This game really makes you think in 4D, an Arithmetical Hell and Minimalistic Heaven. Enjoyed The game as a kid, a still remembering it, trully The most beautiful game ever made. I also like how area music continues to play even if you are back from bonus or hidden stages. Trully Majestic.
I hadn't noticed this " area music continues to play even if you are back from bonus or hidden stages" . Now that you mentioned it i agree. Little detail but awesome
Incredible how it was simply "here's a demo disc" and it would be chok full of masterpieces. I played the Ridge Racer demo to death before finally getting the game.
Myself and my 5 year old son just started playing this game. I last played it in the late 90s on my PS1, what a fantastic game. Your skills are mighty impressive!! Very well done
It's not skills, it's a Tool Assisted Speedrun, where a player plays the game on an emulator with savestates, frame advance and slowdown in order to craft the fastest run possible
That was the game of my childhood. I'm impressed, I cannot imagine such precision in using objects boundaries and avoiding collisions between objects. 😍
Really bums me out that this game is so obscure. It lends itself so well to speedrunning. If GDQ had two runners racing each other in Roll Away, it would put this game back on the map (or on the map for the first time).
I just got a random hair up my ass to look up this game which I found it by typing in PS1 ball game and it actually worked. Has a kid I could only ever get to the 2nd area with the level with the blocks floating independent of each other covered in heat pads, and at least now I can know what the levels afterwards looked like thanks to this video. Guess that's a twenty-year question answered. Also I realized just how much of this game is trial and error with you having no real way other than guessing or vague visual cues to navigate, but that was most puzzle games back then or games in general
This game was on a demo disc I had from 98 and was always my favourite, never did get to Play it completely, Sub for just hitting the heart with this one.
From another comment the video creator made: "I defined 100% as of : Every level that exists must be completed with the "Well done" message. But yes I guess everyone can define his own 100%." Uh..yeah...I think most people would argue that's not considered 100%. At all. 100% would definitely mean at least getting all the collectables, like the coins and gems for starters...
one of my first video games. very trippy and visually pleasing. the sound design is especially satisfying.this game would be very useful for cognitive therapy. you have to constantly exercise your basic understanding of geometry and depth perception.
what a fantastic game with fantastic sound design. (the sound of ball bounce or fruit being eaten!!! ) Its a shame i am too dumb to actually finish the game :)
the game has something more than most similar to you because you always have to find yourself in a given situation based on memory, orientation, speed and skill.mars
Nice, I like that you included a level overview at 0:23 It's a cool game, but it's insanely difficult and it should have dropped the timer and lives. I never made it past level 50 and then you always had to re-play levels 46, 47, 48 etc.
Mai napig jatszanam, ha nem halt volna meg a ps em. Apukammal jatszottunk ketten, o vitte, en neztem. Ugy szerettem meg. Aztan mikor nagyobb lettem mar en vittem. En a zeneket szerettem benne. Udv Magyarorszagrol. Greetings from hungaria :*
Neither. It always shows the next level in the save room. When you end level 15 and save, it will show "level 16". At the end of the game, it should show "level 151 / fruits 150", if there wasnt this "bug" with an extra fruit. (also note that the 9th and 10th hidden arent accessible on Kula World (EU), only the 9th hidden isnt accessible in Roll Away (USA), and that it was only fixed on the JAP version, Kula Quest)
Crazy_Kitty Thank you for your comment - but this is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS) - which means I didnt "physicaly" play the game, but instead I coded a few programs that would make a perfect run :).
For a very unknown reason, there is an extra fruit in the 9th hidden level. So the last bonus is played after level 149 instead of 150. As you can see on the end-screen, 151 fruits were collected after 150 levels.
+filsekfil Well I defined 100% as of : Every level that exists must be completed with the "Well done" message. But yes I guess everyone can define his own 100%.
AVideoGameStory ahh :) it's really really nice run I thought u were tryng to do a speed run with the main levels but when I noticed u do bonus and secret levels and at the last one you were dancing and jumping in circle I knew u weren't doing it for the time but for 100% :D really nice run I liked how you exploited the ''placement'' glitch when you dont land in the middle of the box but at the edge :) especially how u dodged the jumping pill
I believe the highest score possible is 2,649,680. This is every item collected, as well as waiting for the level's timer to reach 1 second left before collecting each hourglass item.
It's a tool assisted speedrun, so it may seem glitchy at certain places. But the normal game won't do that, unless using some TAS software or an emulator.

Yep, one of my favorites :)
Yeah, it's like the ball says "can you hold the music for a second, I've got a bonus level to clear" and then "okay I'm back, roll the music"
Its kinda like Tetris. Simple but highly addictive with a genius design to it. And i guess the PS1 sound effects also gave it a charm!
Thumbs up if you only played the demo version
le bilk that demo disc in a red sleeve. It also had Crash 3, Spyro the dragon and Tekken 3 demos
indeed i remenber this thing for demo version
Incredible how it was simply "here's a demo disc" and it would be chok full of masterpieces. I played the Ridge Racer demo to death before finally getting the game.
This is sad guys.... This game is one of the best puzzle games ever created
The good old question on my.little childs mind "why is this game so short?"
This game stressed me out, but I always ended up playing again
I Really Miss The 90s So Much.
Greetings From Germany.
Guten Abend :D
I’m so glad there are people in this comment section that remember this masterpiece of a forgotten game
I still come back from time to time to watch this masterpiece, really great stuff
man, at this point I should just play the game myself
Myself and my 5 year old son just started playing this game. I last played it in the late 90s on my PS1, what a fantastic game. Your skills are mighty impressive!! Very well done

Thank you for this!!! Awww my childhood wrapped in one....along with anger issues 😪
не ожидал, что можно так шустро играть. Респект и уважуха)
This is so nostalgic! Used to play this with a friend when we were young. The TAS makes it look so easy!
Really bums me out that this game is so obscure. It lends itself so well to speedrunning. If GDQ had two runners racing each other in Roll Away, it would put this game back on the map (or on the map for the first time).
I hear you this game needs a remaster such a simple jet brilliant concept

This just blew a hole in my reality.
Wow I'm old...! This game is 20 years old!
I know right? I miss those early saturday mornings
From another comment the video creator made: "I defined 100% as of : Every level that exists must be completed with the "Well done" message. But yes I guess everyone can define his own 100%."
Uh..yeah...I think most people would argue that's not considered 100%. At all. 100% would definitely mean at least getting all the collectables, like the coins and gems for starters...
But if you actually played the game, you would know this is not possible (except maybe for the Japanese version).
Fear of heights is not a good thing to have when playing this game, or watching it, but this is still an excellent vid thanks for the nostalgia
Yes, it makes my head spin. Major headaches.
I have this game on a burned CD-R. One of my favourites next to Ape Escape and LittleBigPlanet.
I know its a TAS but its still hilarious how ridiculously perfect everything goes in every level xD
He used save states
What is TAS?
I was so scared of the pill effect when i was little
Same. Lol. I play this on Retroarch and ePSXe. Its fun.
one of my first video games. very trippy and visually pleasing. the sound design is especially satisfying.this game would be very useful for cognitive therapy. you have to constantly exercise your basic understanding of geometry and depth perception.
Childhood memory. *Unlocked*
When i'm was 6 years old
Music is Awesome
Man they really need to put.up those old games on steam the cd version costs 50 bucks on ebay
This game second hand value is insane. Here in Sweden is cost at lest 70 euro.
wasn't it made in sweden?
what ever happened to the company that made it? did they make something else of note?
what a fantastic game with fantastic sound design. (the sound of ball bounce or fruit being eaten!!! ) Its a shame i am too dumb to actually finish the game :)
OH MY FUCKING GOD! SO NOSTALGIC
the game has something more than most similar to you because you always have to find yourself in a given situation based on memory, orientation, speed and skill.mars
This game was developed on acid, you can't explain it otherwise.
Nice, I like that you included a level overview at 0:23 It's a cool game, but it's insanely difficult and it should have dropped the timer and lives. I never made it past level 50 and then you always had to re-play levels 46, 47, 48 etc.
It's the music for me. What a fucking childhood dude.
The music of this game is incredible !! GG
This needs to be on PS Plus Premium
LOVE this game!!! Please make it available on Nintendo switch 😍❤️
Wow that's impressive 💕
ball is love ball is life
That game makes me to play kula world
Kula World was such an awesome game!
Mai napig jatszanam, ha nem halt volna meg a ps em. Apukammal jatszottunk ketten, o vitte, en neztem. Ugy szerettem meg. Aztan mikor nagyobb lettem mar en vittem.

Imagine the recording failed..Glad you did it!!
As the game would say, very well done! Did you also record The Final?
this game needs a remaster
It has a remake on the PS4/PS5 called Gravity Trickster! Fantastic game.
Thank you! No I didnt record The Final yet - I'll probably do it but not in the near future though.
GG on learning such a hard paterns. Amazing.
What was TAS about this run ?
How can you play this fast?! Do you have all the moves memorised in your head?!
EDIT: OK, now I know what TAS is (tool-assisted speedrun).
Wow. As kid i was 4 levels from the win
Im.impressed by my youngself
Great!!
One of the best game ever
Damn I miss this game so much!
X___X my childhood infront of me !! AAAHHH !!
Haha me too
Just tell me.. how many times have you finished it?
so great, thank you
How many times did this guy have to play this in order to be able to make a speedrun like that I wonder?
It's a TAS ( tool assisted speedrun )
This is the hardest game ever made.
It's not that hard.
LukeInside nut for your genius sure not troll
L.Y. ris Completed it without any problems to be honest. Now it's time for the Final Mode. Game is good but not that great IMO.
idgaf about opinions of TROLLS
L.Y. ris You can't be serious. If you see this game as hard then don't try NES console titles. They will whoop yer ass.
great job is there have any other game like this?
I assume those Marble Levels are secret exit's, right?
+Prince Jamie The 7th I dont know if these are marble blocks; but the hidden levels are the one in the space (black background with white dots).
TAS is the most amazing player ever, he's good in erry game
You are a god
Noob yes with glitchess cheats
@siaiqkg8763 you sound upset.
Using TAS isn't a cheat, it's for entertainment purposes - it's interesting.
Amazing gameplay❤
I didn't remember that world 9 had 16 levels instead of 15, curious.
It does not. It has an extra fruit though, found in the hidden level.
Yet the game counts them as 151 levels 1:02:35. It would seem that levels are strictly related to fruits.
Neither. It always shows the next level in the save room. When you end level 15 and save, it will show "level 16". At the end of the game, it should show "level 151 / fruits 150", if there wasnt this "bug" with an extra fruit. Ah you're right cause level 151 actually exists and is part of the final levels.
When games had soul.
MASTEEEERR!
Wow you are good in this game. How long did you practice to get this nice run?
Crazy_Kitty Thank you for your comment - but this is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS) - which means I didnt "physicaly" play the game, but instead I coded a few programs that would make a perfect run :).
AVideoGameStory Ah ok. I like it. Nice game from my childhood. :-)
Psygnosis, the original creator of Lemmings and this
And Team Buddies.
This game looks crazy hard!!!
This is only the base game, the post-game levels are probably the hardest puzzles I've ever played in a videogame by a long margin.
@@Haze4743wut??!! You mean this game has even harder levels after these??!!
@@zsascsforever4155 yeah, check Kula World: The Final to see some of the hardest puzzles in the game.
so i didn't really watch the whole thing, but shouldn't one end with bonus if you get all fruit?
For a very unknown reason, there is an extra fruit in the 9th hidden level. So the last bonus is played after level 149 instead of 150. As you can see on the end-screen, 151 fruits were collected after 150 levels.
Played the organ on PlayStation, it's called kula world
Why isn't this available on PSN!? The disc games going for £80. F that!
Dude how can you make jumps before even turning the camera?
Bruh. TAS means Tool Assisted superplay
Since when do beach balls need to eat fruit, or anything for that matter lol
wouldn't it be faster if you just failed hte bonus level ? or it would interrupt 100% ?
+filsekfil Glad you liked it :D
No wonder why this game was difficult. It was make by Swedes. The same people who came up with Ikea and its instructions
Bellissimo gioco ho speso ore e ore per completarlo e poi ancora è ancora........
What you use to record? Emulation?
+TheLegendaryGamer PSXJIN v0.2.0 SVN 619
56:44 - why didnt u collect the coins?
It's not a person, it's a TAS run that they coded to complete the game based on certain parameters.
TAS is Tool Assisted Speedrun.
I wonder what the World Record for points is with this game :D
I believe the highest score possible is 2,649,680. This is every item collected, as well as waiting for the level's timer to reach 1 second left before collecting each hourglass item.
RealRaptoRex than good!
Brilliant
Where are levels 151-170?
Ive played similar game back in the day wish i could remember the name of the game it was also ball and maze in sky like this one
Do you mean "Ballance" developed by Cyparade?
@@machr293 yes that one and one a bit older maybe around 2000
@@Bad888Max I do not, but Trials Evolution has a Skill Game like Balance, you should check it out.
so it's not a fever dream?
You forgot lotsa coins and diamonds
why is everything foggy
o.O... never a Lose?
Glitching at 2:36. So the NTSC version differs from the PAL version, l see.
It's a tool assisted speedrun, so it may seem glitchy at certain places. But the normal game won't do that, unless using some TAS software or an emulator.
I made it to the second to last rock typ as a kid never beat it though
This is nice and old, but.. it seems glitchy (e.g: 1:28) and upscaled with a filter.
I love this Gameboy but its HARD!!!
nice
mamma mia!!
HD remaster please
Just how..
very vomit inducing but fun
I hope computer is playing, not a person 😂
elég kula egy játék
how can I download it?? is there any way??
+Sabrina Saccone What do you want to download ? The game ? The video ? Or the pjm ?
+AVideoGameStory the game...I've always been obsessed with it
+Sabrina Saccone add my skype if you want; i am not going to write down a tutorial here. you can find it on my website alphawaves.eu.
how
This is super cool and all but by GOD do I HATE that sound effect when the player gets one of the fruits. IT IS SO DISGUSTING.
I think it sounds funny
That's my favourite sound. The munching is so cute. And i like the sound when it's SPIKED
Pinkie Pie Im very scared when I caught by the... RedBlueGreenYellow oh yes spiker and the spike lol
shut up Pinkie Pie. xD
looks like a bot playing it lol not human
Because it is a bot playing and not a human
