My fan theory for why harry became a giant hulking monster is cause the symbiote reflects your mental state when you bond. Harry at first wanted to be a superhero like his best friend and was super happy, so it formed a military-esque costume that suited Harry's taste. Then when he got it back, he was angry, hurt, desperate, saddened and felt betrayed. Harry decided to embrace his inner monster, so the symbiote made him one
Similar to how the symbiote typically bonds with Eddie after Peter/Spider-Man has ticked him off and he’s an angry guy wanting payback.

I've had this theory for some time, that the symbiote doesn't necessarily make you evil, but just "enhances" or makes your emotions more volatile. Like, Peter deep down, was probably fighting with a lot of negative emotions due to his spider life conflicting with his personal life, all of that. However, he was able to fight all those negative things due to his good-willed nature, but the symbiote ticked his emotions off the brink and they exploded. But with Harry I believe that he didn't have any underlying problems at the start, and was basically happy at the start, not having many negative feelings.@@DroppinJaws
The first appear of harry with the symbiote is the agent venom (originally flash thompson)
@@user-dv5yj5ex2r precisely, the first time Harry had the symbiote as Agent Venom, everything has already gone right for him and he had a positive outlook on life; his Oshtaron Syndrome was in remission, he got to see his childhood friends again, he's honoring his mother's legacy through the company he named partially after her, and on top of that, he finds out that his best friend is Spider-Man and isn't the least bit upset that Peter kept it from him for years. once he got a handle of the symbiote, he made a wonderful addition to the spider-team, even battling alongside Peter or Miles randomly during Crimes in Progress.
but then everything went to shit the moment Kraven stabbed Peter
Has anyone noticed that in the cutscene where Harry becomes venom, At 7:19 the game does the pre-boss fight zoom out (you know, where the cutscene transitions into the boss fight gameplay Like almost every boss fight in the First game)
Except this time, Osborn stops It from happening, THE GAME LITERALLY BAITED ME INTO THINKING WE GET TO FIGHT VENOM IMMEDIATELY!

Harry was actually being very stupid, after everything that's happened he would seriously think Peter would let him die. I mean he saw what that suit was doing to Peter, he should know better that was not him.

Did you do that on purpose? Because Harry is voiced by Graham Phillips, who played Ben in the live action movie race against time. Funny enough, the voice of Spidey is also voiced by former Ben 10 actor Yuri Lowenthal.

1. The real Venom should be with Eddie Brock. Though Harry and the symbiote in this game is definitely OP.
2. We barely get enough time with Venom in this game.
And 3. ….Yeah, I got nothing for that.
I don’t get why Norman was so mad at the Spider-Men after this. They got the symbiote off Harry like he explicitly asked and they didn’t even kill him.
I think it's because Harry's life was ultimately in danger and he holds Spider-Man responsible for that.
Norman was expecting Harry to be walking around normally not be in a coma. Harry is on the brink of death here and it is frustrating for him. So of course Norman is going to blame Spiderman(like he always does).
it also looks like, from his perspective, that spider-man stole the thing curing harry. one moment his son was healthy and then he's dying again and spider-man is roaming the city with his son's healy suit
Norman has always been a whiny bitch. it's everyone else's never his fault.
Playing this for the first time was one of the most memorable moments in my 17 years of gaming

@@parkerboy795Harry’s character arc seems to have been inspired by Eddie Brock in Spectacular Spider-Man. Which I’m not complaining about- that show had arguably my favorite version of Venom to date.

But Insomniac venom wasn't driven by vengeance, venom was driven by Harry wish to heal the world (hence the whole world infection thing). If it's driven by vengeance to peter then venom wouldn't bother to infect other people.

@@larrycooper4783kinda both( the series and game/comic), the mission you play as Venom was so comparable to the game. The way the symbiote particles got stuck in Peter's body too.
This story also uses stuff in venom: king in black story line with the symbiotes taking over the planet with their king knull. Also the way the other symbiotes look is a reference to that.
This feels like a mix of how venom was born from ultimate and spectacular spiderman

I don't blame Harry turning into Venom. Peter basically screwed him over with the cure, or that is how he sees it. If it were me I would be fucking doing everything I can to get the symbiote back.

The Oscorp canister can contain the symbiote, but a frail, weak Harry Osborn can break it open with a swing of his cane. It doesn’t really make sense.

This scene also pissed me off a bit the first time I saw it but I found an explanation for it while coping.
The symbiote pretended to be trapped so that Peter would lead it to Oscorp and to Harry. Harry cracking the glass didn't really do much, the Symbiote just decided that it was the perfect moment to pop out and grab itself onto Harry. Peter got knocked out since the Symbiote blocks his Spider sense.

This game did an excellent job at portraying Harry's downfall from being Peter's best friend to becoming Venom and then redeeming himself by saving the city later on. However, some things will never be superior to the original. The truth is, the true Venom will always be Eddie Brock and Harry Osborn will always be the second Green Goblin! What they have in common is that they both get redeemed!

And that's just the surface of the 616 version of the character. Who could forget the brilliant Ultimate version of Venom?
Eddie Brock is without a doubt, the most complex and compelling Venom host that has ever been written. The symbiote learned vengeance, forgiveness, compassion, and justice from Brock. They are the perfect symbol of two halves forming a whole.

If you think about it from Miles point of view, he must be like “Damn Peter again? You had one job!” Since Miles had to fight to get the suit off him then he leaves him to deliver the destroy the symbiote and next thing he knows Peter is telling him Harry became a giant monster alien and New York is being taken over.

The colors in the room were red & blue and gave Venom red & blue highlights on his body instead of the purple like in the video
Harry was always a villain for Peter in every universe. I wasn’t surprised he would be a villain here. Only difference is that here, it was unintentional. In amazing Spider-Man, he intended to fight peter and kill Gwen. In raimi series, he wanted to kill Peter to avenge his dad’s death.
As insanely awesome as it was to play as Venom, it was even more insane to play as Hailey, Miles' deaf friend. That was sooooooo well done.

Can someone explain this to me. Peter and Harry have a very similar physique, both slim and similar height. When Peter bonds with the symbiote, his physique does not seem to change. However, when Harry bonds with the symbiote he is huge and jacked. Same thing in the third Sam Raimi Spiderman movie where Eddie was smaller than Peter but becomes a jacked Venom. Eddie in the comics is a big dude compared to Peter which I thought is why Venom is big.
the symbiote can take any shape it wants, look at venom from the movies for example, or when eddie has cancer, venoms still big. visualize it kinda like the hulk in a way, harry is like in a mecho/exosuit if u wanna think about it that way, venom is super layered etc. probably to keep harry deep within them.

Because Peter already has super strength so he doesn’t need the extra size, while Eddie and Harry are normal people without powers
I think the symbiote will tap into the host's subconscious in order to create whatever is their mental representation of power. Since Peter is already Spider-man, Venom just taps into that persona and amplifies it. Since Harry was never a superhero before, the symbiote has to create a persona from scratch and comes up with something more obvious as a result - a big hulking guy.
Symbiotes can be as large or as small as they want, within some limits. It’s not the host’s physique that’s getting bigger, it’s the symbiote forming a larger body around them.

Its interesting how you can see subtle forms of jealousy when peter takes the suit. At first Harry makes comments like "huh...never did that for me" to "yeah, its pretty amazing huh?"
You can tell the moment Harry lost the symbiote, he lost a bit of what made him feel like Peter and him were equal, not only is Peter already Spiderman but now he has an alien attached meant to keep you alive. Its no wonder Harry started to become desperate ontop of his failing physical health.

Honestly, I'm one of those people who kinda prefers Harry Osborn as Venom over Eddie Brock.
Because Eddie Brock was just some dude who made a mistake and got it up the ass for it all because Spider-Man did his duty, thus resulting in Eddie protecting years worth of trauma onto Spider-Man. And the only reason the Symbiote bonded to Eddie was because they both hated Spider-Man.
I mean, sure. There's a bit more context to the story than that, but still.
But Harry? He's Peter's best friend who was dying, given the Symbiote as a treatment, wanted to reconnect with his friends, finds out Pete is Spider-Man and instead of getting mad for keeping that from him, he actually wants to help and the Symbiote gives him his chance with the Agent Venom suit. He was practically on top of the world at that point.
But of course, Pete gets mortally wounded, the Symbiote binds to him to save his life, leaving Harry with his illness in relapse. And from Harry's perspective, Peter is just being a selfish jerk who decided his needs were more important and wants the Symbiote for himself and is just going to leave his friend to die. And it makes sense Harry would think that because-
-Harry was never under the Symbiote's influence when it first attached to him.
-With the fear of dying and the painful knowledge of his friend becoming a dick, Harry would start thinking irrationally.
So, when Harry eventually gets the Symbiote back, his desperation, anxiety, hatred, and fear of death became like poison (or "venom") in his mind and all that put together with a Symbiote that's taken on Peter's insecurities and developed a hatred towards him for rejecting it is what creates Venom.
In other words, Harry being Venom gives Peter more of a personal stake in the story. Or, at least, in *this* story.
I can't stand Harry being venom.

I think in this version of Pete/ Spider Man Harry fit better for Venom storyline.
I honestly like that they made it harry and not Eddie, for this game it kinda fits better with the story, especially using the phrase "heal the world" as his reasoning behind spreading the symbiote instead of every other version with Eddie where he just spreads it without any reason other than being evil. With it being Harry there's a lot more emotion between peter and venom because its his childhood best friend, and you get to build that bond back up throughout the story and then get it taken away because he immediately becomes venom when he gets it back. If it was Eddie it just wouldn't really the feel the same despite the fact it's always Eddie.
I do hope they incorporate Eddie Brock into the Spiderman games harry isn't good enough to be venom
