@3ascdo743 But then Lichuan or his brother should have explained the truth first, then have Annie see that he did love her. Had she been told the truth, she would have certainly encouraged his return to Zurich and would still be a supportive friend.
I know it's a movie, and the writer told a great story, but I think it could have been spectacular with changes. The actors were all fabulous.
@@marytesta3003 actually I was also annoyed with this lack of communication which harmed so much both main leads of the story. So little joyful action and so much stressful sorrow. Not speaking of the contrasting character of Xiao Guan, so easy-going and sacrificial with Annie and Emily and incredibly harsh with his own mother.
I agree. In truth, I didn't see this as a love story but a story of abusive, wealthy, and entitled people.
The uncle or grandpa(not sure which actually) was so controlling and had a lot to do with Lichuan being cruel to Annie. Yet, it was her call that allowed Lichuan to go in peace. That was painful for me. Lichuan was denied happiness in the final years of his life and meanwhile Annie was destroyed mentally, spiritually and ended up with bleeding ulcers because of the Wang bunch.
@@marytesta3003 nevertheless, during Annie's days of obstinate assistance of Li Chuan in spite of his opposition, Ji Chuan acknowledges their family's gratefulness to her for her unyielding support for him in his most tough times. And even when he disappears from hospital, Ji Chuan appeals to her as their only hope to find him.
