Creating Disney Magic w/ Lee Cockerell

Lee Cockerell has helped run some of the most iconic hospitality brands in the world. From Marriott Hotels to his most well known role as Executive Vice President of Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. Lee was responsible for over 40,000 cast members and overseeing operations for all the Orlando assets. I had an amazing time chatting with a living legend. We discussed how small business can create magic, insights into leadership, and how he's stayed happily married for decades! I hope you enjoy this candid interview.

I currently work for a College, and when hiring mangers, the college emphasizes the importance that the candidate has I college degree. Although I have a degree, I learned early in my career, that with out common sense, there is no degree that is a substitute, and no schools are teaching a course in common sense. I was asked at an interview years ago, did I have a degree. When I told him yes, His responds was: "Great means you can be taught." What a true statement, one that I have kept as a measure of a college degree.
