The anime said when he fired his bow he concentrated so hard he scattered his own soul into the arrow and target... essentially killing himself and then reconstructing himself even stronger each time he did so.
He just zenkai boost himself over and over.
The funny thing is there's no limit to how strong he can get using this method.........he can also fire arrows like a machine gun lol.
The only reason he stoped is in consideration for his girls lol.

@@eisenklad He basically borrowed Tomoe’s spatial and mind abilities(or maybe just space) and the moment that clashed with his affinities, the blessing from Tsukuyomi, and the brutal ammount of mana it immediately became a world(the blessing being the core since it seems to create a authority field in which all powers capable of being performed by any beings in the field can be used by all(and that may include mana particles as well or his healing is just using the mana affinity of the other creature) so basically Tomoe just had the missing ingredients.
I feel like you're not giving enough credit to the work he put into studying theoretical mana applications to make that happen.

Tsukimichi is currently one of my most favourite Isekai because its absolute not all about some OP Protagonist. Infact the whole show is not really that Action focussed which i really like. Its more about Politics and World Building. Dont get me wrong i really like some really Hardcore Power Fantasy Over the Top Action. But Action after Action after Action really tires me. Thats why i love Slime Isekai or Mushoku Tensei that much.
Tsukimichi is about MC finding the right path to move forward to beat goddess and return home with his asora family while avoiding bad end when he fall to vengeance path and losing everything
It's not just him want to beat goddess and done
Even after verbal conflict with Hibiki he find out beating goddess alone itself will also directly turn the human world into chaos and warring era, soo makoto was tasked to think how to find perfect solution to finish his revenge without collateral damage
I like the slow burn. the lore, and all the talking they do. The action scenes are just a bonus.
That's why I love those three you mentioned.
@@rafaelperalta1676 the action himself should be minimum since we know MC is strongest being in surface world so no one probably willing to fight him except some circumstances (root with force call from governor sceptre, aznoval who need to wound him to relief some grieves on PRG party side) but there also some idiot who doesn't know makoto true strength like Sofia, samal and also the arrogant one like alte Barret
So it's make sense if the story is all about moral compass, idealism conflict and characters development
Because this novel is not about power scaling conflict series
this anime also has a lot of lovable characters
This is why i also lean more towards those shows it just irks me that the authors struggle to write proper statecraft and politics hell they barley even manage to write some decent economics and medieval markets they just shrug and let the MC be OP in their success there as well.
Could you imagine if they took the economics understanding of the Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami manga and mixed that with the social politics and understandings of log horizon and put that together with something like Tuskimichi. . . That would actually reach the level of a proper fantasy novel in terms of world building while also being a nice OP story. . . Man it has been so long since i read real quality writing in a manga.
The story told it interesting. Makoto had a special ability, but he didn't like it, abandoned it and forged one that he liked (his archery, his 100% accurate archery). Making his own special ability is absurd.
Makoto also has a meditation technique that expands his ability to hold mana, and because he did it religiously his mana capacity is absurd ... he had to be told to stop it before he gathered the wrong attention.
His absurd mana capacity also helps his immunity to curse type magic. Consider said magic to be dye, and Makoto's mana to be a lake. How many now imagine the normal curse power is a drop of dye. Drops won't do much, while Gallons can ... it would take many thousands of people working in concert for a curse to affect him.
And the whole part of the story is how people and other being(origin world gods) help him to make him be able to beat goddess yet at the same times want his morality and insanity remain human(in surface) so he can avoid the fate when he losing everything and dragged into path of vengeance

@@abdulcholik7789 I perceived it as that while he had help from others at the request of his parents, the mere fact that he is a hyuman living in the human world is a massive strain on his young body, his parents could survive fine but he couldn't.
The mere fact he did, even with the help is a huge thing, pointing to his sheer willpower.
There's a huge line between the hero humans who descend into that world and the hyumans derived from them that live in it. All the humans that arrive there are demigods in the making and Makoto arrived with the same level of ability they had plus some extra of his own thanks to all that surviving and cultivating his archery skills.
It was stressed heavily that his parents earned the right to move between their world and the world of heroes after doing something, I can't remember if it was ever brought up what his parents did but it was apparently heroic enough for them to go to the source of humans and live there then birth a hyuman child there.
Makoto being God-Tier is kind of the point.
He destroys and recreates himself
He has an ability to know about anything that exists within the reach of his Kai...which is growing.
He creates his own realm in a different dimension, again...one that is growing I might add. (This alone would qualify him as a god)
His goal is to become transdimensional, which...together with teleporting...would make him essentially omnipresent.
I really watch the anime more like superman. Can he stay good? Or is he going to get fed up with the stupid hyumans.
it was not him that created asora, asora came about, due to his rejected "gift/talent" being sacrificed when he made the contract with Shen, (the talent that he rejected, before choosing to form his own talent of archery always hitting)

btw later in the Novel he meets some other gods from earth who come to visit him in his world and they tell him that "Bug" is only a Manager-Class God and not a Creator-Class like Makoto which is a freakingly rare type of god
Taking only his Manalevel he could already wipe the Floor with bug at this point just that without his own divinity he lacks methods to effectiively use it

moonlit fantasy has been a long time favorite isekai anime and I've asked so many of my friends who enjoy isekai if they know it and to my surprise, very few have actually heard of it which just shocked me because #1 great story #2 great character development #3 fun to watch a character whos already strong get stronger in such a unique way compared to other isekai because normally they'd just get stronger physically or with mana caster stronger magic spells but in this its mostly just basic magic that's on par with gods and all sorts of special ways of using it that he invents and i love it

The reason why I find it boring sometimes is the fact that he is SO broken, has SO many opportunities to fight, SO many fights where they need Makoto, yet he barely, if not, never fights. The entirety of season 2 imo is just talking, while the only fights that happen are between the weakest characters. Another annoying part is how Makoto wiped the floor with the strongest warrior when she ambushed him the first time, but when it happened again, he ALMOST DIED??? Oh, and the fact that Makoto created a lake on the battlefield in the first fight, and when Tomoe was trying to figure out where it came from, he just forgot that it was him who created the lake??? And for your third reason, it's useless for him to get stronger when he doesn't even fight, or only fights against weaker opponents. I liked it at first, but it's just not my cup of tea

This series is different, it's clear that's makoto only want to fight goddess, he doesn't care with world at all, as long as no one touch people he deared, and season 2 rosgard ark itself its just set up for upcoming multiple ark latter
Novel reader know this ark is boring part of this series soo they didn't complain unlike tensure meeting scene
First, he's a demi god starting out. When his subordinates freak out about him looking like hes dying. That's when he's reached that of a low-level god. Around the time we meet root, he can rival the goddess in power but doesn't have the experience with his power to do so.

One major weakness of makoto is himself. He a naive person
What's neat is thag he has 3 attendants to perfectly balance him out. Mio is practically a sadistic being who wouldn't even flinch hurting or eating anyoneUnrelated to Makoto. Tomoe is a master schemer and manipulator who can plot behind the scenes to further hers and Makoto's interest, while Shiki represents practically cold logic and inteligence, and probably the smartest person in his arsenal. None of them are push overs too. Mio is a Walking Nuke, Tomoe is practically an Eldritch Being capable of Memory manipulation and Space manipulation, while shiki is a litch who probably knew all magic in existence while also being perfectly versed with Human politics and customs, and each every of them are absolutely Loyal to a thee to Makoto.

his archery is too broken to the point it will hit the target no matter what, if makoto tageted someone and another people try to block it with his body it's like 1(makoto), 2 another people(block the attack), 3 target, his arrow will be hit the target without hurt people who manage to block it, that's terrifying.
and don't forget that makoto arrow even able to reach his target even to a place that has no time, and this proved when he fight samal.
It only acts that way when he audibly incants it to do so, the anime does a good job of this when he fires his mana bow, he says audibly "This arrow will not miss its target." which is a directive to the mana that it will track down the target no matter what.

In the WB the Goddess Apostle teleported to a far place but because Makoto lock in her Presence when he shot the arrow dissappear and just punctured the Apostle turning her into porcupine made of arrow and she have the goddess blessing of immortality like Tomoki have at full Moon but she still died and Makoto know when he killed someone as he have no idea where she is but he feels that she is not dead with that much arrow in her body but Makoto stop when he felt that he killed her

If not for his wind and healing magic being sealed/severed he would qualify as the god of magic, nkt just archery
He spent “nearly every day” doubling his power over the course of a year. Even if we are incredibly conservative and say he started at mountain level and only did that for 180 days (less than half a year), he'd still be multi-galaxy level because of exponential growth. Realistically, he’s far above universal after that timeskip.

Sakai is basically just spreading magic in an area, thinly at first, only allowing extended sensory perception within range. As he gets better with Sakai, the "layer gets thicker, denser" until it materializes (physical form of magic, the blob of magic armor), AND THEN into creation (the floating mecha arms made of even denser physical magic, with fixed form that's no longer a blob).

I think the main thing I like about this series is, it embraces all the lazy story building cheats, but instead puts way to much effort into each of them and makes there be a sensible and often interconnected reason for most things.

I would have given this man the most OP anime character of the year, if not for that MC in Chillin' w/ lvl 2, whose stats are infinity symbols
It is one of my favourite novels that I still follow to this day. The power of the MC is not the one I cared much about in this novel but it still managed to pique my interest. Like, he is an Archer, who doesn't like to fight and avoid conflict. His strong point is defence and he only interested in defence.
Sound like an interesting DnD character for a session but not an Isekai main protagonist.

@@nenmaster5218 Yeah he definitely wasn't as strong as the god or godess at the start, the story did put a bit of effort into explaining that as a child he was frail and sick all the time and that it only partially improved as he got into his teen years thanks to the visits of a 'mysterious' doctor.
All of which stems from him being hyuman (descended from humans) and he was living in the world of humans where heroes are summoned from into the world of the story.
So he starts off 'strong' for a hyuman, as in he survived harsh conditions so once back in his natural home habitat he was in peak form, and the friendly god of humans gave him the kai ability and we later learn Makoto had his own innate skill/ability.
He always had the potential to be as strong as the heroes summoned to that world but he had to train to get his strength into a state that he could really be 'god level'
In the anime atleast hes doubled is mana many times over. To concentrate so deeply his consciousness and very existence spreads over a wide distence, its as if he meditates and becomes one with existence itself.
Imo hes at the level of hundreds of gods.
Hes able to actualize any effects, matter and form he thinks, hit any target regardless of position, distence or state of being, understand any type of communication. Detect and pinpoint a target regardless of position, concealment or dimension relative to himself.
Infinite barrage of most max output element effects.
Makoto is firmly up there with the OP characters in fiction.
The guy only struggles to minimise his output to not outright annihilate everything.
Just a few of his rings he wears and a single arrow was enough to make a crater the size of which changed the landscape and is now i massive lake... that was before his current status.
Now he has the densest magical barrier in all of fiction

Tsukumichi moonlit fantasy, Reincarnated as a slime, Overlord, and mushoku tense make up my isekai Mount Rushmore. Eminence in shadow and re monster are my honorable mentions.
Eminence always feels like a parody meant to just be fun for the sake of it so it gets a good honorable mention from me.
Jokes that are self aware and still have taste are honestly too good not to praise.
Konosuba for the comedy. Tanya the Evil just cause it's awesome. Though Konosuba anime has missed some choice chapters from the LN that did character building and I prefer the Manga version of Tanya's characters over the anime. Nailed the voices though. Recommend Isekai Quartet.

I want to try to argue a rock, paper, scissors level of overpoweredness between Makoto, Rimuru, and a third, but I am having a hard time thinking of the third.
To start with, Makoto is overwhelming magic power, contributing much to his durability while Rimuru has overwhelming knowledge and the ability to take and send whatever Makoto throws his way, which is why I would argue Rimuru is stronger than Makoto. (Great Sage/Raphael is just too broken after _____ happens)
As for who would be able to defeat Rimuru but lose to Makoto, its a difficult thing to figure out.
Ainz from Overlord isn't at the level of world creator/destroyer but if his ace ability goes through then any and every opponent dies when the clock strikes 0, Saitama from One Punchman is too ridiculous to properly gauge, Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling would be an interesting choice as his power is arguably in a higher realm but unlikely to surpass Rimuru at his pinnacle.
Best bet would likely be Anos Voldigoad from Misfit of Demon King Academy. His power is powerful enough while being just unique enough to kill Rimuru while Raphael is having a difficult time figuring out what he's doing, so if he goes all out he might win while also being just weak enough when compared to Makoto's multiple layers of defenses and his ever expanding ocean of mana.
Now I havnt read ahead but what I dont understand is everyone says he rivals the Gods but if a god can so easily and casually just give these abilities to him, then wouldn't that imply they're holding back even greater power?
Now the question is will he make contracts with the other dragon to add to his power. For other creatures like the spider of destruction.
a serious question here. . If, for some unknown reason, Makoto and Rimuru from TENSURA were to have a 1:1 fight. . . Who would win? Both are god level protags with similar sets of abilities when the rubber hits the road. I root for Rimuru, but I'm not sure who would win.

Misumi's power is supposed to rival a God because he may be intended as replacement for the current goddess. Makoto knows he is going to have a show down with the Goddess at some point, but he has not yet found a reason to be the replacement AFTER the goddess is defeated. Hibiki doesn't like the Goddess but is forced to work around her. While she has come to know how dangerous Makoto is at close range (The Goddess Apostle becoming a hedgehog in front of her), Makoto has yet to commit, giving Hibiki no choice.
Well no, he does not match in capacity with the goddess on mana levels until a bit after the demi plane rivalry stuff beginds, but he is way up there from the get go.
The problem I have with him and others like him, is that he supposedly has all these powers and abilities and then kind of forgets how to use them or that he even has them.

He’s overpowered, sure. But in the helm of overpowered light novel protagonists he’s actually not that far from the lower end.
that depends how you power rank gods from different series and mythologies, the novel is far from the end, and atm he is at minor god lvl of power, but only able to pull off in an actual fight, higher than, but lower than minor god, lvl of strength.
His silver hands, are absurd in it's own right, as they hold the power of creation itself. And there are very few creation gods in universe.
So depending on how you are ranking tiers of power from fiction to fiction, it varies a LOT.
If we go by xianxia power scaling, makoto would be at least at the 7th stage, looking at the 8th stage of cultivation, where beyond the 9th stage, is when you truly transcend the material plain.
To put it in to perspective, Azetoth of the lovecraft mythos, that is both the dreamer/creation god of the entire universe, would be equated to xianxia's bearer of heavens will, aka beyond a immortal transcended.
If you look at high powered xianxia, when you transcend the universe, you are now at the lvl of the vast expanse (equate this as milky way galaxy being our universe, and you can now freely be omnipotent within it, but can now work towards transcending our local super cluster of galaxies).
At that lvl, the birds from the xeelee sequence becomes minor comic relief character pets...
So it is highly dependant on HOW you measure differing fictions in power lvl. Wich is why I like to use the high fantasy xianxia to measure everything else up against, as it is the highest power lvl in all of fiction. To use dragon ball as an example, dragon ball, is xianxia, but it's on the lowers power lvl in relation to the rest of the genre

It was explained that magic and poison from people are like putting drops into the ocean for his build. Immune to pretty much anything. Not sure what magic physics Ainz grasp heart uses but I doubt the magic would be able to reach the heart.
Different rules. In Tsukimichi to affect the target you need to be able to taint their mana to have your effect apply. Hence why he is immune to all magic effects as tring to change the ocean's salt levels the same way you would do to a bathtub is not viable.

Very well written up and researched. I do believe you missed one small thing, though, and it's only small because it was only touched on very briefly and more or less swept under the rug. That is his regeneration. (What?! I know.) No person has acknowledged healing that re grows limbs. (Outside the MC who is an anomaly.) Yet when he loses 2 fingers to the Dragon Slayer, he passes out from exhaustion after his "harassment" of Sophia and Lancer. Due to his fields and interference, Mio, Tomoe, and Emma have a hard time healing him. Yet he wakes up with all his fingers. Let that sink in. Now rewind the scene to when the greedy hyuman blows up the demi-plane. He sees her memories, a manifestation of Tomoe's power transferred through contract. The ensuing argument between Tomoe and Mio. Mio to Tomoe's gloating - "I'm sure if the young master was in danger or seriously injured, he would use my power to heal himself." Now I was direct as possible here, but it varies from WN to anime and maybe manga. But the end result is pretty much the same. "We did everything we can" - everyone. Makoto - "Hold my banana shake." (Funny, he hates banana.) So even if someone miraculously gets through, they have to contend with another unknown X-Factor. These powers get stronger and more pronounced as he deepens bonds and trust with his followers. Ex. Demi-plane grows with MP + connection with Tomoe. Now, let's put that into concept. Mio, Shiki, X number of unintroduced followers. Think in terms of gains unknown spoilers from here.
One follower goddess class, gifted by the gods. In this same part. Makoto goes head to head with Athena. Gives her a run for her money, only losing in experience. When out of mortal sight, she all but collapsed from pain and exhaustion. Let that sink in, Athena is a goddess of wisdom and battle. Ok, my rant has gone on, too long. I think I've made a compelling enough case. There is so much more to come from MC. Hope this series keeps going!

Please enlighten me. Were as I remember the initial regrowth of Mio's limbs in spider form. I'm fairly certain this is not an achievable thing through normal magical means (whether this is due to average level or knowledge IDK). Which is the basis of my statement. I do, however, remember them (Tomoe, Mio, and Emma) lamenting not being able to help the lost digits (WN only, I believe however it looked like they weren't fixed after healing but there when he woke up.). It is also established that Makoto can't self heal with magic or Kai. This leads to my hypothesis that regen was the only way. To top that off, it would also be subconsciously activated. Subconscious activation so far has been a precursor to knowledge he had the skill to begin with. That said, no one broached this topic with him, so he thinks it was due to healing magic. Once again degression, the point is that no soldier limbs have been restored, and the loss of limbs was put out as an adventurer retiring injury. They skipped most of this content in the anime, but that's a bit expected it would extend the explanation that slows down the forward movement. I have not read the WN in a few years. I will also be rereading anyway because I'm sure this season will end on a cliffhanger with much unresolved. 2 more years will be torture if I don't reread. Well, it is a moot point since most are flatly incapable of hurting him, but keep it in mind, we will see where it goes if anywhere. It may be a "hidden" point that is akin to foreshadowing that the novelist isn't ready to spill the beans on. Again, sorry to be long in the tooth. I just don't have many people around to geek out about this show/book with.

Makoto got massive amount of mana, but as of yet he got a sea of power but just a cup to take some out at a moment which why his mana armor is needed as can turn it into useable power for a huge attack.
