@@l1nc6525 not quite, the upstairs sounders are conventional and only receive an on off signal so they switch straight on, the apollo sounders all sync together so when they recieve the command from the panel to go off theres a slight delay so that they all sync together, this is also why the apollo sounders 'tone hold'
I actually have memories of this detector system because it was in my ex dad's house but i Don't think he had the strobe one in his house but it used to go off a lot and my ex dad was nasty to me, my older sister and my mum so being in his house was bad enough as it was
@@oliverisawesome1290late to reply, but it appears this system is still intact to this day. Only difference is that the flooring in the house is different and the house is most likely not covered in cables
one of the sounder circuits from the fire panel feeds a 24v contactor on each floor. The switch input on the emergency lights is wired via the contactor so that when the alarm triggers, the light turns on.
You could get either an alarmsense sounder base (sounds kinda similar) or a ctec activ sounder base (which has this as a tone on it). I'd recommend the ctec one as it has many different tones
2:30 it's nice the way all the conventional sounders stop and the apollo sounders tone hold
The XP95 sounder bases sometimes just act like a conventional sounder and do not hold
Brings back my old school memories, the fact that we would go mental when we heard that thing.
Me too
I love it when it goes off!
1:47 Who else noticed that the upstairs sounder went off before the basement?
I didn't at first but i think it did because its conventional
It's because the panel reached the upstairs alarm first, setting it off first

Nice video. Is this system still functioning as it should or is it gone already?
This video was made almost 10 years ago so this system is probably long gone now

flamesecure uk Is the sounder base conventional
No it's addressable
The cranford vector in his kitchen (I believe it’s his kitchen from his other video) is conventional though.
