সিদ্ধার্থ শঙ্কর রায় যদি আজও বেঁচে থাকতেন তবে জানিনা উনি এখনও মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কে ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ বলতেন কিনা, মমতার integrity প্রশ্নাতীত বলতেন কিনা বা রাস্তায় চাকরির জন্য ছেলে মেয়েগুলো যেভাবে বসে আছে তাই দেখে মমতার মানুষের প্রতি ভালোবাসা আছে সেটাও বলতেন কিনা। অবশ্য উনি একটা কথা ঠিকই বলেছেন যে মমতাই বিজেপি কে বাংলায় আসার রাস্তা দেখিয়েছিল। জ্যোতি বসুও একই কথা বলতেন যে মমতার সবচেয়ে বড় অপরাধ হল বাংলায় বিজেপি কে নিয়ে আসা।

Having spent my formative years under his Chief Ministership, I saw him in action, be it crushing the Naxal movement or combating the CPM. But the thing that i struck me today, seeing him after so long, was the fact that he was an educated, erudite snd perfect gentleman. The interview that he gave and the questions that he answered were open and unbiased abd did not shy away . Can you expect our present CM to sit down and attend a similar Q and A session ? No way. She will never admit her mistakes and will probbly walk out when facing facing awakward questions or being in power will shut down the interviewer.
Nevertheless , this was a precious one , enriched us a lot.
