I'm tired of people sayin Paxton is just a handsome guy. He is an amazing and protecttive brother, he became friends with Davi when no one would talk to her, he took her to the hospital after the whole coyote incident, he never told the truth about them not having sex even if he was hurt by her lies, he tells her he thinks she is cool just the way she is. He is a really great guy and we have seen this even without him having an episode all to himself like Ben did.
That's so dumb actually. Paxton is such a good guy. He always was there for devi, we also saw character development nd hope in 2s we'll get a whole episode about paxton so we can understand and know his story.

The reason I LOVE Paxton is despite his social standing and him barely knowing Devi, HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR HER. At that part when Devi fell in, Ben WALKED AWAY. He did shit like that several times through out the series, despite wanting to help.
Ben was embarrassed to be around Devi. In social situations he would up and run, but Paxton was always there.
I don't remember Ben walking away ever in the series when she needed help (he's slower), but I know that he was the one who was there for her when she needed help the most: getting her and her friends back together and helping her to spread her dad's ashes. As for Paxton, he straight up said he was embarrassed to be around her and he was hot and cold with her so many times. Overall, though, it should be team Devi and *self-love* :)
kaia right idk what they are talking lol they maybe got Paxton confused with Ben because Paxton was the one embarrassed and made devi lose herself and even be distant from her friends. Ben actually made her see that her and her moms relationship is important and took her to the beach
nia Paxton didn’t even KNOW for starters and he wasn’t embarrassed when Devi actually needed him. Besides Devi herself was the sole reason for distancing herself from friends, she couldn’t admit her faults and was too focused on what she thought she wanted. She didn’t appreciate them enough. Her realising that it was her fault was key in the series.
kaia the party when she fell into the pool, Ben just looked like he wanted to help but his gf just pulled him away. Not cool. He never even bothered to go near her and just watched while everyone else laughed.

I love Paxton and Devi and how they have this kind of awkward relationship that turns into more, but Ben and Devi have known eachother for so long and have had an amazing character development and I think that Ben always liked Devi but buried under his home situation. They both sympathize into one another. In all shows the girl always ends up with the perfect guy. And I really would be fine if she ends up with either of them but I would like to see both of their relationships in more detail, before making my final decision

I don't find paxton as bad.. Everyone assumes that he is a douche because of what he said to his sister but I feel that he said that because when davi's mum told him that he is not smart enough he felt belittled in a way and thought that they would not match because they are different but he kissed her and went to her house for a reason.. He never told about the lie that davi's told, he never made fun of her request, he treated her like a friend and wasn't ashamed of her even though she was 'not cool'

To me, it's always been clear that Paxton has been interested somewhat in Devi since the beginning and likes her a lot. not that anyone cares butttt I have to get out all my feelings about Devi and Paxton somehow or else I will go insane. so enjoy my list of reasons lol
-he says yes to her offer of having sex in the first place!!!! I feel like Devi seemed like such a creep when she went up to him and asked him randomly like that, plus she's known for not being "cool" and is made fun of, and he knew her as the girl in the wheelchair, yet he still agrees. I feel like to agree to that you either have to be desperate, which I don't see how he would be because he is made out to be this guy that can get any girl he wants, or intrigued by the offer in some way
-after their first failed attempt and her RUNNING away from him, he is still willing to try with her again!!!! like obviously he can sense that she's kind of weird, but he still is open to trying to have sex with her again
-after their second failed attempt where he thought she was being a complete weirdo for going into his house and talking to his sister and feeling offended by her actions, he could have easily just ghosted her and been like "ok this girl isn't worth all this trouble" and he doesn't have to talk to her or see her again. but instead he takes the time to go TO HER HOUSE and APOLOGIZES TO HER and offers to be friends with her??? and is still willing to be friends with her after her acting like a creep with him. Like I'm sorry but he must be interested in her somewhat if he's gonna remain friends with her after what she did. PLUS HOW HE LOOKED BACK AT HER WHEN SHE WAS WALKING AWAY
-while he only picked her to be in their group for the project because she's a good student, he actually did try to make an effort with the slogan, unlike Trent, and thanked her for doing the project (which is still admittedly douchey). BUT at the party, he was excited to see her and welcomed her in when Trent seemed like he didn't want her there, he rescued her from the coyote, took her to the hospital, and stayed with her to make sure she was ok!!!! he didn't just leave as soon as she got a room like he was there until her mom told him to leave. He followed her on instagram and posted a picture with her and said that he knows she's crazy, but is still friends with her and doesn't judge her for the way she acts
-when he sees her at school for Ganesh puja, he notices she's upset and walks away from his friends to ask her what's wrong. he accepts her culture, compliments her, and tells her she should just be herself
-after he finds out she was lying to people saying that they had had sex, he is rightfully upset, and doesn't talk to her. Again, he could easily just stop being friends with her or not think about her anymore because he could say that she isn't worth that trouble. but, he forgives her so easily at Rebecca's photo shoot, and compliments her while she's modeling!!! also his smile when she has to run back inside to give Rebecca back her clothes
-at the party and Devi's fight with Fabiola, he literally hears how Devi is obsessed with him, yet he doesn't care. when she falls into the pool, he rushes to help her when no one else does. and when she gets out of the pool you can see that he doesn't just leave her, like he stands with her while she recovers. also he's willing to lend her his clothes and leave the party just to take her home. you can see he's interested in her from the way he looks at her in the car, and then obviously HE KISSES HER FIRST. but before that, he didn't just drop her off and have her leave his car right away, he asked how she was doing because he saw the fight with her friends. he truly cares about her. AND THE SMIRK AFTER HE KISSES HER. AND HOW SMILEY HE WAS WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD SEE HER MONDAY.
-when Devi's mom takes her phone away because prashant is coming, he literally calls and texts her so much!!! like when he came over he said he's been trying to reach her for so long, so obviously he wanted to talk to her. he said he wanted to bring her dress over, but he could have easily brought it to school for her. He wanted an excuse to go over to her house and see her!!!
-he's cold to Devi after the kiss but I think it's pretty obvious that it's because he was hurt by what her mom said and couldn't handle it, I don't think that he would have ignored her after the kiss had her mom not been rude considering that he was going to talk to her about it
-his sister convinces him to give her a shot (yay Rebecca!!!) so he literally goes to her house AGAIN to talk to her right away, and leaves her a voicemail when in the fifth episode he says he never even uses or checks his voicemail
Anyways, thanks for anyone who read this long haha but basically I am super invested in Paxton and Devi and I really think he'd be good for her, he honestly seems to like her just as much as Ben does, he just has a harder time showing it

I am right there with you, girl!!! I feel 100% the same. It's Paxton. From day one! EVERYTHING you said, PLUS i think thier differences is what is going to make them a power couple... they pull each other out of thier comfort zones just the right amount... he forgives her easily, calms her without even knowing he does, and shows up, EVERY DAMN TIME. She pushes him, makes him work and helps him realize that there's more to him than even he realized. It's #teampaxton FROM GO.
BUT-- Season 3 (fingers crossed it happens) I feel like both of them, having doubts about themselves as a couple will cause problems.. especially with Ben still invested. I see one of 2 things happening.. Ben confronts Pax and makes him feel undeserving of Devi- like her mom did in S1- so he bows out bc he thinks thats whats best for her. And bc **trent and elenor** are now dating, Elenor sees how much this messes with Paxton and gives him advice and tells Devi how bummed he is without her.... ? Oooorrrrr-- Ben approaches Devi -- professes every thing he feels the need to profess.. asks Devi to choose him and Paxton hears/ walks upon the 2 of them in the middle of it... and boom heartbreak hotel. Devi dates neither but eventually ends up with PAXTON bc its meant to be 😍

So, a friend of mine brought up an interesting theory... Paxton orginally agrees to have sex with her *BECAUSE* Paxton is a virgin, too!?!?! He sees it as a way to get it over with or whatever before he does it with someone else. Thoughts?
And at the end of season 1, i think Rebecca reminds him about being excited about Devi... she says, " I thought you told me you kissed...." HE SPOKE TO HIS SISTER ABOUT A GIRL HE KISSED... mentioning it to anyone, especially Rebecca, says he was excited about it... he says himself "I have kissed alot of girls..." How many has he told his sister about??? So I dont think he's ever needed convincing... he needs to be encouraged to pursue something that was making him ... ? happy?... regardless of his doubts or hater comments from his circle (or her mom).

Here's the thing: Devi and Paxton's relationship was always pretty superficial. Devi only liked him for his looks, and Paxton never really liked her in that way. I feel like Paxton is nice to Devi because he just wants to be a good person. I don't think Paxton is a bad person, he just makes some bad mistakes. There wasn't any chemistry between Devi and Paxton, and, honestly, I think they'd have an amazing relationship as just friends. I can totally see it. Devi being just friends with Paxton will be a nice development from how she felt at the beginning of the show. Also, I think it would be good for Paxton to have a girl in his life(other than his sister) who isn't with him romantically. Paxton's friendship with Devi could help them both really develop as people.
Here's the other thing: Devi and Ben's relationship is real. They've always had a lot of chemistry while they were rivals, but neither of them could see it. They're also both very different and alike at the same time. They're both extremely intelligent and competitive, but on the other hand, Devi is way more impulsive than Ben. They just fit. You can see in the show that they slowly start to care for each other and realize they like each other. They understand each other on a more emotional level. Also, they'd be such a power couple. Devi+Ben=world domination.
Comparing Ben to Paxton, we can see that Devi liked Paxton for the idea of him, and she likes Ben for him. Also, Ben and Devi understand each other better than Devi and Paxton do. Paxton helped Devi after the coyote attack and falling into the pool, and Ben helped her when she ran away from home and when she had to go spread her dad's ashes. They both helped her, so we can't really use the argument that one helped her more than the other. But with everything else I said, I really hope that Devi and Paxton have an amazing platonic relationship and that Devi and Ben end up together!

I love how this show has two complex characters as her love interests. There isn’t a real “bad guy” here. Yeah sure, Paxton is kind of a douche for a little while, but we catch a glimpse of his insecurities and why he acts the way he acts too. Devi kissing Ben in the end does not feel like her realizing that he is her predestined soulmate and the only option was for them to end up together, but like a conscious choice as kissing someone should be. I like it.

I think you’re crazy. Her styling is perfect because it’s actually realistic. It might’ve been different at your school but when I was in high school, this was how it was. Mostly natural hair/minimal styling and makeup. Or it actually looks like the teenager did the styling and not a professional. This isn’t a Nickelodeon/Disney show and I think that’s what Mindy wanted. Was something a bit more authentic so that you can really connect with the character

Devi and Ben are good together. They have a long history, but I don't think they would be good like that. They have a history of hating each other and I think if they were meant to be they wouldn't have sent all those years hating each other. Paxton on the other hand would be good for her. Paxton and Devi could teach other things that the other didn't know. They just work. Paxton is there for her and never gave up on her. In my opinion I would chose Paxton. But Devi would be great with either guy.

Why do you say that? They treated each other like shit in the beginning, and Paxton was alway respectful with her. Their fight was because Devi lied about sleeping with him. The only bad thing he did towards her was saying that dumb shit to her sister, bc social constructs and expectations about high school and all of that, but he obviously struggles with that. Ben got better towards the end bc the friendship between Devi and him got better, but he was the one that actually insulted her and treated her badly (Devi treated him like shit too)
