A cool yet sad Ed story. I was at the Golden west ballroom the night Vanhalen opened for U.F.O. Ed blew schenker away. After the show there was a panic here comes the ambulance. Ed unfortunately over dosed and nearly lost his life
@@frankrichards3089 I would agree if I wasn't there. I'm more of a schenker fan. Schenker was dealing with addiction and wasn't ar his best that night and eddie was on fire. Eddie got the best of schenker on a bad night would be more appropriate than he blew him away. Phil was drunk which didn't help
@@frankrichards3089 It was earlier 1976. I lived 10 minutes away and seen many shows there. I guess the show was recorded and is on you tube. It's says 5/9/1976. I was there but honestly don't remember as with a lot of shows specific dates. I remember when schenker was giving lessons in l.A i actually took a couple lessons from George lynch at a record store.
