Exactly!! Though it seems to be a “no go” nowadays, I still keep coming back on those positions 2 and 4 on all my strats (that’s what starts are for)….❤

@@yaboyshelz I don’t think it is, but some guitarists (also in my surroundings) don’t like 2 and 4, because the Strat didn’t have that originally…

This happened to me yesterday. Amazing timing. I've achieved it with the pickup position you mention, Amplitube 5 and a Squier Affinity. I swapped the original pickups for active EMGs. Sounds unreal

I believe there are times you are subconsciously channeling your “inner” Mark Knopfler and I truly enjoy the sounds of that, Shane!
If I had a guitar with 2 humbuckers, I would still want a single coil middle pickup. It adds a lotta sweetness to the sound.

The 20 year old ceramics on my MIM strat recently started humming pretty bad, but the middle position is just dead silent, so I've been using only that position for months now and it really did grow onto me
Your right but know one would have known that if weren't for your kean ear and great clear playing to be getting out of that strat someone else might not have been able to get that sound out of that same strat comes down if you can play like knoplar or you can't and you surly can. GOOD VIDEO MY FRIEND.

So much of the classic Dire Straits tunes though were played live on a Schecter. The Alchemy concert is all Schecter.

It’s about the pickup combination which is middle and bridge for Dire Straits. Even on the Schecter Mark used bridge and middle
When isn't a Strat clean tone awesome?
Honestly I'm a humbucker kinda guy 'cause it fits the music I play but a strat for clean tones is hard to beat. I'm a fan of the in between positions which makes it a wide spaced humbucking pickup in a way, right?
Yet you always diss the neck/middle combo😂
Also, middle and bridge combo...
Aaand the middle sometimes!
I think nothing beats a Strat tone full stop. Just my opinion.

Sounds about average for a strat, to be honest.
Find me another one that sounds close to this good without using tricks in post production.
