    Also sounds like they used trumpets instead of horns . . .

      The parts of horns in this Cantata are very high. Trumpets in my opinion sound better.

      This is indeed a very very strange choice made by the great Richter (who loved the trumpet sound, btw, and gave this instrument the very right place in Bach's orchestral music). The fact is this Choral (written in G major) does not sound good on a Trumpet. Bach wrote 99% of his trumpets parts in D. Furthermore, the most velvety sound of the Horn is missing here. The 2 trumpets take the 1st place and it is not right...
