Been practicing my roping with a medium soft/soft poly for a little while. Lots of fun. Gotta find some steer now... My German Shepherd/Lab doesn't seem to like the fact that Im strapping horns on his head. LOL. Good video ol son. I know it's not super puncher style, but has anyone ever used a rawhide reata? I stuck with rough stock because I couldn’t rope. Turns out everyone was telling me the wrong thing. I was always told keep it tight and only swing with my wrist. This was a good video

Balance your loop. Put the tip of your rope on your foot and bring it up to your hip. You will find your balance quick, hold your rope 20 to 24" from the hondo and your throw will be more complete. Good luck . Pow pow

I love these roping videos. I’ve been practicing. Could you please do one about the ropes? Which is better for a beginner? What’s the difference (practicality wise) in 3 strand and 4 strand? Soft and . . . Stiff? Hard? Also, how does he hold the rope so it feeds the loop bigger, and how does he hold the tail or loose end so it feeds out, but he doesn’t lose it? Thanks so much!! My Favorite CZcams channel!!!
We use cactus ropes. It’s a soft head rope called a swagger
