    Angie I learned today to put contact paper on your felt before putting onto the pink fabric mat then stick that to the mat. This way the felt doesn't have to touch the mat at all! 😄

    I saw a tip that using baby wipes to clean the mats (not the fabric mat) works. When I tried this I was very pleased with the outcome. I just rubbed the baby wipe gently over the mat several times until I could see the debris coming off, and let it dry for a few minutes. My mats were cleaner and sticky again!

    Ooo what an ace idea re the fabric grip mat, I've never seen anyone suggest using transfer tape before 😍

    Thank you so much for the helpful information. Especially for the pink mat. I have been using baby wipes to clean my mats. Mainly the green and blue mats. It works really well. I haven't used the fabric mat yet. I'm very glad to have the information for when I do.

    I keep unused ones clean by sticking them to each other. It makes a nice portable work surface too.

    That's what I do to mines. You could tape around the mat and spray it light glue spray any brand but the light one.

    I haven't tried to wash my mats yet, so thank you for those tips!! But, I have used 2-Way Glue Jumbo Broad Tip Pen by Recollections™ (Michaels stores) to help my green mat become sticky again -- it worked pretty well and allowed me to use the mat for a much longer time!! Thought I'd pass that along to let others know...

    I have a friend that uses a little soapy water to clean them, then sprays them with spray adhesive. I tried it, it works very well.

    • @poodlebone
      @poodlebone Před 5 lety +2

      I do the same. Either repositionable spray adhesive or a Zig 2 Way Glue Pen. The glue pen is easier to apply but it can end up being almost too sticky.

    you do a great job, Angie, but you really need two cameras. One looking down on your work surface. This one would have been better looking down as you clean the matte. It's easy, just set up both cameras, film the entire episode on each camera, and then just edit them together with your sound track.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 4 lety +1

      Sometimes I use two cameras! This one is pretty old so I did them completely different. I do know how to edit them together.

    I read the reply's and saw my idea suggested about using some type of spray tack glue I an new to using the Cricut and have not as of yet tried cleaning a mat but I think that a spray mounting glue like you would use when doing stencil work might be a way to add back some stick to the mats. if I try this I will be sure to post a note about if it works. have any of you tried this idea?

    Angie, I have a lot of mats that have cut marks all over them. Can I just put a sheet of sticker paper over it, turn it over and spray repositional glue or 2 way glue and so use the back side of the mat?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 2 lety

      I just use them with the cut marks! I haven't had any luck with any repositionable glue. I have tried a few times and it never works right.

    • @AngieHolden

      I do not. I find that the adhesive doesn't work well and just cleaning them is the best bet.
