- Aesthetic Perfection performing "Dead of Night", originally recorded by Orville Peck. Shot on location in a farmhouse in the middle of the Austrian countryside.
Cellar Sessions is an experiment that seeks to explore what happens when you limit the tools you have available in order to push your creative and technical boundaries. For this session, I decided to cover three wildly different songs, recreate them using only Native Instrument's Maschine hardware / software and perform them in their original keys and octaves. The performance was shot and edited by myself at my home in Austria. I hope you enjoy it!

@@ClosetoHumanMusic don't put yourself down like that! Necessary Response is still one of my favorites, and, in my opinion, this was very reminiscent of that original album
@@notaperson916 It's not a put down, it's a fact. I had zero idea how to sing cuz I'd never taken lessons or even looked up anything about technique. The whole original Blood Spills was autotuned to death because I wasn't a singer. I'm glad people like it but I'm even more glad I decided to become a serious vocalist a few years down the road. Where I was headed was untenable. :)

Well, thanks to you, I now have a new artist I love. I had never never heard of Orville Peck before, but the sognwriting really stood out in your excellent performance, so I thought I'd check him out. I have now listened to his album and EP about 25 times since last week.
His debut is the best album of the last 5 years. So glad I could turn you on to his music!
It really is amazing. And it finally made me say, "OK, fine, I like country." I mean, I've always enjoyed the classics (Johnny, Hank Sr (not Jr, he's a jackass), Willie, Dolly, Waylon, etc) but there have been a few lately that have just gotten me with the quality of their writing. Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Daniel Romano, Brandi Carlisle, Hank III, and now Orville Peck. Just amazing stuff.
@@MatthewCrocker I think Orville Peck is so much more than a typical country artist. To my ears, it's got all those country influences you listed, plus everything from goth to Roy Orbison! I love it.

quarrel about the vocal skills especially in the deep parts. BUT you simply convey the feeling better! And that's what matters to me.

I'm a big Orville Peck fan and love Orville singing this song. But, holy crap, this guy gave me the chills singing this song. I've never heard him before but definitely will be checking him out!

In all seriousness, I turned 30 this year and I've been following your music since Close to Human, so literally about half my life now. Like, I remember lying to my mom about where I was going so I could go see you play. I think it was at Das Bunker (WHEN YOU HAD HAIR lollll). I didn't get to see you live again until many years later and the growth I noticed was amazing!! The progress you've made as a vocalist, as a performer, in the visual aspect of your artistry, it's beautiful to see. Watching you break out of the box this subculture likes to put people in and become this fearless, eclectic artist, watching you bust your ass to come up from nowhere doing YOUR thing, YOUR way has been inspirational as fuck my good dude. So proud and privileged to have been able to watch your growth as a musician throughout the years. Keep it up!!! I love this so much. It's extremely different from the content I've been listening to. I agree with what you stated in your podcast an entire album is a lot of music to digest. For me as a new fan, I'm still digesting all the music, and its wonderful to actively see the changes of style in your music and how you have evolved over the years.
