  • My video editor sucks for this kind of thing. My computer is even worse. I am not a television personality type or a skilled commentator. It's the information I am trying to get across. This is a great hobby. I have all kinds of drones and I enjoy flying them all. This is not a bad drone for the price. Of course it has no stabilized gimble so the video will always be shaky, but this drone could still be very useful around the property and just for fun. You will not get $800 video quality out of a $150 drone. The key to make it as good as possible is to fly slow. Fly straight. When do are planning a turn stop the camera until you get focused on a new point of interest. This was the first GPS drone I ever flew and within a few months I had whole room full of drones. I bought everything from little toys to upper end Mavics. And I took and passed the Part 107 FAA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle licensing exam. I don't know what I am going to do with that license, but I got it anyway. This is a great drone to start with.

      I don't know about that man. DJI is coming out with a Mavic Mini SE. It's basically the Mavic Mini version 1 which is a fantastic drone for the money. It's going to retail for $299 and it's 20 times better than anything Holy Stone has to offer at any price. You can take a look at my playlist for Mavic Mini footage and I just fly mostly for entertainment so I am not even trying.

    When I switch off beginner mode and try to save new settings, it just keeps perpetually saving.

      Yeah that's s setting they need to let you change one time and be done with it, because those drones often lose connection with the app and if you cannot access the app you cannot unlock beginner mode.

    Do you have to do this everytime you turn it on?

    • @Nine_883
      @Nine_883  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah. You should. Sometimes you can get away with not calibrating the compass, but with these cheap drones it's best to do all of the steps or risk a fly away.

    I dumpster fire of a drone for the price I've never seen a bigger rip off If a drone is over 150$ and doesn't have brushless motors then it shouldn't even be considered. What I don't understand is they sold this one for morei than the hs720 definite cash grab not holy stones greatest moment. BTW u can jus spin the drone rather than yer body but informative solid video I seen one of them for like 50$ on a used site and I'm still not gunna buy it.

      That was 2-1/2 years ago son. That drone is long gone. I had a remote control in my had so I couldn't just turn the drone with one hand. The way I was showing people works fine. It worked in the video did it not? This was really just a video to prove that it worked and a reference for anyone who might have bought it. I do not have a customer support line. That video was all they were getting out of me. I got too many messages from guys who wanted to come over and "test Fly" the drone to prove it worked. I didn't have a lot of time for that so I made a video and sent "wannabe test flyers" a link. I sold it for $60. The chips alone in the drone are worth $50 now. I had a lot of drones by that point and I was cleaning house.
      Budget drones are a starting point. They are a waste of money if you pay too much for one, but once you have mastered is a piece of crap like that Mavics and more sophisticated drones are a piece of cake. These crappy drones are some of the most difficult to operate because they constantly lose connection with the app and people panic. A drone like this will not return to home on an app connection loss. That doesn't trigger a failsafe. If you just left it sit in the air long enough theoretically it would return to home when the battery got low or if you flew out too far and lost your RX connection with the receiver and the radio. Losing the WIFI to your phone doen't trigger a failsafe return to home.
