I do love John Oliver but I wish Late Night w/Seth would win Emmys, it's so great and the writers deserve it.
LNSM actually lost to Trevor Noah this year. But that was a one-shot nomination since Trevor has left the Daily Show. So Seth definitely has a shot next year. Here's hoping.
@@andrew66862 You're right about the writing award. That did go to LWT, unfortunately - especially for Sal! For outstanding variety talk series, I still think LNSM has the edge for next year. As for Corrections #100, I'm not sure if you mean the 100th episode or a Specjakular 100th celebration. Seth insists they're different and that the latter will not occur. Given his insistence, I'm sure it will take place!

I love how you can tell Seth's audience is so young they 1.- Do not know "X-mas time for the jews" or any of the "come poop with me" songs (by way of not clapping or making any kind of noise) AND... 2.- That you can almost "feel" the tension when he's explaining the plot of "Underage Bichon" and they're having trouble laughing at the premise of an adult dog having s3x with an"underage dog"!!!! This generation could not handle Triumph one bit. They'd cancel the masturbating bear in a heartbeat... So for what it's worth, I'm so glad Smigel is still going strong and injecting his humor into society. WE NEED MORE COMICS LIKE HIM!!!
One of Triumph’s most memorable assignments was when he traveled to a small New England college to “interview” a group of tragically humorless, militantly politically correct students. Triumph was unrelenting. Pulitzer worthy stuff.

Triumph and Jack McBreyer at the Weiner's Circle was amazing, all of Triumph's outtings were great but that one stands out especially to me

That is far and away the best Trump voice since Tony Atamanuik.
The timbre is possibly even a smidge better because of Robert's natural raspiness.
James Austin Johnson on SNL has the best trump impression, imo. Robert's was excellent, but Johnson really nails trump's mannerisms, sniffs, and his meandering, stream of consciousness speaking style.
@@cleverusername9369 Johnson portraits Trump as a harmless old fool when he is a hardened lifelong criminal and traitor, thus helping to minimize the global threat posed by Trump.
Smigel does a great Trump! That was hilarious. Excellent interview. I love how Robert has leadership energy and just does not care about little stuff.

Robert, one of the best animated bits you did for TV Funhouse was "The immigrant, baby and guy on mushrooms" and it featured a cat named Artemis. I can't tell you how many times I've encountered women who have cats named Artemis (mostly social media) and I always chuckle thinking about that bit from 20+ years ago.

I don't think that was fake laughter, I think that was distracted laughter. He was trying to keep on top of the interview, but Smigel had his own ideas. I am sure they have a great mutual respect and admiration.
