Did Illumination Just COPY Rio???

Does Illuminations new "duck movie" Migration bring anything good to the table? Or is it just another uninspired Rio "clone" that fails to take off, today I discuss it allll!!! :D

I think Rio 2 might have been an inspiration for some parts, but it's unique enough in most parts to not be considered a ripoff. Also, It's honestly a shame that Migration is having such a rough time at the box office. It's actually one of the better movies Illumination has put out. Nothing amazing or groundbreaking, but still a fun, feel good, family road trip movie with some good jokes and good heartwarming moments.

This doesn't necessarily look like a Rio rip-off, yet Migration reminds me of Rio. I still don't think it's a rip-off though. Sure, Mack is similar to Blu in terms of coming out of their comfort zone, but Rio was about an almost-extinct species, Migration was about ducks migrating then getting stuck in New York. Not only that, but the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri, used to work for Blue-Sky Studios before leaving in 2007, so maybe Migration was made as a tribute to Blue Sky after their closure and to one of their films.

So you meant they tried to make it feel like another Rio sequel to make it feel like blue sky studios still lives on and the Rio franchise

well this isnt really a ripoff to Rio i mean they both have Talking Birds but the the Differnce is one movie abouts Really Rare Birds and the other one is about Ducks like we all know Duck still Exist but i love Rio that Just a amazing movie and its from a Animation studio that could have been up there with pixar and Disney

Migration is not the entire rip off of Rio but it's also a inspiration movie of Rio to just save Blue Sky Studios. I feel like that Illumination just got a lot of Blue Sky Studios workers who lost their jobs after the studios shut down and they obviously thought that if they can work on a bird movie that takes the inspiration on Rio then it might save the studios spirit and power.

I’m just going to say but I especially dislike the “ the let’s fly “ and the wings tail and head check part, another with also the dance as well as some of the “fight scenes” with the fruit just reminds me to much of the birds vs monkeys scene in Rio 1, I think also the inside outside inside outside is very similar to the cage scene, I agree that some of the music is also quite similar that I had disliked but hey this is an opinion and people can disagree it if they want to but Rio will always be a big part of my childhood and life growing up. Also Sorry for any spelling mistakes
