Quebec City Is like a time Capsule to me! you have to see it for yourself to believe it! The french Canadians are Gracious
and helpful! It's one of my top Places in Canada! magnifique!
@Mally Canning the military citadelle was built by the British as well as most of the heavy industry. The citadelle replaced wooden pallisades built by the French.
@@klarissaclairiton9010 Québec libre !
@@Hugo-cn9no yes indeed, free to speak whatever language one wants.
@@klarissaclairiton9010 Lol. Wooden palissades... Bunch of lies. It was a stone fortification, built by the French, when the English came in 1759.
(Wikipedia)
Early fortifications
French-rule:
The first protective wall (enceinte)-Major Provost's palisade-was built by command of Governor General of New France Louis de Buade, sieur de Frontenac and completed just in time for the Battle of Quebec in 1690.[6] Three years later,[6] a plan by engineer Josué Boisberthelot de Beaucours for new, 75-metre (246 ft)[6] wide enceinte was developed by the French military engineer Jacques Levasseur de Néré and approved in 1701 by King Louis XIV's Commissary General of Fortifications, Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban.
The proposal to build a full fort was deemed by the government in France to be too costly, despite both the importance and vulnerability of Quebec City.[7] After the fall of Louisbourg in 1745, considerable work on the battlements took place under the direction of military engineer Gaspard-Joseph Chaussegros de Léry.[6]
Also:
Ramparts of Quebec City (Wikipedia):Located in Canada, the Ramparts of Quebec City are the only remaining fortified city walls in North America north of Mexico.[1] The British began REFORTIFYING the EXISTING walls,[2] after they took Quebec City from the French in the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759.
The wall, which runs on the eastern extremity on the Promontory of Quebec, surrounds most of Old Quebec, which was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1985.[3] The fortifications were designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1948.[4]

I live about 4 and a half hours from Québec. I have been there many times in my life...it is a must see in our great province. Bienvenue au Québec!
Quebec City has all the flavor of pre revolutionary France.
Hopefully they won’t burn down the chateau and storm the citadel when the revolution comes.

Very impressive stealing indigenous land and then losing to the British but never stop complaining about it while you smooch off the rest of Canada.
It truly is one of the most amazing places in the world
people of Quebec's are such beautiful and super nice.
Yes you are absulatuly right
Beautiful place yes .. nice people.. I don’t know about that.. if you don’t speak French some will treat you like dirt.
@@dtrevi3591 I don't speak French, everyone was super cool with me and my son. I will give example. We were walking, a police officer with motor cycling was standing, ( there was a motor cycle show was going on) I asked him if we could take a picture of him, as I was asking other motorcyclist, the officer not only he agreed to take a picture he told my son to sit on police motorcycle so I could take a picture , my son sitting on police motorcycle.
Just one example.

Beautiful city, I really enjoyed walking around and seeing as much as I could, beautiful buildings, and we had lunch in the oldest restaurant which was in the video, towards the end of the day we stopped and had a glass of wine and listened to beautiful music from a man playing a harp. A wonderful end to a lovely day.
I live here... And these shots in 4K are amazing. Québec city looks this good, for real....
КРАСИВО
@C Hoc Its mainly a cultural sightseeing and foody destination, a lot like Europe.
I am Swiss and I have travelled a lot around the world. Quebec City is one of the top 3 cities I prefer. It is so relaxing to be there. I am impatient to return. Please COVID-19, go away.
Merci pour ces belles images! Quelle ville magnifique ;)

C'est magnifique! Merci pour ce beau voyage virtuel.
Merci pour ce sublime vidéo de la ville de Québec.
C'est tre bien, non?
Oui. Bien sur.
The oldest and most beautiful city. Also probably the safest.
3rd safest in the world, according to a recent study.
Maybe oldest post-colonial settlement in Canada but not the world.
@@yaddahaysmarmalite4059 that's what he meant. No one would be fool enough to believe any colonial settlement in America to be the oldest in the world,
Triple Double Gainz: Sorry, St. John's, Newfoundland is the oldest settlement and city in North America. 1497. Augustine, Fl. is second at 1565, followed by Quebec City 1608. Quebec City's safety rating is Low (not Very Low), so pretty safe. Probably not so much for tourists.
Love it when it rains
Chateau Frontenac is the most photographed hotel in the world and also if you go along with everything you see her go to chute Ste Anne and Ile d'Orleans. Make sure to take a walking tour of old Quebec, you will learn a lot.
The name is not chute Ste-Anne but Chute Montmorency... Montmorency waterfall...
Went here when I was about 7, the central fortification is truly breathtaking.
I have been watching this video for the last 5 years and it never gets old...l think its the best video of its kind ever made by far...Thanks very very very much...!!!!!!!

Quebec City is a lot older than cities in the US. As a German born immigrant to Toronto, Canada I love this architecture but of course I don't speak French, unfortunately.
ai je bien compris! la ville de Québec n'est pas une ville Américaine on est au Canada mon ami!
Siggi You too have a beautiful country, Germany is a very beautiful Austrian country.
As a Cajun who's ancestors built some of this, I'd love to see it in person.
Beautiful city, lovely cathedrals, old castles, nice narrow streets, wide squares....A lot of tourists walking along the streets...Thanks a lot!Good job! Greetings from Russia,Saratov
Saratov is a cool gopnik place as well
Another excellent video. The 4K is simply amazing.
It's like a town in Europe. And what a view from the Parliament building!
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen someone made for Quebec City. You have showed almost all attractions in an awesome way. Quality is super. However, I m surprised that some people disliked it, come on people have some taste, Quebec City is so beautiful.
Best Québec City video I've ever seen. Unique well-chosen camera angles.

One of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. Been there about 12 times at different times of the year and one of my fondest memories was of beautiful women I met at the Bonhomme Carnival
Don Corleon. What in your opinion is the best season to visit. Is December miserably cold.
@@briannemorse2464 it depends on your preferences. If you enjoy the cold then you can visit Québec for one of the best winter festivals called the Bonhomme Carnival which runs from end of January to mid February.
I would stay away for the month of August. Very hot and humid
Personally my favorite months are September and October. The days are a little cool but a nice sweater makes the walking tour of the old city very comfortable.
Spring days are nice but expect wet and damp days and also possible snow even in the month of April.
I have gone there for the Carnival and in the fall months( the most enjoyable). If you don't speak French no problem because you will be greeted as family and made very welcome which is not the case with Montreal
@@doncorleone8686 thank you, it is on my bucket list. Looks like a beautiful city!
@@briannemorse2464 when you entered Vieux (Old)Québec it will look like you stepped into a 16th century city in France. Enjoy. May I suggest you take a walking tour for the 1st day to get a feel of the city and then explore the rest of the city on your own for the rest of your stay.

Another terrific video! Impressive night time capture of Sainte-Anne. Thank you!!
Jerry Fleetwood Many thanks!
Beautiful visual and aural Quebec City experience! Although I usually travel to Quebec City in winter, I must journey there in spring and summer to witness the natural, architectural and cultural majesty that you have revealed, here, before our eyes. Also in nicer weather, one can climb the various staircases to the Citadelle and the staircases near the major gates -- something that is forbidden in winter because the snow-covered steps make for hazardous conditions. So, thank you for these gorgeous images and the inspiration!
Thank you for the nice comment! I hope to visit in the winter to see it in so different way :)
Beautiful! thank you so much, and wishing you a beautiful Christmas, Annie
