Assuming that a mermaid would be humanoid and therefore a mammal, there are no aquatic mammals that have vertical tail fins. Sorry pal, it looks more like an excessively large fish or a shark that went a bit far upriver (they do that sometimes).
its someone swimming. u can see the motion of two legs at the end and looks like they have flippers on there feet. they aren't far from shore and they r inland and most likely to shallow for a mermaid who most likely lives in the depths of the oceans
I've been on this river before! The video is a little grainy but it appears this animal has a dorsal fin. I am not a mermaid expert but I don't think mermaids have dorsal fins. It does look like a pretty big fish though

I live near Wolf River in Wisconsin. It`s fresh water not salt water. So that there won`t be any sharks or mermaids.
