    Great vid, thanks. Catch a lot of Arrow Squid and Southern Calamari here in Tas. I also thread the cleaned tubes on to a SS skewer and hang them across a deep plastic bucket in the fridge for a few hours - lets the water drain off then I put them straight on a really hot charcoal grill.
    Love the old Alveys on the wall!

    Hello, Greetings from North Cyprus. Nice job and thanks a lot for the tips..Looks delicious. We cut into slices the squid as you showed and put them in a bowl by adding some baking soda, milk and sugar and knead about 5-10 mins. After 5-10 mins, they look like creamy and let them sit in the fridge at least 3 hours and fry them with all purpose flour or bread cumbs. It becomes tender and tastes nice..

    Hey, quick tip, I find it better to first pull the membrane out and then pull the guts and head out. Less chance of popping the ink sack. Otherwise great tutorial. I like the net you use. I lost two tigers the other night ... could not get them up and over the wall. How long does the net extend?

  • @ben-vf
    @ben-vf Před 4 lety +1

    The art is to not break the ink sack when you gut it. I've seen it done but I seem to always end up with the shit everywhere. I Really hate cleaning squid.

    Hi Wayne, is it possible to catch squid in and around the North Pine River? Especially deeper in around the pine river bridge near Murrumba Downs? Thanks

    • @Wayne.Groomes.Fishing
      @Wayne.Groomes.Fishing  Před 4 lety

      Wade Whitwell it’s always possible. I get small squid in the cast net in the pine. But it’s definitely better on the eastern shore line near redcliffe or manly. But only after we get some western winds and it cools a bit will they come on proper.

      Use cheap jigs until you become familiar with the water your fishing in. Fish the top of the tides. Use 8 lb leader and that may reduce the break offs in weed. Fish often.
