      +bonehed He is. I think though that round 1, Conor was superior. He was landing so much, and Nate was barely landing anything. But Conor was cocky and his inexperience showed. As Nate hit him with 1 good combination and you saw he was hurt. Where as Conor kept hitting Diaz, and you could tell he was used to power like that.

      +MakerInMotion so fucking boring hearing idiots thinking dana has some kinda emotional attachment to these fighters. he gives no fucks about any of them. all he cares about is the money they can bring him and when a ppv star gets crushed it brings in even more ratings and money. idiots think the matchmaking is set like boxing so that managers can milk a fighter. it doesn't work like that in the ufc. they have a short shelf life and the only way dana makes money from them is by putting them in the most dangerous fights possible. low key they've probably been banking on him getting a beating so he stops claiming to be partners with them and taking such a big cut of the money he makes.

    • @MakerInMotion
      @MakerInMotion Před 8 lety +16

      a Jedi Bullshit. Complete fucking bullshit. The UFC is desperate for stars. They want fighters who become household names even outside the MMA community. PPV numbers have been in decline since they peaked in 2009 because the sport just doesn't have bankable stars anymore. Ronda and Conor are (or were) the exceptions. The UFC absolutely wants Ronda and Conor to win every single time. Everyone they pit against them has been brought in to lose. They want fighters famous enough that even casual fans will pay to see them. They get that by making sure their golden child keeps winning and building hype. They tried to build hype for Paige VanZant too but that didn't work out because she's not that good. The UFC is trying to replicate the success it had with fighters like GSP, Anderson Silva, and Chuck Liddell. Yes, it does work like boxing. Most of the money comes from a few bankable fighters. Conor's loss will end up costing the UFC fucking millions. He's lost that hype they built up around him of invincibility.

      Notice that Diaz called McGregor “a good fighter?” That’s as far as he could go, because that’s all McGregor has been in the UFC: good.
      Not great. Not the next big thing worthy of all the hype. He’s a good fighter who basically talked his way to a title shot. From there, it was “right place at the right time” just like Diaz said.

      Listen to Nate Diaz, fresh off his impressive second-round submission win over McGregor at UFC 196, sitting with the Fox Sports 1 crew talking about his career journey while also preaching truth about McGregor’s meteoric rise.
      “I’ve been fighting 12 years as a martial artist,” Diaz said. “Like, just knowing … seeing (the UFC) push this guy. That guy’s a good fighter and everything, but he’s where he’s at because of the push he’s getting, you know what I’m saying? I’ve put in a lot of work, and there ain’t no push. So I’m gonna take that (expletive) and make it mine, you know what I’m saying? I know I’m a better fighter than him. They weren’t gonna give me no full camp for this guy. They’re gonna try to do whatever they can to bring him back to the top. I knew I was better than him. …

      +Sergio J How can he continue to pretend to be a dick in front of every mic and camera?
      Diaz is a great fighter but he was expected to be way too fast and too strong for Diaz given that he didn't have to cut a ton of weight to fight him.
      Diaz is an amazing boxer, but he's never been known for his power and he cracked Connor so hard that he turned Connor into a wrestler. People will constantly question Connor's chin from here on out.
      For Connor to have the right to continue to be a cocky bastard he's going to have to make a joke of both Edgar and Aldo. He's got no business talking about fighting in the LW or WW divisions until he shows us that he's still a million miles ahead of everyone else in the FW division once again and that sucks for Connor because you can see that he has a hard time with the weight cut.

      Conor beats Aldo again in a rematch. but I see Edgar winning unless Conor fights smarter and SIGNIFICANTLY improves his takedown defense / wrestling. Because Frankie has a incredible chin and amazing wrestling the guy use to dominate way bigger guys at 155 for Christ sake. I like Conor a lot , the sport needs him he sells fights and it leads to more money for everyone. I mean look at this fight , Nate made what would take him 10+ fights to earn otherwise. if MMA ever wants to see fighters make remotely close to boxing money it has to grow and in order for that to happen it needs guys like McGregor who can be media magnets. I really believe Conor can be a long time champion but he definitely has to get his ground game to at least be average. Right now its pretty much nonexistent and if that doesn't change he will always have major trouble with guys who have elite grappling skills.

      Nate got battered?? Errrrm that would be a negative!! Both of the Diaz brothers get bruised and bloody as hell when they fight. Especially if they get hit on that brow bone because of all the scar tissue from years of fighting. Joe Rogan was even talking about that during the fight. Nate did pretty damn good that first round considering the fact that he didn't have a training camp, or a sparring partner, and he took this fight with just a 2wks notice. Conor on the other hand had a full training camps. McGregor fans keep using the excuse that Conor lost because of going up two weight divisions, and that's why Nate won. This wasn't Nate's weight division either. He fights in the 155lbs division. +Endo C connor can't make no excuses he talked a lot of shit and this time didn't back it up tho 19-3 is still a great record .....however i well give you excuses/reasons whatever u wanna call it for this....... moving up two weight divisions put connor in waters that he has never been before, thats kinda like a runner training for the 400m or the 800m his whole life and in a short amount of time going and training for the 100m , theres no way possible in the amount of time that mcgregor could have been at his fittest for that weight class, nate was use to fighting heavier guys and could take a punch from mcgregor that would normally knock out guys in feather weight division so this was more of a learning curve than any thing but u can't discredit nate he is a good fighter ... but nate being always set at that 170 weight class give him the edge... and no matter what connor threw at him nate just kept coming becuz he can take it and now connor know the bigger dudes won't drop so easily .....have u ever seen any1 move up two weight classes ?, i hope when he goes down and mangles those dudes to defend his belt he tries to move up again

      Mendes vs Connor was a joke. Connor barely survived long enough for Mendes' tank to run out. Mendes didn't have nearly enough time to prepare for that fight. We've never known him to have conditioning issues but he carries around so much weight that it was no surprise that his tank was empty so early in the fight. If he had a full camp Connor would just a bug on the windshield by now.

So when he loses and you all poke fun at Conor, you don't realize that you are biting the hand that feeds you. Enjoy Conor, and what he is doing for us. So your saying Conor is the only reason the ufc is exciting now. The ufc has always had great fights, Conor has brought new fans to sport that don't understand what makes mma great. Dana white has given Conor a golden ticket since day one, he puts on a show but to think he's the only thing mma has to offer disrespects everyone that laid the ground work. The blueprint on beating Conor is set, he's a striker with no jj and wresting.

    • @breakaway2x
      @breakaway2x Před 8 lety

      Obviously to the MMA hardcore fan, there are many other exciting fighters and fights. But to the mainstream base, UFC picked up a lot of steam thanks to Conor McGregor and his draw. All I'm saying is, love him or hate him, how people turn on him confuses me because if anything, people should be proud of what Conor did for the popularity of UFC in the last 2 years alone and the record breaking draws and ppvs. Conor was right when he said at the press conference before the fight that Nate should THANK CONOR for giving him this fight and getting paid millions. Conor made Nate rich and anybody else could have taken that opportunity but didn't. Nate stepped up and he should thank Conor because without Conor, Nate would never have risen to the level he's at now and certainly would never have gained the money he has now. That's what I'm saying.

    • @breakaway2x
      @breakaway2x Před 8 lety

      Again, to the hardcore MMA fans, we've all known who Nate Diaz was and the Diaz brothers. But they've been doing this for 12 years or so and as popular as they were in the MMA scene, they getting 20k paychecks for their fights. Now from this one fight alone with McGregor, Nate is getting millions. He made more money in 7 minutes with Conor than he did in 12 years of MMA fighting combined. That' what I'm talking about Conor's effect on the UFC and rise and fame he brought.

      +Rillust lol, you got so little to celebrate in your own life that you have to celebrate when a champion falls short. christ thats fucking pathetic man

      +Karly Love No, you're pathetic to even write something like that about someone who says how they feel. I loved it to, because macfuckwit is the worst type of human being, not a humble bone in his body."I should have been more efficient.........." blah, blah, fucking blah. It would not have mattered about being more efficient, as Diaz would have given him a whipping for the last 4 rounds. AND, how pathetic of macfuckwit to tap out so fast. Certainly NOT a so-called "champion" in a 35lb less weight class.I guarantee you that macfuckwit won't make the weight unless he cheats. And that I/V fluids after the final weigh IS ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!

      Jay Bee lmao!! why dont you call him 'macfuckwit' a couple more times like its clever. You little fanboys crack me up calling him pathetic for tapping out like your pepsi drinking, pizza roll eating ass would do better. I can fucking smell your jealousy from here you weak ass hater.

      sorry to inform you that I'm no little fanboy, I call it as I see it, and I don't abuse other people writing on here, not like you do. You really should get out more instead of hiding behind your keyboard and trying to upset people with your vile words. I really hope you see that life is not all about being mean to others. Have a great day :-)
      Oh yeah, I have nothing to be jealous about from him or anyone else on this planet. If I wake up in the morning, then it's a good day.

    l notice that Miesha's victory wasn't celebrate as much as holm when she beat Rounda and it did not have much coverage in the news/media either.

      +DjRoro Agreed. Honestly, I wasn't interested in women's MMA until Rousey's drama and public visibility. Rousey's loss was just as public. Holm and Tate aren't into all that drama, which makes them not as 'newsworthy'. Meh.I've gone back and watched some of Rousey's, Holm's and Tate's fights and I'm really impressed with their abilities. Rousey may or may not come back, but if future women's MMA champions are of Holm's and Tate's caliber, women's MMA has a bright future. I enjoyed not only watching their fighting ability and fighting spirit, but also their professionalism.

    He keeps talking about Nate being heavier when he was only 1 pound heavier. Conor's natural weight ISN'T featherweight because he has to cut down to it. That being said, he's a natural 155-170 pounder so I don't know how Nate is heavier. Just accept the loss Conor boy..
