"I Really feel...high"
I don't think she was talking about the dream machine
10 years later and still the best comment
Laughed so hard when the lady said it!
Yo, I just got the instructions for this machine, and lemme tell you, searching for a record player that spins at 78 rpm is not an easy task. Reminds me that this guy Gysin is just another stoner that put a lampshade on his record player and stared at it til he was high again. What a time to be an epileptic!
My friends used to rip grav bongs and then watch TV static.. maybe that will be in a museum next
@@666xMajor same here 🕯️🤘🕯️
"Flicker Vertigo" is an attempt by a disease-centric culture at naming an altered state of consciousness the only way it knows how, making it sound like a bad thing, rather than something to be explored! The fact is, it can be used to induce trance and visionary states. Very interesting tool for consciousness exploration. ✨
Interesting. I always thought the intention was to have the screen rotate atop a vinyl. This one spins considerably faster.
This is one of those early experimental mind machine attempts. (The simplest variant of the dream machine was a cardboard cylinder spinning on a record player.) Pretty much mechanical stuff was going on before things eventually went digital and became commercial products.
AerialTheShamen he want to replace television with it
gracias
the music made everything creepy... especially the part with the kid.
And how do you use it for dreaming? You meditate with it for a few minutes before sleep?
7 years old but here:
The machine is designed to put you into a Hypnagogic trance similar to state you are in right before sleeping. This could lead to hallucinations as well as an altered state of consciousness that could be disorenting for some.
@@christiancamarena5969 good idea but I think it's too fast for that. I've read it should be in the 4-7 Hz range (Theta).
Doesn't this just make you feel flicker vertigo? I remember experiencing that when as a passenger in a car. My dad would drive and I would try to sleep in the passenger seat. We were driving past a bunch of trees which shadowed the sun, but there were small holes in between the trees which made the light flicker pretty fast. I remember feeling nauseous and at one point my eyelids felt paralyzed, couldn't even open them until I sat up and rubbed my eyes a bit.
this is where the original inspiration came from by Brion Gysin who built this

@@cunningfolktechokay sure, but it does still irrefutably have a negative effect on some people. it’s not just a cultural thing, it makes perfect sense to avoid something if you’ve experienced nausea or seizures because of it.
Wasnt it supposed to be spun at 45 or 78 rpm? Like it was meant to be placed on a record turn table.
Take 10 dried grams of shrooms before staring into the dream machine
This gives me Abromovich/Kinsey machine vibed but i have no idea why
Magnet to mass mania via "art"
Enola sent me from firstbase
second the music being creepy af
It's going too fast. It's the wrong speed from Gysin's plans.
Perhaps because it is a larger size? I've heard of people making a version with a smaller pattern for 45 rpm turntables.
Thought the same. That’s why this example doesn’t work, it’s too fast there is no flicker
where can u find one of these?
Scahfeis Endpacino you can build one it's pretty easy. The Originals were tube made out of cardboard with a lamp in the middle. You put the whole assembly on a record turntable.
Robert Guinn holy shit man, can I contact you privately to get more info?
@@Jetpackth did you ever build one?
a.rnold dude wtf i don’t even remember what this is lmao
@@Jetpackth lol
I don't need a dream machine to get any strange experience, my life is a dream and I don't take drugs or anything, weird!😮

Hi, whats your friend name? tell her hi for me...
...your mom!
@Tomtuber1988 They ARE getting high. The light is stimulating the pineal gland which produces DMT.
DMT is classified as a Schedule I drug, its produced in your brain everytime you go to sleep and when you dream.
narc!
Falso, la razón de las "alucinaciones" producidas por una Dreamachine no tienen nada que ver con la glándula pineal. Además, tampoco existe ninguna real evidencia de que la glándula pineal produzca DMT en nuestro cerebro; solo es un mito.
@@SciphiMath English translation: False, the reason for the "hallucinations" produced by a Dreamachine has nothing to do with the pineal gland. In addition, there is no real evidence that the pineal gland produces DMT in our brain; It is only a myth.
@@amphibia95 And why if I took the trouble to see what everything means in English, you can't do the same with my Spanish?
lmao
It just made me sick
is it satanic?
yes it turns your kids into criminals
No LMAOOO
😅 NO......
That looks annoying as hell.
Can someone explain how they personally got the light bulb to hang inside? Like what was the process? Im trying to find a way but lamp building kits arent exactly helpful, did you buy a bulb with cable and a stand?
