing moves with obvious answers
This same opponent is also featured in a YT video from last year on Magnus’ channel called something like “Magnus is surprised when opponent sacrifices bishop” or something. Hella sus.
I doubt this is the game Fabiano was referring to, but time pressure or no, I’m no FM but I saw the move Rxh7+ immediately. So strange that was missed.
I've seen Eric Rosen, who's higher rated than this guy, blundering his queen in a rapid game for several moves in a row to a basic tactic. His opponent (also like 2300-2400) missed it, too. So no, it's not actually that strange. It's just much easier to backseat. Time pressure and mental fatigue are real.
poor fabi
I blame the internets
Magically blunders start appearing 😂😂
question hikaru are you going on kick?
eddy marsala moment...
why did the mystery FM take 47 seconds on Ba4?
Everyone who said first wasn't first 💀

This guy can't be cheating
C square podcast ....nice i watch them too...
recently i played a game against someone im certain was cheating
he had 99.3% accuracy and was using the same amount of time for every move
looking at his other games it doesnt seem like he cheated against anyone else
i still havent gotten my elo back from losing to the cheater
I have played over 99% accuracy in a couple of games before and I'm rated 4-600 😂
@@grak1396 If your game is finished before 10 moves, it will show you high accuracy because most of it are book moves which are 100 percent accurate
@@mdzaidshaikh1863 Yeh, usually they blunder a queen and then abandon the game 😆
Classic 800 losing and claiming they cheated
I know someone who is not even a CM, but he knows a line with different variances very well, he plays it at a GM level. He has a lot of games with > 99% accuracy, he even beat some GMs and super GMs in that line. If he plays other line, he is an average player. He was reported foe cheating several times, but his account was never blocked since it is clear that a cheater would not blitz the first 20 moves of a game.
We’ll never know. But we all know.
yep
d5, f4/f5, Ba4 etc all seem like normal legit moves go me. They would all be candidate moves for me and I'm like 2000.
The main point is that there aren't really any other good/attacking moves so if course you will consider d5 and f4/g4. I don't understand why naka called them out. Same with the time usage. he took 5-10 seconds longer on some moves which is nothing suspicious.
If fabi didn't call it out and naka went through the game I bet he wouldn't have suspected a thing..
For 2M, we want to see a 2nd member in hikaru's life
You need only fans for that *cough cough* 😂
Ahem ! A female one at that
You'll know if & when it happens yo! ;)
Why is it weird he havent played since? Before June 6 his last games were on May 16th
Wait was that a hidden roast of gotham 1:40
FM Eddie Marsalla think he stockfish
If i played GM of course i need engine from move 1, but if i played agains same level, i just need one or two moves at critical positions and it was enough to give advantage.
This one or two moves are cheatting and it will not get caught. So ironic
hikaru youre so cool youre the reason that i played chess❤❤❤❤
Blurring out the name and calling it out is baller
Looks like normal play. No cheater would be my verdict. Fabiano made white game very easy to play.
the beginning sounds like ur mining in minecraft idk why
F5 isnt hard to find? Tryna open up the f file cuz blacks king is stuck on it. D5 isnt hard to find either. Blacks queen is lined up with king.
The computer's move doesn't look hard to find after you see it.

Is it just me, or does the song at the beginning of Hikaru’s videos sound a little like “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin?
Does Hikaru sometimes and a little bit… sound like Alan(Jon Cryer) from two and a half men
What was the name of the suspected cheater?

Well im 2100 online rated, no title , but all of his moves were honestly Logical and i would definitely think about ,, i dont think he is a cheater
Do you ever stream any other games? I love chess but I think it would be very entertaining watching you play other games as well!
Nah there are no games besides chess here
he has played minesweeper in the past too, he very good at it, you can search here in youtube "hikaru minesweeper"
I think he played Valorant multiple times but idk if he streams it regularly
The name reveals on transition change multiple times. Why blur it if you aren't blurring it
isnt this like 2 year old drama
i am not a super gm, but this game aside from f4 did nto look to sus to me.
and him not finding best moves on 5s time pretty much pre moving everything is also not an indicator
Honestly doesn't look suspicious to me, but what do I know
Why blureing the "Cheater "???
What’s the point of blurring the account when you just say his full name?
Hikaru doesnt edit his videos, his editor does all the work.
The editor doesn't edit the videos Hikaru does all the work
@@rewrittenperspective547The editor doesn't edit Hikarus videos, Jesus does.
I’m a patser, but this looks legit to me. I didn’t like most of Fabi’s moves when he was already under pressure and using the pawns to expose the king seems quite logical.
I would even go that if this level of play is not achievable as an FM, then what are we even doing..
Still a huge fan of fabi though, and what do I know after all.
Unless you are a titled player yourself you shouldn’t have a say in it.
The moves was so obvious I could found some of them he 8s not just a random player he is FM
And fabi was careless
And his account on lichess is also banned…
Maybe he didn’t cheat it was not too difficult to play like this f4 , f5 was logical and Fabiano played not very good imo
Well I mean Levy beat Hikaru so…
Gm got schooled by fm, ooo lets call him out and blame for cheating
dunno the game doesn't look suspicious at all to me
Hikaru analysing a cheater game is much better than a specific IM doing it.
why did you blur out his name then say his name out loud and not censor it
Caruana didn't make serious proplems for the other player
And the 20 moves were very opvious so that 2400 can find it
It was easy game even for me 2200. Because caruana didn't play well at all
If that's the correct game it really doesn't seem too credible as cheating. Lots of fast moves mixed in with some slower thinking, nothing like the "consistent 5-6 seconds" fabi was claiming. Hikaru didn't seem to jump on any of the moves in particular as being super strange either. Seems more likely a good game by the FM who then got nervous and blundered in time trouble 🤷♂️
Top engine move for 20 moves could just be prep for one specific line or opening.
prep works if your opponents plays the moves you predicted as an encounter for your moves but I don't fabi will fall into a 20 move trap
Also if it's prep you would normally move a bit quicker, especially in a short time control
@@socute9248 yeah
@@mdzaidshaikh1863 Actually, it is more of a chance that prep line will be followed deeply with strong opponent, than it is with a weak one
