I don't agree with that. The Brazil vs, England match in 1970 was a very tough match. Félix, the Braziian goalkeeper, received a kick from an England forward. There was a lot of pushing and shoving in that game, and yet, at the end of the match Pelé and Bobby Moore, two legends of football exchanged shirts smiling at the end of the match. Another example, Mario Gotze, the man who scored the winnig goal for Germany against Argentina, asked Messi after the game for a selfie with him, and Messi said yes. I don't see why after the game people can't behave like civilized people and be friends.

There's nothing wrong with exchanging shirts and pictures, all professional football players do that every time they face an opponent that, maybe, just beat them.
One more thing, as a fan, you should appreciate how hard your team plays to win and, if they don't, respect the other team because they deserve respect.

This happened when he was playing in Europe as well in PSG. Some Ligue 1 players would ask Messi for his shirt or a picture. Even at the WC Australian players asked Messi for a picure after they had just been eliminated by Argentina. You are talking about a player that many, including myself consider the GREATEST football player ever in the history of football of the most popular sport on the planet, it is not something small. Im sure not in a million years did MLS players think they would be playing with Messi in the same pitch. You really can not blame them.

You talking about it is your choice. Slow news day and it is you, the media wonders, who have been making a fuss in order to attempt relevance. I am one of those who have no problem with it. A lot of those players grew up with Messi being their inspiration like no other for the sport that they love. Those players gave their best. Win, lose, or draw……the match is complete. It is finished. They left it all on the pitch and then regular life must go on. They may never get another chance to even be that close to him. Go and get your jersey.

We have to disagree with this take and we spoke about it on our reaction episode. It looks like many are on the same page here too. This is such a normal practice after a match and now they have a chance to do it with arguably the best to ever play? Seems like a no brainer! No harm no foul.

We have never seen and will most probably never ever see anything close to Lionel Messi... go for it guys, I'd do it anyday, anytime given a chance to ever share a moment with the guy... for heavens sake guys this is sport it's not war. I reckon Vasquez was still going to do the same thing had Cincinnati had won that game.

After playing a hard game against the greatest player , it’s ok to take a pic or exchange shirts

It's not a big deal. Why do you people keep talking about it?

One could argue that if inter Miami loses those games none of these post match shenanigans would happen so it could in a sense be incentive for these "fanboys" to lose

It's amazing how Hispanic Americans can switch back and forth their accent in a millisecond while pronouncing Latino names.
