Mike Love for some strange reason gets lots of hate while Brian Wilson seems to get lots of love.
If you look at some of the biggest Beach Boys hits you will see that Love co-wrote them. Wilson was responsible for Pet Sounds which was the downfall of the Beach Boys.
Wilson was a great musical creator but he gets too much credit while the other Beach Boys are forgotten.

Every time Mike Love tells Beach Boys history, he magically wrote more of the songs. It is well known in Beach Boys lore that Audree Wilson (Brian, Carl and Dennis' mom and Mike's aunt) frequently talked of the vibrations that animals felt from people. Mike used to take credit for just coming up with the "I'm pickin' up good vibrations..." riff, but suddenly here he wrote the whole song on the way to the recording session...

Now, that does not equal to 6 months of tinkering in the studio? No, but it is certainly not a worthless effort and it deserves to have a mention. And they are really good lyrics. "Wouldn't It Be Nice" is a different story. There he gets credit for one line, which adds no momentum to the song.

I love Brian and the BB's, my all-time favorite group and person. However, the competition was more in the minds of Brian and the Boys than the Beatles. The BB's were very successful from 1963-1966 but the Beatles far outsold them and had many more number ones. I think the Four Seasons may have sold more records during this period than the BB's. Creatively Brian was right there with the Beatles but not in record sales or # ones. Mike just can't seem to let the BB's/Beatles thing go or the India story.

Do you REALLY think JESUS would tolerate Trump’s mendacity? As got GOD? The clown said he has NEVER asked GOD for forgiveness. You need to get on your knees and ask GOD to forgive YOU now!

WOW Mike! This program is the best in existence!! Seriously. I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting and having our photograph taken with them on their 50th tour. I’m 70 years old and still listen to all their hits-especially Pet Sounds (God Only Knows and Caroline-o my favorites). When in my early twenties I played in a group with a guy named John Foster, who later played with The Beach Boys for a year and a half. Bruce auditioned him. You are great Mike.
